Maria Candida Gentile Burlesque 15 ml Parfum I think she has the best nose of our time. A true Artiste. Her scents seem to be all one woman/one vision artistic works. But in the same way that I had to see past the fact that the creator of genious drama series The Leftovers had also made Lost, I had to see past the fact that MCG made a signature scent for a European princess, which scent-wise or anything else-wise is a off a turn-off for me, but one has to see past one's judgementalness and Maria Candida Gentile's Burlesque is a masterpiece. The shamelessly sexy sister of Exultat, created in 2012, with only five notes being top spicy citrusy blood orangy, floral heart of iris and rose, while the rich base consists of precious and luxourious versions of incence and pachouli. Shamelessly sexy in a velvet kind of way. Like Nigella Lawson.
Maria Candida Gentile. Burlesque 15 ml Parfum
I went to a parfumerie across town where any lady’s handbag costs more than my monthly wage, where the ladies lunch and where the only parfumerie in Oslo that carries Maria Candida Gentile is situated. (I tried so hard to find her scents in Rome, but I just couldn’t. It was august and too hot and I don’t know Rome that well. So I gave up.) Anyway. Went across town to test Exultat, which I really loved, but I fell deeply for Burlesque, Exultat’s nasty and shameless sister. The top is warm spicy citrusy, the heart iris and rose, while the base - the great base notes are precious, rare, the real expensive-stuff incence and patchouli. With only five components, Maria Candida Gentile has created what I believe must be one of the greates scents I’ve tested like, ever. I did want to write 'one of the best scents of our time, so there you go. I’m so courious about her artistic vision, so I will internett-stalk here. I’d love to know more about her. I'd love go to Italy and irl stalk her on a respectfull distance, even though that might be hard to sell to family members. All the same: Awe to a great artiste. And ps: I love all Maria Candida Gentile’s scents. It seems to be a true and uncompromised never- mind the mass market the ‘one nose, one vision’-artwork, and I’m in love with her art.
