This (side)blog is for us to share our Obey Me musings, headcanons, thoughts, analyses, and writings. We talk about it enough between the two of us, so figured we might as well share!
This blog is to fulfill our need to dive into the more otherworldly atmospheric elements of the Three Realms, as well as the magnificent and horror-esque aspects of what it means to be interacting with some of the most powerful demons (and sorcerer and angel) in existence, so that is our main focus. We are very into the demons being demons, and the angels being as terrifyingly monstrous as they were originally meant to be.
Also, we really love angst.
Please take a look at the rules linked below for some more info before following or sending asks/requests!
I know Obey Me has basically stopped doing birthdays, but it feels like such a missed opportunity to not do something for Lucifer's being the 6/6/2026 this year.
omg YOU'RE RIGHT
We guess, technically, they are releasing the Sinner's Choice: Lucifer later this year, and they did add a couple more illustrations to the Steam page "for Lucifer's birthday", which we are.... looking 👀 👀 👀
But yes, it would be nice if they actually still did something proper with the birthdays. :')
Can I ask for Lucifer and #20? Also congrats on hitting 100k likes!!! You guys deserve all the best things 💗 💓 💖 💛
Thank you so much!! 🥹❤️
Lucifer + 20 | "Infectious" - Imminence
"He's gotten into your head, Lucifer. Remember, he's a demon. They can't be trusted."
"But Father—"
"Silence. I won't hear anymore of it. Humor them if you must, but I will entertain this drivel no longer."
Perhaps Father was right, that all of this talk from the Demon Prince was merely idealistic nonsense, a way to manipulate the Celestial Realm into lowering their guard. What demon would want peace unless there was something deviously beneficial in it for them? And surely, if peace could be achieved, Father would have been the first to propose such an audacious and praiseworthy plan.
And yet, Lucifer finds himself in the Devildom once again, sitting across from the very demon he has been told explicitly not to trust above all others. Golden eyes beam at him, and he cannot help but compare them to the glow of an angel's halo. Ridiculous.
"Lucifer! It is so good to see you again. You remain as beautiful and radiant as ever. How fare's the Celestial Realm these days? Your brothers?"
"I'm only here for diplomacy's sake. Do not think I am here to be friends." Lucifer asserts as he inspects the tea served to him. "…And the Celestial Realm is doing as well as ever, same goes for my brothers."
"Of course." Diavolo gives him a polite, knowing smile. "Good to hear. Well then, shall we get started? I have so much I would like to discuss and share with you today."
It's strange how as the minutes pass, Lucifer finds himself slipping into a sense of comfort. He is an angel in enemy territory, but no matter how hard he tried to pick apart every word and action of the demon before him, he could not find deception or harmful intent. He had secretly come to enjoy these meetings, with Diavolo providing more pleasant company than even some of his fellow angels. More pleasant than Father.
He's gotten into your head.
"Diavolo." Lucifer abruptly interrupts. "What is truly your goal here?"
"Have I not made that quite clear?" Diavolo tilts his head ever-so-slightly. "Peace, for all Three Realms."
"And what do you gain from this?" He's desperate to find a flaw, a hidden truth. "What could the demons possibly gain from all of this, other than peace? It's not like you can be trusted."
"Ah, here again, are we?" Diavolo sighs, but there is no anger or frustration. "As hard as it might be for you to believe, I care about my people. I want to protect them, build a better future for them. They cannot have that if we continue the bloodshed as we have for centuries past. Peace benefits us all." The demon leans forward, his gaze inquisitive. "Is that not what you want? Considering how often you've visited, I assumed you felt the same."
"…I do." Lucifer clears his throat. "As hospitable as you've been, you cannot blame me for my doubts."
"Your doubts are understandable. Demons do not trust angels anymore than the angels trust demons. This plan for peace will take a lot of work and some willingness to cooperate, on all sides, but I believe it can be achieved one day." Diavolo smiles, and Lucifer knows it is sincere. "And I think, despite your hostility, you believe it too."
He did. He wanted to believe in it more than anything. He recalls what he thought on that first meeting with the prince — who here was the demon, and who was the angel? It was the beginning of it all, the first crack in the wall that the Celestial Realm and Father had so dutifully built over millennia. But why was it that every time he tried to convince Father that working towards peace was a worthwhile goal, he was silenced?
There's a tightness in Lucifer's chest, and he realizes that one of his worst fears was coming true.
His doubts were no longer in the Demon Prince and his goals — they were in Father and His.
Correct me if I’m wrong but Lucifer can read minds? How often do you think he use this ability? Or if he even can turn it on and off.
Lucifer cannot read minds, but he can read (and alter!) memories -- something that has only ever been mentioned in events, never in the main story.
The memory-altering power is one the devs have used before as an excuse for certain things, like when they don't have sprite outfits for something. Hence, it's shown up a few times that way.
The only outlier we can think of is in the Under the Cherry Blossoms event, where Lucifer reads the memories of the ghost they've been seeing.
We imagine it's not a power he uses frequently (again, it's never shown up in the main story) but it is certainly something he is capable of and will make use of when he deems fit.
Can you do “I feel a sickness for a home I’ve never been” with Lucifer finding MC (platonic or no) going through a depressive episode after coming back late from one of diavolos given (demonic tasks) maybe splattered in a bit of blood, gn mc pls.
If it’s something ur uncomfortable with, take out the depressive episode part.
Ty
❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for the congrats!!
We did receive your follow-up request you asked for instead, but...I was already partially into writing this one haha, sorry! However, here's a somewhat similar Mammon drabble from a previous round, which I hope you'll enjoy it instead!
Also, as a general reminder for everyone - the rules of the prompt game are only prompt, character, and MC/no-MC. This particular scenario request happened to line up pretty well with the idea I had anyway, but we've had a few others come in too, and well, we just like to have our creative freedom with the prompts that come in (⌒_⌒;) So please keep in mind that if you send in a very specific scenario, your request may be ignored.
“I feel a sickness for a home I’ve never been.” - Lucifer/MC
content warning: blood, MC depression, imagined MC death
Maybe a walk through the gardens, alone so late at night, isn't the best idea you've ever had.
You shiver, the thin fabric of your pajamas offering you little protection from the chill of the Devildom's unending night. You probably should have changed before coming out here, or at least brought a jacket, but you hadn't thought about that. Really, you hadn't thought much at all when you'd fled your room, except that you needed to get out, now, right now, or you were going to suffocate under the weight of your own thoughts.
Of course, now you're alone with your thoughts and cold.
At least it feels a little easier to breathe out here in the fresh air. The cool is soothing against your aching, tear-shot eyes. You feel the restlessness coiled in your muscles dissipating a little with each soft rustle of soil beneath your feet.
One step after another, you wind your way through the rose-dotted hedges, as if hoping that getting lost in the labyrinthine greenery will make you feel less lost in your head. The full moon glows brightly above you, lighting your way. It's larger here than in the human world, or maybe just closer. If you shut your eyes, you can picture it getting even closer still -- bigger, heavier, sinking, falling, pressing down, down, down, until the luminous weight of it could just crush you where you stand, and --
"MC? What are you doing out here so late?"
Your eyes fly open, startled, and you find yourself greeted by an equally startled-looking Lucifer, just now arriving home. Lines of dark ichor drip around his face, and when he quickly moves to wipe them from your view, it's to little success as you realize his gloves, along with all the rest of his uniform, are just as bloodied.
You want to comment on that fact, but he beats you to it, face full of worry as he rushes up to you. "Wait, you've been crying. What's wrong?"
Your lip trembles with trepidation. As much as you love him, you don't usually confess all your concerns so easily. But neither can you keep it in anymore; you've been drowning in these feelings all night, and they're about to spill out whether you want them to or not.
"I don't want to go back."
He puts an arm around you, puzzled but concerned, and you latch onto him like a lifeline. As the tears start to well up again, you bury your face against his viscera-soaked coat, and awkwardly, he wraps you into a comforting embrace, trying his best not to get the splatter onto you. After a moment, though, he quickly gives up on those efforts, deciding to just hug you tighter, blood on his chest be damned. It doesn't matter if you get the stains on you too -- right now, you just need this. You need him.
"I know the exchange program is only for a year, and then I'm supposed to go home -- right? It's coming up really, really soon. And I should be happy about that, because the human world was my home, and my whole life got left behind when I got pulled down here, and -- I think most people would miss it. Most people would want to go back, wouldn't they? But -- I don't. I don't want to go back! I was never happy in the human world!"
You cling to him harder as you talk, afraid to let go, as if the moment you do, everything around you will disappear. But the ever-assured Avatar of Pride's embrace is solid and warm around you, and he doesn't make any move to pull away. So, through haggard breath, you continue.
"I was never happy there like I've been happy here. I never fit in there. But this is the Devildom, and I'm a human, not a demon, and -- it's not like I can stay, right? In the end, I'm just a guest here, and guests are supposed to go home. But the closer it gets, the more it feels like there's nowhere for me to go. If I have to leave, I don't have a place that feels like home! I don't belong anywhere else!"
As you keep spilling the thoughts that have been plaguing you all night, he stays there, holding you patiently, listening quietly and letting your sobs hiccup against him. Gradually, little by little, your fingers stop gripping the fabric of his uniform quite so tightly. You let yourself relax into him a little more. You're not ready to let go just yet, but he doesn't ask you to. And finally, when it seems like you've calmed down, your breaths soft and steadied into his shoulder, he starts to speak.
"You know, we're here now, but back when we were angels, I used to call the Celestial Realm my home. It was the only one I'd ever known. And it is beautiful there -- how light falls on everything to give it warmth. I almost think I miss it, sometimes."
Lucifer's words are slow and careful, as if piecing together a confession that he's never let himself put into words before. He pauses, letting the admission linger in the air for a moment, then sighs.
"I don't miss it, though, not really. I wasn't happy there. There were problems, doubts that I ignored for a long time, until I couldn't ignore them anymore. What I feel is a sickness for a home I've never been. The Celestial Realm isn't actually that place that I miss. After we were cast out, what mattered was that my brothers and I belonged together. We made a new home here, as a family."
He holds you tight, pressing a gentle, reassuring kiss to the top of your head.
"And if you think you're just a guest to us, you're sorely mistaken. You're part of our family now too. I'll talk to Diavolo tomorrow. We'll figure it out. Because if that's how you feel, then this is your home too -- with us."
Hii!! I apologize if they're already closed, but for the 999 event 👁️ with Lucifer and MC ? Thank you!
"My imperfections scare you, I can see it in your eyes." - Lucifer/MC
content warning: blood mention
You stand now in the House of Lamentation’s garden, leafless branches twisting high into the air around you like claws trying to tear at the dark sky and spill its ink to the world below. You are alone, you think, or as alone as one can be as you have long since learned that the gravestones in the front yard are not simply for display. Goosebumps rise along your skin as you realize that it has suddenly become eerily quiet -- no wisps of winds, no calls of crows nor ravens, no croaks of bufo toads or hisses of other nightmarish creatures lurking in the shadows. All has come to a still, the only sound now the beating of your heart drumming in your ears.
Slowly, you begin to walk, though you’re not sure if it's even of your own accord. Your body moves, and you follow, until you find yourself on a path that you do not remember. Something moves in the distance amongst the trees, piquing your curiosity however foolishly. So you continue, the path soon opening into a small clearing and your breath hitches in your throat as you find yourself looking upon a magnificent yet unsettling sight.
Four immense feathered wings stretch out under the moonlight, their color so deep it is as if the fabric of reality is being torn apart to reveal a void underneath as light is swallowed whole. A familiar curve of horns, though much grander than you had seen before as they sit like warped spires upon a crown of raven locks. Another step forward, and a branch beneath your foot snaps -- causing the being before you to straighten his back, blinking crimson now evident across exposed skin as he turns to reveal his visage.
“MC,” His voice is even deeper than usual, blanketing you in a warmth akin to that which you would feel from fresh blood spilling from a wound. “I figured you’d be here sooner or later.” It’s heavy, almost as if you’re hearing his voice as pressure on your chest and a squeeze around your neck.
“How did you -- “ You begin to question.
“I simply knew.” He answers, and you can see the way his fangs have grown longer, sharper. Of course he knew, just as he always knew. The diamond onyx that usually rests on his forehead now reveals another eye, though something about this one seems to lure you in, hypnotizing you. Crimson on black, just as his usual pair of eyes now looked, just as the many others that littered his form. All focused on you, piercing through your soul.
The claws of one hand begin to reach out to you, but he stops. A hesitation, a rare falter in confidence from the Avatar of Pride.
“My imperfections scare you, I can see it in your eyes.”
“No, Lucifer.” Your voice is quiet, but it does not waver. Gazing up at him, you can see the soft adoration he has of you even now in his frightening features. You approach slowly, gently placing a hand on one of the claws which is nearly the length of one of your legs. How minuscule you are in comparison to this grand form, a reminder of your human mortality as you face a god. “Where you see imperfections, I see only sanctity.”
Can I request 👻Everyone's got some tragic history with Lucifer and MC?
"Everyone's got some tragic history." - Lucifer/MC
When Lucifer had asked you to accompany him on one of his official trips out to the further reaches of the Devildom, you weren’t entirely sure what to expect. You readily agreed, of course -- it would be good for you to see what work he was doing first hand, especially as one of the two humans taking a leading part in Diavolo’s great plan for peace between the three realms.
“Thank you! Thank you, Lord Lucifer! I don’t know what we would have done without you!” The small, elder demon bows as gratitude flows profusely from their lips, clutching an aide package against their chest. “And that you came yourself! There was no need! Oh, and … thank you as well, Honorable Ambassador!” They turn to you with a surprisingly warm smile, given all their sharp teeth. “I never thought I’d see a human helping us out like this. I suppose His Royal Highness is on the right track, after all.”
“Please, I’m merely performing my duty, and they are generously volunteering their time.” The Avatar of Pride gives one of his charismatic smiles. “I hope you and the others will be able to get some rest. This mess will all be taken care of, we assure you.”
You bid them farewell, closing the door behind them. As you go to count the remaining supplies, you feel arms wrap around your waist from behind, an exhausted demon nuzzling his face into your neck.
“That was the last of them, so we’re done for the day.” He murmurs before pressing his lips against your skin in a soft kiss. “Thank you for all of your help.”
“Of course, love.” You lean back into his embrace, enjoying his warmth after such a gruelling day. “I have to ask though … Why are you doing this personally? Do you always go and attend to emergencies like this in person?” You feel Lucifer stiffen at the question.
“Not all of them.” He sighs, slipping away from you to lock the door. “Usually this kind of thing is below my station, but … I suppose I feel responsible, in a way.”
“Responsible?”
“This landslide was from unstable regional magic. As I told you before, this hasn’t been the first time. It’s been an issue since … “ He trails off for a moment, running a hand through his raven locks as he turns back to face you. “...Since one of the wars with the Celestial Realm, millennia ago. Some potent celestial magic soaked into the area and it isn’t easily rid of.” He pauses. “That was my grand idea.”
“Oh.” Your eyes widen in realization. “Well, that was then, Lucifer. You can’t keep blaming yourself for it even now.” You move forward to rest the palms of your hands against his chest, looking up into his melancholic ruby eyes. “Everyone’s got some tragic history, yours is just a bit grander than most.”
He chuckles somberly, taking a hold of one of your hands to place a kiss on your knuckles. You were always there to comfort him when he needed it most.
Lucifer's six wings beat wearily around him as he takes a moment to look over the scene, clearing the smoke from his face with each heavy movement.
His heart, thudding in his chest with the exhaustion of battle, feels just as heavy. This is his home — it always has been, since the moment he was born. And he loves it. He loves this place, so much. The Celestial Realm is so full of beauty, with its flourishing landscapes of sun-drenched fields, its groves and gardens so lovely in their blooming.
And now, by his rebellion, that beauty is gone, trampled beneath the heavy footfalls of warfare.
Lucifer reminds himself that it is necessary, as he flies over to survey the fighting below in search of his siblings. No matter how beautiful, it wouldn't change that their lives here have been growing out of rotten roots. He's begun to see another way of life, a better way, but instead of even entertaining the thought of working towards peace between the realms, Father's concerns seem more fixated only on punishing angels for their crimes — angels like Lilith, too naive and loving for her own good.
But angels like them aren't supposed to be naive. They aren't meant to be anything. Angels are only meant to obey, as servants and soldiers, carrying out His will and His rules without question.
What a sorrowed land, to have to live that way.
He sweeps groundward, seeing a familiar face amidst a growing pool of red in his surveillance. "Baraquiel, are you alright?" he asks, hurrying to help an injured cherub to his feet.
The other angel gives him a weak grin. "Well, well, if it isn't our commander himself. Thank you, Lucifer. But sorry to say, I'm afraid I won't be much help for the rest of this battle."
"I should be the sorry one, for letting you bear these injuries to fight my battle." Lucifer shakes his head, readying a soft glow of healing magic over one of the worse injuries.
Baraquiel pushes the seraph's hand away with a gentle, regretful smile. "No, I — I chose to follow you. To try to leave the old ways. I wanted to give you my power…as my own decision, for once." He slumps limply against the remains of a half-fallen tree with a groan, though he tries not to let his grin fall. "Save your magic, Lucifer, sir. And if you could…I know Beelzebub is close with you. Could you tell him that I'm sorry? I don't think I'll be getting that burger I promised him after all."
Drip by drip, the lifeblood continues to drain from his face, but the cherub pushes all Lucifer's attempts at treatment away, insisting he move on. And it's true, there are others still out there. He still has Lilith and his brothers to look for, and many more battles still to fight before he can even dream of victory against Father.
Finally, Lucifer leaves, Baraquiel's words still reverberating in his heart. My own decision, for once.
The guilt for his fallen comrade is matched only by a regrowing bloom of rage.
The angels give everything for Father. And this is said to be correct, for He gave them their lives and everything they have.
But He also gives them pain, and they have no recourse for that. He would rather let so many of the angels die than give one moment's consideration that His punishments could be wrong — to allow for even a moment that Lilith, and so many other angels before her, could deserve better. To let any of the angels experience mercy. To let any of them truly find peace.
As Lucifer takes to the skies again, he grimaces, his focus renewed.

“If you want a battle, I’ll give you a war.”
We all know the story – Lucifer, the most brilliant of angels, rebelled against God, failed, and fell. But there’s so much more to the story than that, isn’t there? A story of Lucifer, the revolutionary, and the family that fought beside him.
Can also be read on AO3 here
The crowd that has gathered is modest, but it’s more than Lucifer was expecting, if he’s being honest with himself. He is aware, of course, what influence he has in the Celestial Realm, as not only a seraph but a leader even among that group of highest ranking angels. He’s well-liked and admired, certainly. It shouldn’t be surprising that more than a few would follow him.
But even so, admiration alone would not, could not, convince angels – servants dedicated to their Father’s will! – to rebel against that same Father. No, that requires much more courage and conviction, and demonstrates far more belief in him and what he is about to say. They are here to follow him into a war that seems sure to be devastating for all sides.
That is not just admiration; that is faith.
Does he deserve their faith? He hopes so. Hope is all he has, now.
From the edges of his sight, he can see Mammon rallying those who have gathered, corralling them into some semblance of order. It gives him some reassurance, at least, to see his trusted brother here with him. His other siblings, too, are gathered in the crowd, and he sees them scattered throughout.
He takes a deep breath, preparing himself for what is to come, as the incoming throngs gradually slow to a trickle.
There’s a sense of reckoning that comes with Judgement. The Judgement card often indicates that you need to make a life-changing decision. You may be at a crossroads, aware that any choice you make will bring a significant change with long-lasting effects. If you need clarity on the situation, look to your past and life lessons to guide you. It’s a card that demands change and commitment and reflects how the stakes are high, not just for ourselves but for others and the world as a whole.
My hands tremble at the terrible weight of the Night Dagger.
Kill...Lucifer? Me?
He places his hand over mine in an unfathomably calm reassurance.
"I may have lost my memory, but you and my brothers are still dear to me. That feeling remains. Even now, I still want to protect all of you. And you most of all, my love...more than anyone or anything else in this world. So if my power is what it takes to ensure that you're safe, then take it," he says gently.
His smile is tender and honest.
How can I possibly hurt him? He stands before me, so ready to give himself up to protect us all. There's not a hint of hesitation or fear, and I know he means what he's saying. But this was exactly the selflessness and desire to protect everyone that made me fall for him in the first place. And he has already suffered so much for everyone's sake. How can I possibly hurt the one I love most?
When I don't respond, he kisses my hand lightly to reassure me again. "Without this blade...without the Night Dagger, it's possible that you'll end up getting hurt, right? So it's okay, my love. If it means saving your life, then it's worth it." He guides the handle into my palm. "Now, take the dagger, point it at my chest, and thrust it forward as hard as you can."
"No!! I can't do that!" I sob, pulling my hand away as tears leave warm streaks down my cheeks. "I won't! We'll find some other way! We have to!"
He is still calm as anything. "This situation we're in right now...it seems somehow familiar. Like I've seen it before...I've seen you holding a dagger just like that, looking really upset..." he muses quietly. "Ah, wait...have we acted this out before...like in a play or something? In that case, look, my love. You just have to do what you did then. This is no different."
....
He's right. I just have to think back to what I did in the play. If I do the same thing I did then, we can solve everything.
He closes his hands around mine again, guiding them up to strike.
I steel myself, hold it ready, and point the tip of the blade straight at myself.

A look at Lucifer’s thoughts during a birthday of his in the Celestial Realm, before the War. Angst ahead.
Can be found on AO3 here.
His day of creation. It was supposed to be a celebration.
“A day of commemoration in the name of our very own Morning Star!” Michael grins, raising a glass of sparkling celestial water, the rays of sun passing through it as if it were liquid diamond. The others clap and cheer in a flurry of feathers and halos, all surrounding Lucifer in adoration. Everyone always had so much admiration for him, their dazzling light-bringer.
His siblings and other fellow angels would come together around this time, singing his praises and gifting him small items to show their appreciation. It was never an extravagant affair – above all, their duties as angels came before anything else, and parties were for the immoral. Lucifer didn’t mind – he enjoyed the calm moments, whenever he could get away from his usual long list of responsibilities and making sure his siblings weren’t up to too much trouble.
So then why did today feel so … empty?
It was a question he already knew the answer to, but acknowledging it would force him to face a truth that he had been trying so hard to push away.

It was a rare moment of serenity in the House of Lamentation, most of its residents not having yet returned after a day of classes. You lounge now beside the Avatar of Lust, who was busy regaling his adventures of the day and the interesting stories he had heard whispered in the halls of RAD. Head resting on his shoulder, you watch as he scrolls through various photos on Devilgram on his D.D.D., a never-ending stream of notifications popping up at the top of the screen all the while.
Asmodeus suddenly taps on one in particular, and you realize it’s for the group chat shared by the seven demon brothers. You watch as Satan’s messages come in, feeling laughter bubble up in your chest as everyone realizes the grave error the wrathful demon had just made.
His eyes are ragged in their sockets, weary of reading through the pages upon pages of paperwork. It's been a long day, made longer still by yet new piles of paperwork upon his desk for various repairs needed from damage caused by his very own brothers. The words are starting to blur together at this point, but he can hardly take a moment to rest with all the work he still needs to get through.
Head feeling as bleary as his eyes, his fingers nonetheless manage to glide smoothly across his phone screen with deftness. "Come to my room, now."
You arrive at the door a few minutes later, a fresh cup of coffee in hand, knowing that for him to call you to his room at this hour means he is either very tired, or very drunk. Possibly both, some nights, but on this one, you're met with plain exhaustion, his head falling wearily upon your shoulder almost as soon as he opens the door.
"Oh love, come on," you say sweetly, pushing the mug of warm, darkly bitter liquid gently into his hands as you try to guide him towards one of the various seats around his room. "You need a break. Or better yet, a good night's sleep?"
"I don't have time for sleep," he grumbles in a low breath, though he surrenders quickly enough to the plush cushions of a nearby sofa.
"Yes, yes," you answer, comfortingly brushing your hand through his hair. "Well, take a break for coffee then, at least. I'll get you a snack, too. You can't keep running on fumes like this, Lucifer."
Before you can turn to leave, however, he grasps your hand to stop you. "No, I don't need that," he protests wearily. "I'm fine. Just come over here, sit next to me. Let me hear your voice a while. That will give me more energy than any food is going to." An extra groan escapes him as he adds, "Besides, if the past few days are anything to go by, Beel will probably have eaten everything in the kitchen as a midnight snack already. Again."
Cuddling against him on the seat so he can rest his head upon your shoulder, you do as he asks, chatting about various things. His murmurs in response seem to get quieter and quieter, until he goes silent altogether aside from the gentle huffs of his breathing.
Even the Avatar of Pride looks peaceful when he's asleep like this, you think, though you're sure he'd hate to hear you say it aloud. Moonlight rests upon his cheek from the windows, highlighting just how deep the bags under his eyes have gotten from the recent spate of work. For a moment, you think it'd be nice to get him to sleep properly in his actual bed, but he'll likely just go back to his papers if you try to get him to move now. A hopeless workaholic, truly.
With a wry smile to yourself, you run your hand through his hair again and brush a light kiss across his forehead, before letting your own eyes flutter closed. "A good night's sleep, Lucifer," you whisper teasingly, nuzzling your cheek against him as you cuddle in closer. "Rest well, my love."

It stings, the way the smoke infiltrates his senses and tightens his throat. A demon such as he should be used to the feeling of flames and sulfur, smoke and ash – but this was no ordinary hellfire. A wave of his hand, and the smoke begins to curl away from him, wispy tendrils dissipating into the shifting shadows of the forest.
“How strange.” A murmur behind him from the Devildom prince. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen a forest fire that appears and vanishes so quickly before.”
“Surely it must be the doing of some magical creature.” Lucifer responds, crimson eyes narrowing as he studies their surroundings. “Though if even you cannot recognize this type of magic, it’s difficult to assess just what we are dealing with here.”
jksgvdsl this is so late that literally a whole entire new OM game has come out since, I am SO sorry for the delay on this one!!
"The more the diamond glitters, the more it can deceive." - Lucifer
(Nightbringer 8-A spoilers below the cut!)
It's a beautiful day in the Celestial Realm. Light shimmers off the ground like magic, and a gentle wash of warm sunlight glows upon everything in sight. Greenery entwines itself elegantly over the splendid white marble of the palace. It's the kind of day that reminds Lucifer of everything that makes the Celestial Realm so lovely. His home, the only home he's ever known. The only one he's ever wanted to know. Beautiful, shining. Perfection.
Just like he's supposed to be.
That's why, the first time Lucifer had descended to the Devildom, he was sure he would not be impressed. His landing seemed to confirm it -- the soil was awful, the chaos too noisy, the endless dark of the sky casting a veneer of unease over everything.
And then there were the demons -- wicked, abominable monsters, tricky and untrustworthy. There wasn't a moment to let his guard down., in a place like this. The demon prince had greeted him warmly, sure. The prince's butler was ever smiling and polite to him, if a tad derisive about the angel's alarm at the blackberry filling inside his cake. But Lucifer refused not to be too careful. He knew all about the ways demons used their honeyed words to manipulate the innocent into doing their bidding.
So certainly, the prince's goals, as he described them, seemed lofty and admirable -- a shining future for the betterment of all. But the more the diamond glitters, the more it can deceive. Demons are not to be trusted. Isn't that right?
Yet it is he himself, the illustrious morning star of the Celestial Realm, who finds himself lying and deceiving lately. The ideals that the demon prince espouses, suspicious as their speaker may be, do seem righteous, and Lucifer cannot understand why his Father keeps dismissing them out of hand. Meanwhile, his beloved sister's trial awaits, just days away, and she seems destined to find no mercy. Conflict swirls in his mind constantly, thoughts he knows he can't share with any of the other angels. Especially not with any of his fellow seraphs, his heart drifting away with the pull of his secrets -- from Michael, from Raphael, even from Simeon.
Of course, he knows how sharp Simeon can be. Easygoing though he may seem, he has never been so easily deceived. He's sure, sitting across from him even now, cheerfully chatting over tea together, that his dear friend can tell just how much has been weighing on his mind, even if he doesn't know exactly what that weight is about.
But he doesn't ask, and for that, Lucifer is grateful.
"Raphael," Simeon says instead, "why don't you sing for us? Lucifer has been away on business so often lately, I'm sure he misses hearing your song."
The younger seraph nods seriously. His voice is clear and light as he begins, as if purifying the very air it fills with his music. Simeon, brown hair gleaming golden with sunlight, hums quietly along with a sweet smile, and reaches over to refill his friend's now-empty cup.
As the warm floral scent wafts up gently off the drink, slowly the thoughts swirling in Lucifer's head begin to finally melt away -- at least for now. At least for today. He can let himself have this -- one beautiful, shining day in the Celestial Realm, relaxing with his closest friend and just enjoying the perfection of it all.
Soon, he thinks to himself. Soon, there will be no more lies. No more deception.
