I’ve been mulling over what to do with this blog ever since I’ve found myself settling very well and comfortably on my multi, and with the return of the show just around the corner, it’s further solified my decision: I’m moving jace to my multi. I didn’t exactly expect ever doing this after having him on his own blog for over a year, but after realizing just how long it’s been since I’ve been consistently active on him IC-wise and my immensely growing liking of my multi, it feels like the very best decision i could make for him.

I adore the guy immensely, but I’m rather tired of finding myself in a fandom that takes ASOIAF vs. GoT battles to the next level and then some. There are some incredibly inspirational and marvelous individuals in here and I’m delighted to call them my friends, but the incessant war between fans of adaptations, ships and opinions has been and remains, exceptionally draining and they don’t outdo the pros for me anymore. So it’s time to take my leave of it and return to my ‘old’ fandoms (historical eras is where I always feel most at home since Ezio) and to my old routines. It’s where I’ve always been happiest and where I’ve found that same joy and thrill again within instants when I recently returned.

Thank you for having given me a place in this fandom while I was in it, a fandom that does stem from one heck of an incredible franchise that’s come to be one close to my heart. It’s given me an introduction to the beautiful mind of Jace and a plethora of other characters I love dearly. And last, but certainly not least, thank you to all of those those who have written with me on this blog, no matter if we still talk to this day or not— you have left your footprints and I’ll remember them each fondly. Thank you, thank you, and I wish each and every single one of my followers here, the best. Thank you.

Dashboard Userstyle. // Download/Install

As to change things up a bit, this is a dashboard edit that can be safely installed with the help of Stylus (this is an extension equivalent to the old Stylish, but by a different creator and wholly safe for use), created within the same aesthetic as my themes. Simply install the Stylus extension, then navigate to the Download/Install link above and click ‘Install Style’ and voila, your dashboard has gotten a makeover.

Very, very important:

As this userstyle was created to use the same fonts as my themes (which generally do not come pre-installed on Windows or Macs), you will need to download two fonts as to view this dashboard userstyle as it was created to be viewed; here are the needed links:

As an added note: This entire userstyle consists of weeks and weeks of hard work and as a result, it spans over 7500 lines of code. So while I can try to help with various small alterations, I’ll be incredibly picky as nothing in it is a small endeavor by any means.

Consider this a little bit of an early Christmas present, but primarily as yet another thank you to each and every single one of you that has found an interest in my aesthetic, my style and my themes as a whole. My sole intention at the very beginning was to merely release the theme I’d made for myself, but never did I think I’d release more after that. But the community’s interest, appreciation and overall support has been utterly inspiring. And in each of you, I’ve found a reason to continue releasing these. From the bottom of my heart, my sincerest and endless thank you’s.

I know that I must sound repetitve at this point, but here we go again: here’s another fully functional container theme with customizable popup pages. This theme IS MADE SPECIFICALLY TO BE EXTREMELY NON-CODER FRIENDLY because of meta tag usage, which allows all of the work (including popup pages) to be done in the customization instead of the coding itself. 

Important note: Unlike its predecessors, this more minimalistic variant of my container theme does not require photoshop to set up the images. To simpify it for you guys further, I made it so that you can directly upload your chosen images into the theme, limiting the amount of work to potentially mere cropping, for which I’d recommend imageresize, the included default BG upon installation informs you of the ideal cropping dimensions.

Other important notes/help/commonly addressed issues:

1. POPUP PAGES NOT APPEARING? Go into your blog’s settings and make sure that the option ‘ALWAYS SERVE BLOG OVER SSL‘ is turned off, in other words, it needs to be grayed out, LIKE SO. This option has the tendency to interfere with a lot of coding, including popup pages and music players.

2. In regards to your popup pages. <h1> text here </h1>  is the code needed for general headers. While subheaders are created by wrapping your text with <h4> text here </h4>

3. If you utilize the boxes on the customization page for your popup pages, I’m aware that they are a little wonky. Sadly, this is something on Tumblr’s end and therefore out of my control. I would suggest writing what you want in a program such as Notepad or Wordpad and then copying it over into the respective boxes.

But the truth is also that I’m going to be absolutely thrilled to be able to release this dashboard edit soon after potentially a few more days of intense testing. I’ve been staring at this dark dashboard for a while now that my eyes feel so alive and the default Tumblr dash colors ruin me in more ways than one. It doesn’t look exactly like my container themes, but the vibe is definitely there on some level. And dashboard text-wrapping and such will be released in a separate userstyle, but both will find themselves uploaded soon. Bless, bless, bless— and I also have a concept for a next container theme (a minimal version) ready that can work with two variants and I’m on top of the coding world even if it’s driving me semi-looney (but in all honesty, it’s when I seem to function best)

So I went through two entire blogs, this one and Jace’s which contains a relatively ‘on the road to some severe physical activity but will riiiight stop before it’ thread that uses no vulgar words and nothing got flagged except one reblog of a photoset that shows a bare chest. Do I judge the latter a little? I do, and while frustrating— I do understand that their algorithms currently may be a little excessive and that they’re likely overtuned as to remove most actual NSWF content, before, as it always seems to happen with these things, it’s tuned down. Will there be instances for people where you see random things flagged? Yes, but I wouldn’t worry in the long run, but I would recommend deleting the flagged posts as to not risk extended violation of their guidelines as it stands at current. Avoid vulgar words or ones that contain vulgar words in them, plain and simple— if you write or reblog a lot of NSWF content, then of course this hits you and there are kids on here and I do understand it from a legal point of view, even if there are filters, Tumblr needs to cover their own behinds.

Do I judge Tumblr for delaying this for as long as they have and that it’s as excessive as it is? Yes. Do I understand how filters and algorithms work and that, to cover themselves now, they have to overtune? I do, which is why I understand on some level. But considering what type of stuff I’ve posted and how I’ve had one reblog flagged thus far, shows that there is some sense of logic in it. Just remember how filters work, they’ll flag vulgar words– so anything referencing or containing the word, even very daily-used ones, will be flagged and welcome to technology.

But when he speaks, she raises her head, hands clasped in front of her, face hard. Her breaths are shallow, she dares not breathe in too much of this room, too much of the energy between them, 

“Jonathan,” she says. The name feels wrong, but she must believe that Jace Wayland, her son, had never existed, or this will break a piece of her off. “We need to discuss some things. Namely, what happened while I was away,” she swallowed, and carefully looked at him. She could see, now, how naive she’d been, how unwittingly she’d played into Valentine’s hands (wasn’t that a broken record? Maryse, twisted and bent by the heartstrings by the same man again). She could see his haughty way of standing, his unassuming grace–not one put on, but the kind that was still, ingrafted, saying, look at me. I know you know how great I am. Hindsight granted her superhuman vision now. “And we need to discuss what will be done with you in the future.”

The fatigue weighed heavily on his shoulders, on his person; the easy grace within his posture was also finding itself slowly burdened, a victim to this uncertainty of his life now, of his past. The emotional and mental tire were leaving his features marked and scarred with tight lines and shadows that relentlessly darkened the hollow of his eyes, which, in all irony, only seemed to empower the light of the gold that sat within them further, it was an almost blazing contrast. But wasn’t that also him at his essence as he stood here? A slow brewing volatile mixture within heart and mind as she spoke the name that she, herself, had abandoned calling him long ago— had she ever called him it again since he had departed that boat and entered this Instistute? The hollow within his stomach grew at the recollection that he didn’t believe her to ever have, Jace was the name that she had given him.

So he reacted in mirror, ever so in her mirror; with distance awarding distance if it was what she craved, but also as if it were the most natural of reactions, simultaneously denying her inquiries of any acknowledgement, “Do you remember the song that you used to sing,” Remaining upright, he glanced down at her, determination present in the depths of his voice, despite occasional pauses, “—to Alec and to Isabelle— the one to get them to fall asleep when they were afraid of the dark? I heard you through the walls.” And it was as he spoke, slow and steady, that the gut-wrenching reality of his words hit him, but in almost Lightwood-fashion, any visible sign of it seemed so minor, yet part of him wondered why it hit him so; for he had never really been her son, had he? And never her a mother, “You never sang it to me."

For five days in a row, have i been working on this. First userstyle ever, you can bet your bottom dollar on the fact that I’m mentally exhausted, but this stuff’s teaching me that I have a heck of a lot more sanity than I continuously joke to have. Anyway, beyond a friend or two, I’m looking for a handful of people to test-drive this tumblr dashboard userstyle for me; you know, one or two pairs of eyes can’t catch as much as numerous of them could. There are some notes however, this may not be grand for creatures of habit, as it is the total and complete opposite of Tumblr’s default dashboard appearance. It is intended to be extremely dark (similarly to my container themes) and it’s very minimal, I’ve liberally hidden many impractical and redudant elements of the default Tumblr interface, so if you have some trouble giving up things you’re very accustomed to (even if you may not always use said elements), this may not be for you. If you like this post or contact me, consider the chance very high that I’ll send over what you’ll need to set this up (a notepad with some code and instructions, really) through IM or Discord/Skype if I have you on there. Anyone else who’s curious about trying it but isn’t too fond of the idea of testing, fret not, as if everything goes semi-smoothly, it’ll be released before next weekend!

It’s still a WIP, but this is my sanity project (although it has me losing massive sanity. It’s okay, I don’t get it either). Fun story of how/why I even got into this?

Me: Icons will forever look diffrent on Tumblr than they do in Photoshop. Shae: Probably because you use the dark Photoshop interface and Tumblr’s light. Me: /tests it out through turning the posts black. ... You’re right. Me 5 mins later: /looks into userstyles and attempts to create one for the first time Me two days later with a roughly 80% done userstyle: Should I release this one day if it isn’t too glitchy?

I have a lot of things and people to respond to and I promise I’ll do so very soon, but there’s something I need to mention quickly before finishing up chores and some leftover work that has had me fuming since yesterday.

This 3 column theme that I’m using on two of my blogs and have passed onto a few certain individuals is an unreleased theme. This means that it is not available for use by the general public at this time. For the love of sanity, respect my decision as a content creator to release things when and if I see fit. It’s incredibly infuriating that people decide to be so disrespectful when I feel like I already offer more than enough. Honestly, I work so hard on these themes. I work so incredibly hard to make them as user-friendly and clean as I possibly can— I put in countless of hours for the sole purpose of helping people out. Heck, I offer to make backgrounds for my container themes for people if they have no access to Photoshop FOR FREE. And I ask no compensation whatsoever, none. And I get to see people who find that what I do isn’t enough and decide to be greedy? It has me fuming, fuming.

So here’s the deal, it’s all very simple, if I see people attempt to recreate this theme (or any that I make for personal use and haven’t released) by going into my code and doing some copy/paste work, I will contact you and if you refuse to remove it, I will run the issue by Tumblr and rest assured, as my work is copyrighted— that I have zero qualms about pursuing it beyond that and I’m very well within my rights to do so.
