“It’s fine. It’s in the past.” Alpha’s voice was blunt, but no more so than usual. Without turning to the stranger, he stooped down to pick up the now broken pieces of the device he’d been working on. To pass the time, he asked, “What are you even doing here? Obviously you’re not from around here.”

It was a mix to the fact the stranger sounded so plain in their words, the fact the small neko had broken something that looked important along with her anxiety that made the situation more stressful.

“I-I... I don’t know. I thought if I went through one of Grandma’s portals I would find her or....”

Instead of finishing her story he eyes welled up with tears as she realized, yes, she was lost. Very lost. Like the 10 or so year old looking child they looked like the tears started to fall and they let out a loud wail. The cat ears on their head tilting back along with their twin tails between their legs.

“I WANT TO GO HOOOOME!!”

“What happened to your face?” (avery to maybe susumu?)

“My face?” The small boy had to stop and think about what he had done recently. It wasn’t that he didn’t realize it was there he had just honestly forgotten about it. 

“Oh I had a little accident while drilling! I wasn’t paying much attention and tumbled a bit. But I’m okay!! I’ve had waaaay worse!”

It was true, he had suffered more major injuries but didn’t change the fact the dry blood wound on his face was very VERY noticeable. And of course, the more visible things were, the more people worried. Especially when it looks like he got into a scuffle with a bear.

Avery couldn’t help but wince at the wound. Sure, he’d seen - and even had - way worse. But when he didn’t know the origin, it worried him. Especially when it was his… friends? He guessed Susumu was his friend.

Knowing that it was just a drilling accident made him feel a little better. At least someone hadn’t purposely tried to hurt the other boy. He breathed out a tiny sigh of relief. 

“It looks painful… Does it still hurt?”

It was very apparent the wound still bugged Avery, they kept staring at it. Susumu felt bad but what could he really do? Put the worlds largest bandage over it? No, that would make it more obvious. Oh if only he didn’t get hurt, he wouldn’t worry his friend!

“Oh! It only hurts when I touch it. I just gotta try not touching my face, even when i get itchy. It didn't hurt tooooo much when i got it either but.. that’s probably because I have had it happen a couple times!”

“The pleasure is all mine, Miss? I do believe you have yet to introduce your name into the equation? Oh… but pardon me, my name is Klaus.”

He shakes her hand gently with a kind smile on his face. Keeping things as professional as possible with the best manors possible.

Kagome held her arm still as Klaus put the perfume on. He was such a gentleman! Meme didn’t think she’d ever met a man this sweet and polite. It was a nice change from the guys she usually dealt with. “Ah, that’s okay. Thought it wouldn’t hurt to ask.” She brought her arm to her face to smell the perfume. A wonderful scent filled her nose. She took in a deep breath, savoring the sweetness of it. “This is amazing! It’s so sweet, but not a fake sweet like in candy, and it’s not overpowering. How did you ever make this?”

“Yes no harm in asking, still I deeply apologize for the inconvenience.”

Watching people enjoy his work always made a part of him warm inside, more so when the product meant to trigger certain feelings did just as his intention. It made him feel he did something right.

“How do I make them? Well, it’s much like chemistry. And it isn’t necessarily done immediately. Lots of trial and error. I make note to write down every thing i do. From how many teaspoons I use of certain oils to when and what order.”

Klaus smiled sweetly at the younger woman. Not many people were ever actually interested in the process that was making the perfume. It was refreshing to hear to say the least for the gentleman. 

“Yes, it just requires extracting oils out of the scents you desire such as lavender. And mixing it with other oils and alcohol to enhance it.”

“Oh yeah, I’m Kagome,” the young woman says, taking Klaus’ hand. “So you’re the guy who makes perfume? My friend Mary told me to come see you. She said you made a wonderful rose and lavender perfume for her.”

He smiled sweetly, it was good to know that his name was getting around, more so the talent he was bestowed but still. He had a suitcase with him and it was very likely where all his products were, sure enough he pulled it out laying it on the nearest table. Opening it to reveal neatly arranged small viles of perfume in alphabetical order.

“Ah yes, it’s right here. It’s actually in the making, I’m in the process of adding scents to make it better. I want this one to give a relaxing romantic feel if that makes sense.”

He pulled out a pink tinted bottle, labeled R-7 most likely because it had no name yet. Considering he had said it was a prototype.

Kagome looked at the vials, inpressed by the number and variety. “Wow, that’s really cool. I bet it takes a long time to make them.” She nodded in aprroval at the R-7 bottle. “I’d like to try it out, if you don’t mind. And maybe some others. Do you have anything with dandelion?”

“I have no issue in you trying my prototype, may I?”

He pulled out the vial, his polite ask was for him to grab her arm. He did so gently and turned it over to spray some of the perfume on her wrist then putting it back into it’s proper place. 

He perused the other vials he had packed and shook his head, most likely answering her second question. “As for the dandelion, I do not. That scent is not on high demand so I didn’t bring one with me. I sincerely apologize… but i hope this one is to your liking. By all means take your time to judge it’s scent.”

Cirno posed triumphantly, hands on her hips despite completely forgetting what she did moments ago. A compliment was a compliment nonetheless.

Myo would have taken offense to the bold statement, but after seeing what she was capable of, he was secretly afraid to speak up against her. What if she froze him into a block of ice and shattered him into a million pieces? He didn’t want to die today, no sir. It seemed better for his health to stay quiet and agree with whatever she wanted to say. Maybe speaking to the girl was a mistake entirely.

It certainly didn’t help his shaken confidence when her face began to drift closer to his own, a look in her eye as if she were about to utter some accursed and forbidden word. He swallowed hard, shivering from both the cold and from his already-fraying nerves, dreadfully awaiting something awful to slip past her lips. What he didn’t expect was… that.

Butt.

In an instant, his anxiety evaporated away and he covered his mouth to stifle a giggle that threatened to bubble forth. Although, to her, it might have looked as though he were covering his mouth in shock. He just hoped that she didn’t take offense to his impulsive action…

She pouted, it fit the fact she looked at least 12 years old. But immediately made her look not a shred of intimidating. She was just another kid. One would think at first glance.

“Whaaat? What’s so funny? That I said a bad word? I bet your mom doesn’t let you say bad words! I’m a rebel!”

Finger pointed to her forehead she stood in yet another pose, was this narcissism? Or just plain ignorant bliss? Probably both, both is fine.

25. Pose for a picture

“Hold it right there,” the multi-coloured hero suddenly called out to the stranger. Bravoman hadn’t meant to sound too over-the-top, as if he were stopping a criminal, but the force in his voice came a little too naturally. To compensate for it, he offered a goofy apologetic grin and pointed to the camera in his hand. “Sorry to bug you, but would you mind if I took your picture? It’ll only take a second.”

He couldn’t help but be intrigued by the stranger. Did he really think that lowly of himself, or was his self-deprecation a show of humility? Either way, he found himself liking the older man. Sure, he didn’t seem the type who’d be into junk food and video games, but he felt like a sweet uncle-type sort of guy. Bravoman found himself wishing he’d met him sooner; it’d have been a nice change of pace from the usual jerks that he had to deal with.

“Well, Mr. Klaus, you can call me Bravoman!” He lifted up his camera and pointed to it once more. “I’m taking some nice photos of the city and the townfolk for a local paper. See, since I can get to high and hard-to-reach places, it just made sense for me to volunteer my time to help out, ya know?”

With a big smile and some hope of helping him to feel a little better about himself, he gestured to Klaus and declared, “And who better to take a picture of than a fine and handsome gentleman like yourself!”

“I am a little old fashioned to be put in a newspaper about this town mind you. I come from another town much further and, more rural then this urban lifestyle. I come into the city mostly because it helps with my business. I’m a perfumer you see. Ah... Mr. Bravoman?”

It was a strange name, was it a surname? Or some title, perhaps they were a mascot for something seeing as they were doing some form of city work.

But it was a bit rude to judge someone like that. He mentally cursed himself at the notion.

Being called out was rare, it nearly gave the older man a heart attack. For comedic sake or even just on impulse he brought his hand to his chest as if to see if it was still there. Yes, still there.

“Ah, My picture?” Once again pressing his hand to his chest though this time in a humble bow like manner, “Wouldn’t you rather me take a picture of you in such an outgoing outfit? I’d hate for you to waste your battery life taking pictures of an old man like myself?”

Bravoman’s smile was replaced by a dumbfounded look. He blinked at the much taller man in surprise, then took into a warm giggling fit. Wow, was this guy for real? He must be a real charmer in his neighborhood!

He motioned his hand at the man in a playfully dismissive manner and chirped, “Aw, shucks, mister! If you’re ‘old’ or ‘a waste of battery life’, then I’m the King of All Cosmos!”

“I beg your pardon? I’m not sure I understand what you mean by that statement but if it involves thinking I am worth that time, those are some strong words to assume such about me”

He scratched the back of his head and brought back the same hand to his mouth coughing to better his voice, “Oh, my name is Klaus. And pardon me asking, yet again... why do you require a picture of me?”

His glowing red eyes briefly flickered to the scene behind the fairy-like girl, the ground and surrounding area coated in ice spikes. She was so strong that she thought nothing of chasing off those monsters with her amazing powers? Sooo cool…

“Clones? No I mean out of everyone in general! I bet I am stronger then you! I betcha 100%. I guess some people say just stronger then most faeries but I swear that I am the best, better then the rest. You bet your....”

She looked around for a second as if being watched then leaned closer to express the word she was scared to utter.

The child jumped up and down, giddy. For a situation like such one wouldn’t expect such a reaction. But from a child who seemed to have fanged teeth and wing like protrusions maybe it was normal. A demon? Maybe.

“You can do that? Like you are allowed to do that? I like that game! But my sister doesn’t let me!”

Flan ever so gently picked up the rabbit by its ears and gave it to the complete stranger. Her sister also mentioned not talking to strangers especially humans but they didn't look human so it can’t be as bad.

“Let me watch please? Please please please pleeeease? Here I even got it for you!!”
