"oh you know him"
id: a tweet from pop tingz. "max announces the release of the 'luigi mangione: the ceo killer' documentary on february 17th."
hey! just a reminder this alleged "ceo killer" hasn't been convicted of anything, hasn't even gone to trial, was taken into custody without being dna tested or fingerprinted (what fingerprints they did find near the scene were entirely circumstantial), didn't have any contact with legal rep before his extradition hearing, and wasn't identified as a facial match by the fbi's top notch ai software. just don't watch this doc, it's bound to be full of bullshit just like tmz.
I hope tha when Luigi is proven innocent by doing absolutely nothing, he turns around and sues everyone who engaged in this sort of assumption of guilt for millions of dollars, enough that he never has to worry about his medical bills again, and he wins.
What a disgusting commercialization of the abuse the legal system.
okay. thanks
Hiding government and public services to reduce how much they're used and "prove" that they're unneeded is a tried and true Republican technique. It's not a conspiracy, these things are deliberately made difficult to access to discourage people from using them because "more use = more funding" and "less use = less funding" is how public service funding is generally decided.
Musk outright lying about "deleting" a whole IRS program for low income tax filing is just a progression of common Republican tactics. Don't fall for it.
INVETNING
"What radicalized you?"
Nothing.
I've just always held that fascism is bad and that all people deserve basic respect and human rights, along with food, healthcare, housing, and civil liberties.
And somewhere along the line, that became a radical opinion.
if I got carried away by the harpies I would accept my fate because I respect women
thanks, google ai
its kind of beyond fucked up that u don't even have to be born in the 90s to be in ur 20s anymore. like they're letting just fucking anyone be 20 now. u were born in 2004? sure yeah u can be 20 this year yeah no whatever man it's cool . what the heeellllllll
what do you mean elon musk did a nazi salute on live tv at the united states presidential inauguration twice and is now erasing the evidence off the internet by replacing the footage with the crowd cheering instead?
would be a shame if people reblogged this, wouldn’t it?
literally nothing is adding up, what is the point being made here??
The point is that United Healthcare had that much money to lose and is still operational. In fact their daily operations haven't been impacted at all by the loss. The entire value of Canada's healthcare system for 40 million people is less than that. This implies that an equivalent amount of money to what can provide a superior healthcare service than what UHC provides, to 40 million people, was moving through the United States healthcare system as pure profit margin.
In other words, a small portion of the profit margin of just one of the United States private health care companies, would be enough to pay for the full and total healthcare of every single uninsured person in the United States twice over. The implication is that the profit margins of these companies could very easily cover expanding healthcare access if we had a public healthcare system.
dear usamerican high schoolers looking for a way to resist fascism: sit through the pledge of allegiance.
no getting up. no looking at the flag.
everyone will be looking at you. you'll be sweating like a fucking hippopotamus. your teacher will sternly tell you to get up. you'll feel stupid and that maybe its not worth it because you're just a kid in a classroom. but I'm here to remind you that there are no real life consequences to detention. there are however real life consequences to resisting a thoughtless performance of nationalism.
not to talk tough but i have sat through every pledge of allegiance in my life, and that includes the bush administration's hyper-patriotic war on terror.
you can NOT be compelled to say the pledge, and that also means you can't be given the 'choice' of doing it or taking a punishment. being sent into the hall is a grey area.
if you are punishing for refusing, parents or a more sympathetic teacher (like say a history or english teacher) can step in to intercede with the principal. do not be afraid to escalate.
it is critical now of all times that you PRACTICE civil disobedience, starting small, sticking to it, and working up, this will help you learn how very much disobedience you can actually get away with in this life, which is actually a hell of a lot.
