somewhat inspired by my fave Prof's comment abt me always wearing my docs but also wearing cute/fun/funky socks with em XD

Meet Bressal! (said Breh-sahl, w emphasis on the 'ah') a tiefling druid who's a gentle giant, has the 'tism, and is also a spoonie!
She's pretty tall, but still, her long-spear is about 9.5 feet long! an it has a stone blade (for lore reasons)
some art process an rambling abt her design below the cut :)
Prince Sameth of the Old Kingdom carrying Mogget via backpack....
The fact that a bunch of ppl like n are reblogging this makes me SO happy! 🥺
Cuz I don't know many ppl irl who even know about this series!!!!
seriously. it's me, my Mum who introduced the series to me in the first place, and one other friend that me an my Mum turned onto those books XD
Prince Sameth of the Old Kingdom carrying Mogget via backpack....
More Niamh the witch and her familiar, Buttercup :)
Niamh Melefour! (Niamh is said like Eve with an 'n' at the beginning)
125yr old Albino Drow, Height: 5'3"
Herbalist, and Witch with a Wilding Patron (Pathfinder)
She owns Feverfew Apothecary in the city of Horseplain (you'd never guess, but the city was built on a plain where there were a lot of horses... I love my GM)
Niamh is almost never seen without her well-loved floppy straw hat and her long hair always falling out of a low messy bun
Her familiar (and esa) is a brown and white winged rat named Buttercup:)
Absolute cinnamon roll, could probably kill you if needed
What if I jus started rambling abt my DND characters n include concept sketches......
Ya know the lil court jester meme?
Well... there are many, many times irl where I make that shit-eating grin with those blinky-blink eyes right before or after dropping a "hilarious and/or wildly inappropriate" bomb
plus the cropped version I edited in my photos app as an emoji for friends... XD
Uhhh.....
.....
Guess who survived? :D
Here's all my art from my ONE SEMESTER class!!! minus one 3'x4' painting that got in the student juried show!!! (below the cut plus a close up of the big piece!)
materials used: oil paint, charcoal, conte crayon,
OH BOI, I HAVEN'T UPDATED ON THESE IN A HOT SEC, LOL
Welp! in real time I've built and started priming for piece number 6!
Lol, both are upside-down for most of the pics
Pieces 4 and 5 outta 6!
the first one there is 3.5'x3' and the other is 3'x4'
jus started adding (very subtle) color to the second one :)
ah yes, the set-up of my station in the studio: completely feral. I chose the kinda wobbly stool (is not that bad) cuz I like to rock back n forth n balance on it. ver satisfying
n I found a cool sycamore stick, so that lives there now, too
For scale, here's me with the first three pieces :-3
top left is 3'x4', bottom left is 3.5'x3', n the one on the right is 3.5'x3.5'
featuring: The Coke Line (of charcoal dust and eraser crumbs.... it ever grow-eth....)
I keep joking that imma snort the line in victory and triumph when I finish the series.... XD
Added some very neutral color via color charcoal to the second n third pieces, n now I've got three basically done!!!!
currently working on four and five, and there's gonna be an even BIGGER sixth piece!!! it gonna be the first one but 4'x6' ish, n imma incorporate oil paint!!!! :DDD
Omigosh I've been busy in my sketchbook and in the studio!!!
Sooooo, I'm crazy.
Next big project for painting class is all self-generated work, so, like a maniac, I decided I wanted to try to do a series. n the goal was to start w charcoal drawing n then paint over it in oils (after spray fixative)
I decided I'm doin FIVE. two of em are 3'x4'....
Aaaanywho, I've started two, an I'm bouncing between em. my Prof actually ran out of lumber for making the other three cradled panels, so we're doin that in a bit
a lil bfore and after of a large piece of vine charcoal and stick of compressed charcoal
I'm using vine charcoal, compressed charcoal, and a liiiiiiitle bit of grey conte crayon! a lot of the smudgy-er marks at using my eraser as a blending/mark making tool!!!
.... I'm REALLY enjoying the drawings so far
very much WIP
And a bit more on this...
Started piece number 2 today!!!! 3.5'x3.5'
Started working on the reflection one upside down so my brain can*see* again XD
And here we see the ever growing coke-line of charcoal dust and eraser crumbs beneath one of my pieces.
I've decided I'll snort the entire line, in victory, once I've completed the series. jkjk
the square is still upside down bc it's a problem child
the other one finally won the privilege to be upright. it's still a total punk tho.
Perspective? I barely know her!
Niamh chilling n catching up w friends! Mads n Arrel! Buttercup's jus chillin on the table, but bugs em for pets occasionally
speaking of Buttercup, did a couple studies of her frm ref pics, n used refs of pigeon wings for her wings!
lol, more DnD drawings!!!! :DDD
Izzy is one of my friend's NPCs, n she is BABY!
Sooooo, I'm crazy.
