in my second year of uni i had an antique revolving bookcase in the corner of my room - I was a lit grad, and I had all this shelving space and a new and shiny student loan

I loved that bookcase, I offered the landlord money for it, I absolutely would have stolen it given the chance, but they are just .... it was deep enough for two layers and one was raised and it must have held a hundred books, easy, it was a library with all my books in it and then they made me give it back

and I'm not salty,

it's been a very long time but I still remain salty

the landlord picked up cheap sturdy furniture for his student housing at auctions, he'd pick up like five book cases and desks at the same time for a fraction of what it would cost in ikea

none of the furniture matched, mind you, but revolving book case
