“GOOD THING I’M A ONE-MAN ARMY THEN, AIN’T IT?”
A one-man army with one hell of a throwing arm.
Feathers fluff-- and a look of ‘One Fear’ came into his features. Waitwaitwait- “W-Wait a minute!”
He’s not prepared, and he’s definitely not a one-man army, but at least his wings are an okay shield... until they get too cold! Time to duck and cover and try to get what he can in, but at least he’s got some accuracy on his side!
Baby, it's cold outside|| Open
"Aahhh... Its so cold out..." Miu mumbled, glancing out the coffee shop window. "One more day of work, and then I can get a break..." Fortunately, the snow seemed to be taking a break, but he still shivered at the thought of stepping out again... Still, the soft buzz of people moving around inside, and the heat of the coffee cup at hand made it all just a little better.
A few hours in the snow, then he could go home and warm up again... A few hours, he could deliver his package load today in only a few hours... Miu tried convincing himself. Every time his eyes strayed to the door, however, he just sighed. It was simply too cold for him to find the motivation to go to work...
“It looks like it’s snowing a bit heavier now...”
shapeshifting-hero-zion:
“Hey, it’s alright. You can wonder. It’s most likely a bunch of American snacks with a gift like a blanket or something.” He shrugged.
“I was born in Alaska actually, but I moved to Iowa with my family when I was 17-ish.”Zion grinned at him kindly, giving off the impression that he was laid back.
“America and Japan are pretty different, especially the quirk laws. In America it’s fine to use your quirk in public as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone or for defense. They figured it fell under the first and second amendments; freedom of expression and the right to bear arms.”
A little relieved, Miu nibbled on a cookie, shifting to carefully... Sit just inside the door. He felt a little strange being so tall and leaving his host looking up at him while they chatted, and he wanted to try and finish these treats before he went out again. “Alaska... That’s the one not really connected to America, but Canada, right?” He wondered, trying to remember his geography from school.
“I remember that... sometime in the past, America wouldn’t let Japan have a mobilized military, and so on... I wonder if that was in part of why we made our laws like we did.” Some sort of world war, and so on. “Good thing I can use mine for work- I would be out of a job if I was stuck to ground travel all the time.” A small smile.
shapeshifting-hero-zion:
“Oh man, that suuuuucks, and yeah, I’ll manage once I’m back to normal.” He smiled softly to assure him.
“I figured it would be nice for you to warm up a little after all that you’ve gone through by delivering packages. I didn’t really expect one so I assume mine is from family in America.” He was so glad that they were able to still send things to him, and that he could call them.
Ah- back to normal would probably mean an easier time shoveling, to which he hoped the other man would be able to change back soon. Sipping gingerly from the cup, Miu let out a slow sigh, enjoying the warmth from it. “America?” He blinked eyelids back open to peer back down at Menagerie, a soft hum leaving him.
“That must be really nice, getting things from family even though they’re so far away. I wonder what it is.” He wondered, and then suddenly gave a tiny bow, trying to not spill anything or drop a cookie. “S-Sorry, it’s none of my business, really!”
shapeshifting-hero-zion:
“Yup~! That’s me, the shapeshifting hero.” He went to go and get him some tea and two cookies. He liked visitors.
“I don’t look much like a hero right now, do I? I can still work in this form, but I can’t do much as far as combat goes depending on the quirk of the other person.” He had no idea that Miu did illegal activities, but that wasn’t for here anyway.
“I know what you mean about the snow. I’m not looking forward to shoveling later.” He made a face at the idea.
“At least I can make a snowman though or something since the snow’s wet enough.” He came back with a cup of tea and two sugar cookies that were shaped like snowmen and decorated as such.
“Shapeshifting... That must be a nice quirk.” Miu murmured, mostly to himself. He was still a bit of a kid when it came to learning about other peoples’ quirks, imagining himself with them and what he’d do. That was sort-of not as frequent for him, anymore, after coming to terms with his own abilities in the past years. It had been his favourite game as a kid...
“A-Are you... able to shovel like that?” He didn’t mean to be rude, but he couldn’t help but be concerned for the man who was... apparently stuck as a cat for the time being. He leaned down again to accept the tea and cookies, immediately bringing the cup up to rest it against his cheek. Ahh... warmth. He looked forward to a hot shower later.
“I think I’ll need to work on the little snow bird I was making this morning, now that it’s been this heavy for a while...” The man murmured, sighing softly. “Thank you very much for this... Half of my delivery recipients weren’t even home today.” He’d waited around a lot more than he should have to, today.
shapeshifting-hero-zion:
“Would you like to try and step in? You can warm up a little. I made some cookies pretty recently as well if you like sugar cookies. I made them before I got stuck like this the other day so they should still be pretty good.” He smiled kindly and gestured for him to come in. He figured the other would appreciate getting warmed up since it was chilly out.
Perking up just that little bit more, Miu nodded a few times. “Y-Yes, please, thank you!” Ahh, a bonus. Maybe he’d less likely to crash land into a snowdrift on his way back to the office to drop his things off before he headed home... With a great shiver, the wings furled up and seemed to fold right into his coat, and disappeared underneath like they weren’t there at all. Admittedly, now there were open holes in the back of his shirt and coat that were inviting more cold in, but he’d be inside soon enough.
“Thank you for this, Mister...” A pause, checking some of his slips for a moment. “A-Ah, Menagerie.” A Hero. Miu felt a little bubble of nervousness in his gut at that. He normally didn’t pay who he delivered things to any mind, but knowing that some of his not-work-related activities were a little... Well, illegal, he didn’t spend a lot of time around Pro Heroes intentionally. “...I wasn’t, um... Expecting as much snow as there is out there.”
Continued from Here.
shapeshifting-hero-zion:
“It’s okay…I’m usually 6′2 to be honest, but due to a little accident I’m stuck like this for a while.” He signed it with his signature which looked like a freaking scribble, but it was his. He then added the time.
“Oh! I was just making some tea by the way. Would you like some to go or something since it’s so cold out there? It’s black tea. I can give you some cream and sugar packets too if you want.”
Miu took the scribble as a signature just fine, pleased that the time was much more legibly written. He was still a little early- it wasn’t quite Seven PM yet, and things started getting on the late side at Seven-Thirty... Good. An accomplishment, with all this snow...
“Hmm?” Tea? The delivery man visibly perked up just a little. “I-I mean, if it’s okay? I’d love some- cream and sugar, as well.” Tucking his clipboard away again, Miu shifted his coat a little. “Do you want me to wait right here, or I can put these away and step in for a bit?” He jerked his thumb back at his wings, which were about as every indicator of how cold it was as his reddened nose and cold-pinked cheeks. Big, fluffy, and definitely not making it through the doorway easily.
A soft knock at the door echoed into the space, the man outside waiting patiently. He usually gave it a minute or two, feathers ruffling in the chill of the outdoors, before he'd find a nook to tuck the package in. Holiday times were the busiest, though, and he really hoped this person would answer soon... It was his last delivery and he was pretty sure his face was numb, despite the warm coat and scarf he wore. -Inkedfeathers
He rushed to the door on all fours before standing up to straighten his fur and open it. He was stuck like a cat, and hoped it wouldn’t affect interactions… His eyes lit up when he saw the other with a package.
“Good afternoon~!”he chirped with a smile.
To be honest, when the door opened, he was looking dead ahead- maybe a foot shorter. That was the usual height of a majority of his customers. He’d heard the voice, too, but the confusion on his face was clear. Miu looked left, and then right, and then slowly drew his gaze downwards.
“O-Oh! I’m sorry! I wasn’t expecting-- Sorry...!” He tried to not be so rude, but some peoples’ quirks startled him at times. Still, Miu made what was hopefully the appropriate gesture, and he knelt down to offer up the package. “Um- Can you sign here for me, please?” He wondered, pulling the clipboard he had tucked in his carrying bag. “With the time, so the boss knows I didn’t get caught up too much in the snow.”

“You came to save me!”
“What took you so long?”
“Wait–did you come without backup?”
“Ha ha ha ha! I thought I was gonna die.”
“Why’d you come? I could’ve handled this on my own.”
“Thanks for coming…I really owe you one.”
“Wait…you didn’t bring your weapons?”
“I was so scared…”
“Let go of me! I can do this on my own!”
“YOU came? We’re so screwed.”
“I’m okay…”
“Shit–it hurts–”
“Don’t worry about me. Where is everyone?”
“I’ll be fine. You go take care of the civilians/bad guys/monster.”
“Don’t LEAVE me!”
“I’ve never been so happy to see you.”
“Hey–I don’t think I can walk.”
“…this is gonna sound stupid, but did you bring any food with you?”
The Rescuer
“I finally found you!”
“Sorry it took so long–had to take a detour.”
“I’m here. You’re welcome.”
“Glad to see you survived until I got here.”
“I would never leave you hanging.”
“Stop criticizing me! No one else came.”
“Yeah, there’s no way I’m helping you next time.”
“You’re safe now.”
“Don’t worry, I’ve got you.”
“Hey–shut UP, I’m here to help!”
“I could’ve sworn I brought more weapons with me…Oh well.”
“You don’t look so good.”
“I wish I came earlier! You’re all scratched up.”
“Stay here. I’ll go get help.”
“DON’T move. I need to catch that guy/lady/person.”
“We have to get out of here. There’s a bomb.”
“Hey, how many fingers am I holding up?”
“Hold on, I’ll carry you.”
