This illustration is a reflection on the masks we wear in order to move through the world.

Behind composure, politeness, or control, there are always other faces — impulses, fears, ugliness, even something monstrous. Parts of ourselves that are rarely shown.

The cracks in the central face suggest a moment when that mask begins to break. Not as a failure, but as a quiet recognition: that we all carry strange and unsettling fragments within us.

In that fracture, two people can sometimes see each other more honestly — not despite those peculiarities, but through them.
