Two tools, representing two concepts which are critical to Freemasons. The Chisel, and the Trowel. One separates, the other unifies. Ā It is important to know how, why, and when a Mason should apply one or the other. And when we err, it is usually the case that we failed to apply the proper one, at the opportune time. Ā ;) Ā Robert Herd~
Long ago on the first day, Darkness fell fully and hopelessly in love with Light...but she rejected him. Deeply hurt, his love still present but only just underneath the pain. An eternal pain of love never allowed to be. He lingers still, always near her, always around her, he envelopes her, but he does not interfere with her brightness. He shyly hides behind everything she touches only rarely seeming to compliment her and always giving her as much space as she is wanting. Ā This is why the weakest candle is always seemingly more powerful than the strongest darkness and the tiniest of lights can dispel so much darkness.
āI had very soon seen that analytical psychology coincided in a most curious way with alchemy. The experiences of the alchemists were, in a sense, my experiences, and their world was my world. This was of course, a momentous discovery: I had stumbled upon the historical counterpart of my psychology of the unconscious. The possibility of comparison with alchemy, and the uninterrupted intellectual chain back to Gnosticism, gave substance to my psychology. When I pored over those old texts, everything fell into place: the fantasy-images, the empirical material I had gathered in my practice, and the conclusions I had drawn from it. I now began to understand what these psychic contents meant when seen in historical perspective.ā ~C.G.Jung
Reject your sense of injury and the injury itself disappears.

Abandon all maps if you dare, if you can, my fellow traveler...For the path with Heart leads well beyond any possible map. And in the twisting journey, we discover what we were searching for all along...Ourselves. Ā
Jacob Nordby ~ A Tale of Awakening
So few are taught, and many of those quickly forgot of the Sacred Space we wrought...
Our fair Lodges represent the Sanctum Sanctorum, the Holy of Holies. A spiritual and Godly place. Is this a space to tell your crude jokes and crass commentary? To use such space to force anything of yours upon others, much less your politics, your dogma, control issues, or more especially crude and base biases. How could one think that? A place we consecrate as a literal edifice to the Glory of the Grand Architect and HIS plan. A place we dedicate ourselves, and Initiate and dedicate others to the ideal of The Golden Rule, and of Thy Will Be Done...not just mine. Discussions of Logic and Reason have their place in our halls because they are valid and useful tools of education to raise our thoughts words and actions to those higher ideals of Faith of Hope and of Charity. Not for base arguments, ego, or attacks, but revolving around the One simplest yet most powerful lesson of Love. Reverence is lost when we forget the symbology of our own Sacred Space. Exchanged for a common room for common meetings of no great import. I admit I make a vast generalization by these comments but I can't help but feel a profound sadness when I encounter this loss of reverence, the loss sadly of even respect in some cases. We lose a portion of our direction and purpose when we forget or ignore this key symbolic attribute of our Lodges. Ā R~Herd

CVM. PATIENTIA (with Patience).Ā
Ourobouros: āSerpens qui caudam devoratāĀ (serpent that eats its tail) represents many things, including totality,Ā the cycle of life, and the āconjunctio oppositorumā- the union ofĀ opposites. āCum patientiaā sums up the struggle between self-knowledge and self-deception.
epiphany
(noun) As one of the most beautiful words in the English lexicon, the word epiphany is a rare existence in language, where its definition, its phonetic, and its aesthetic complement each other. An epiphany is defined as a sudden revelation, a burst of insight, which is usually bestowed upon one by a small occurrence. When the word epiphany reaches oneās lips, instinctually one thinks of something grandiose and enlightening; it is an ethereal feeling. Therefore, epiphany sounds beautiful, possesses a profound meaning and looks lovely on paper.Ā (via wordsnquotes)
Night after night, day after day, I create myself. It is never easy. Long nights I have lain awake, days I have waited, long hours I have toiled, lost in myself, contemplating or completing the next necessary step. I wage a battle against darkness both within and without, against my own ignorance, the ignorance of others, my resistance to change, my hatred of the faults of others because of the reflection of them in me and my sentimental attachment to my own flaws. Pretenders sometimes come but always go. I'm often alone, but not lonely on this path. I have my working tools, I have my lessons, my loves, and most of all my own thoughts. I mostly keep silent, but often I yearn to roar. ~Robert Herd
