HELLO I’M ALIVE but i come bearing bad news. unfortunately after being here for a year i just.. don’t feel happy or comfortable in the indie community and i haven’t for awhile. it’s started to feel like a chore being here sometimes. plus, i’m getting my life and health together after neglecting myself FOR YEARS so, i’m sorry to say i’m going to be leaving my blogs and who knows, i might come back, i might not.

but i won’t be gone from tumblr completely, i have a writing blog @butterscotchqueenwrites and anyone is free to follow me. my sk.ype is [email protected]. i’ll most likely stay signed in to here on my phone and my ims will be open.

i do cherish the friends i’ve made on here and i hope we can keep in touch. i also hope you understand my choice. love y’all.

vanellope was diagnosed with dyslexia at the age of eight. prior to her diagnosis, she’d get teased in class when she’d get picked to read. she’d often stutter on her words no matter how simple and feel nothing but embarrassment and frustration. it’d get to the point where she’d get so upset, she would walk out of class in tears or lash out at her peers and get sent to the principal’s office.

when it came to classwork, homework, and tests, vanellope constantly got poor marks. she nearly got held back in both first and second grade before she was finally diagnosed in third. to accommodate her, vanellope was moved to special education classes which only increased the teasing and bullying she’d endure on a daily basis. even though she tried her hardest, the more she was made fun of, the more discouraged she felt. it was a cycle that continued no matter what school she went to.

she didn’t begin to do well until the age of ten when her teacher talked her foster parents at the time into enrolling her in a program that could help her. with the extra attention and work away from her peers, vanellope began improving. though it was still a daily struggle, she had her good and bad days.

her schoolwork isn’t the only thing effect, obviously. she has trouble with passwords as well as captchas and simply texting can be difficult. you’ll often see her using voice to text in order to message someone on her phone or using auditory captchas for websites. though she doesn’t try to depend on audio books --- she’s afraid of regressing if she does, when she gets headaches from simply reading, she’ll turn to one.

as i’ve said before, vanellope loves to bake and make anything sweet. reading recipes can be difficult and often results in them tasting awful due to adding the wrong amount of ingredients or messing up a step or two. she’ll use reading blogs and recipes as a last resort. she still gets embarrassed from time to time but she has a thicker skin now and cares less about what anyone else thinks.
