The reason black writers put “X black reader” isn’t to segregate but INCLUDE because majority of fan fics that have “X reader” are NOT made for all readers. They include tiny descriptions that as a white person you might not notice. But we black fans do.

It is all very noticeable. So we as black writers use “Black Reader” as a way to create a space for ourselves in the fandom that we all have a right to enjoy.

It is not our jobs to educate you on the very problems that you as readers create. But a lot of us still do.

Writers are leaving and quitting because of the treatment and racism they face for simply wanting to make a space for themselves and for other black women, it is annoying and honestly just sad.

do you think if this show was on a different platform like HBO, Showtime, or even FX the plot would be better? or is it really just shitty writing and it can stay on NBC?

I honestly don’t think the network is the issue at all. At least not for what the show is trying to achieve. The Blacklist is on NBC and that has some pretty dark storylines and a substantial amount of violence. Even in S3/4, I don’t think there’s anything the show would’ve wanted to do that couldn't be achieved on NBC, aside from maybe swearing more. I can’t see them wanting to have nudity or more graphic sex scenes and I don’t think they need any violence more graphic than 2x13. 

The issue is the writing. These idiots couldn’t keep up with their own plot if their lives depended on it.
