Giving back to the society is not everyone’s cup of tea ,neither does a common man think on those terms ,for him ‘HIS’ career ‘HIS’ family and ‘Him’ are of utmost importance and the world revolves around nothing less and nothing beyond .
Roads Untraveled with Rabia Patel where she shows us all the ‘beyond’, the beyond of self absorption, the beyond of self obsession and the beyond of one’s own affairs.
“Ink matters to me too” says she ,who has authored a book called ‘Women of Substance’ which aims to inspire and inculcate the ability to be a doer and a go getter irrespective of the circumstances .
The book in itself is a journey where the author walks us through the lives of people who were a stubborn to not give in or give up but to stretch the wings and fly beyond the horizon with no radar and no boundaries.
“people I see in my everyday life and their experiences is what ignited me to author a book called Women of Substance “she says .
“Behind every successful woman is a man “ she beams , she was brought up by a single parent ,her father whom she is very proud of and her husband who stands by her in all her decisions .
“Men have been an integral part of my life in the form of my father ,my hubby and my male colleagues “ says she .
“ I started my career with Life Insurance Corporation of India a decade back where I was the only female to have gotten selected among the numerous male counterparts”. she says with pride ,and she is still associated with LIC and loves it to bits .
“ I love meeting new people who visit the office for an insurance product, that excites me to go to the office everyday “ is her love for her career that has been with her since forever.
Everything was happening in her life as it had to be in anybody’s everyday life ,a career , a loving hubby and a peaceful household ,and it was only easy to be content and satisfied in a painting of life like that without any prospective beyond.
But Rabia was not the one who would walk away quietly and merge among the crowd ,she was a doer a game changer a risk taker and takes on life as an adventure every day and boy she enjoys and celebrates life like none other .
The zest that she had in her to travel a meaningful journey through the odds of the normalcy was the beginning of an era to give back to the society to the needy to the deprived and the under privileged people around her gave rise to
‘Rabiaz Walk for a Cause’ ,where anybody from any background and any age limit or size can walk the ramp for a high profile fashion show which is graced by socialites and celebrities .
The people who walk the ramp can just be anybody not necessarily models ,the contributions from the event is used for social welfare and well being of the deprived .
‘Rabiaz Walk for a Cause’ instils confidence in people to be the change and to make a difference to the society that they live in ,and our boss lady not only decided to make her journey of life meaningful but also her clan .
Rabia Patel could have taken up any hobby if she wanted to unwind or de stress ,but the fact is that she never needed to unwind or rejuvenate at all .
“I love what I do and I’m very passionate about it all ,be it my career or my social work ,I enjoy every moment of it that I want to do it more ,so there is no room to de stress “ says she who is always charged up full of life as far as I’ve seen her .
But yes a shortcoming would be that “I’m not able to spend time with my family ,given my busy schedule,I’m not able to give them the attention they deserve “ ,yet her family understands her commitments and stands with her .
“ I live in a joint family” she proudly says which is a rare these days ,yet her family life had never crossed roads with her work life .
India brainy beauty pageant ,a wholesome extravaganza which is also a one of a kind pageant is the brain child of Ms.Rabia Patel where “brains do matter along with the beauty “ she smiles .

BOMBAY TIMES FASHION SHOW in association with Cancer patients aid association in order to create an awareness about the same .The event witnessed some of the biggies from the glitzy industry that included Mr.Amitab Bachchan .
Ms.Rabia thirst for human welfare has no boundaries and she is all giving at that ,has also adopted a School called Anjuman Khairul Islam which houses the deprived children and she provides them with support both monetary and emotional by taking care of their needs from time to time .
“ I’m a Mumbai girl ,I love Mumbai “ she beams and her love for the city is registered by her throughout the flow of the conversation.
She is the founder of an NGO called
Giant Group of Mumbai 1 ,which conducts food donation drives throughout the city for the less fortunate ,with the intention of not letting people die of hunger .
Even the pandemic couldn’t stop the brave hearts as ration supplies were distributed to the needy and poor at a time of crisis like now .
Ms.Rabia says “ I have been very fortunate that I receive support from the like minded people right through my journey which has made this journey possible “
“I’m a foodie I love food but cooking is not forte “ she laughs ,when asked about how she spends her ‘me’ time .
