I don't "play" Magic the Gathering because I don't have that kind of money + WotC sucks + recent sets have been predominantly marvelslop. Plus which when I did play, 6~7 years ago, I sucked at it badly. But it is one of my favourite rulesets ever invented, so I like to pretend I play sometimes.
If nothing else, I feel like there'll eventually be a "no maximum hand size" effect that's good enough to be competitive. Maybe it has to be 1CMC and either cantrip or give you a body, or maybe it needs to have a cycling/channel ability, but it's exactly the kind of thing that would be decent at best in Standard/Modern/Eternal but potentially quite strong in (competitive) commander.
Why are these & similar not considered potentially worthwhile cards in Necropotence/Necrodominance/Ad Naus decks? I get that the best-case scenario with those cards is you win the game right away, but about half the time you are going to have to pass the turn, or your winning line is going to require a Final Fortune effect. "Not discarding 15+ cards" seems like a huge advantage in those situations - if you drew into a lot of interaction but no immediate win, keeping a hand of 20~30 instead of discarding to 7 (or 5 with Necrodominance!) could easily make the difference between surviving to win on your next main phase vs. permanently exiling some or all of your wincons.
Spellbook is card disadvantage, sure, but it turns on Mox Opal, it increases your storm count by 1 (for free!), and you can sac it for Beseech the Mirror's bargain effect. PEM replaces itself and can be pitched to FoW/FoN. Vnwxt is also card disadvantage, but can be pitched for Force effects AND sac'd for Flare of Denial, and it'll sometimes pay back part of its mana cost if you're unfortunate enough to have Springleaf Drum or Mox Amber out on an empty board.

The American Imperial Wehrmacht lost three more goons, who threw their lives away in service to one dotard's mad folly. Hopefully this will remind their fellow criminals of the senselessness of aggression and the price of their continued participation.
