[on how the reunion happened]Ā āIt was a barbecue. We did an MCR barbecue in 2017 just to get the kids together, and we hadnāt seen each other for likeā¦two years, something like thatā¦ And um, we just kinda hung out. We didnāt play any music, we didnāt do anything like that. We were just like, āWhy donāt we hang out anymore?ā It just took some time, you know?
āAnd I think maybe a year later, we got the barbecue together again, and then we played some music. And it was really fun. And I probably have a phone recording of it, somewhere, just for us. No one will ever see. But that was the first time we played anything, and we played, like maybe five or six songsā¦just jamming. And I think our wives were thereā¦it was in California, at Geeās house.
āIt was nerve-wracking, like, going into it.Ā āCause itās like, weāre friends again, weāre in each othersā lives again, but we havenāt made notes, we havenāt made noise together. Like, that could change the dynamic. Do you want to sacrifice the goodā¦what we have now..? And it just ended up being the best thing in the world, so we were like,Ā āOh, this is really awesome. We should do this. This is really fun to do.
āThe two years of justā¦kinda talking and dancing around it, and then we really, I think, decided in 2019āif we were ever going to do it, we had to do it that year because that was the shot call. We did the reunion show, and then we were like, āThis would be fun to do again and again, if we did it on our own terms.ā Weāve been really lucky to be able to do it the way we do it.ā
