“Regardless of how long you’ve been with the Krewe, you must know by now it is not as you expected. You have been lied to. Management detests you. You’ve seen experiments that have turned your stomach, all fueled by a philosophy of science over reason.
”You are a prisoner, and they want to mold you into a monster.
“We are the Bureau Liquidating Unjust and Technically Evil Asuran Management. This missive is an invitation for you to join us in our fight against the metakrewe. The Inquest has gone too far for too long. We will cease their operations, through any means necessary, and we need your help to do it.
There is no cause, no rationale, and no excuse for the actions of the Inquest. They subsist off the pain and suffering of all sentience in Tyria, and all for selfish gain. They will be stopped.

Under New Management - Modus Operandi [x]
[The datacrystal, of relatively pristine quality, hummed and stuttered to life upon playback, and was relatively unhindered by static or lapses of quality throughout the recording. For the first couple minutes, it would appear to just be silence, Teokkin’s breaths faintly heard in the background. Then at one moment, there was a distinct swallowing sound, and Teokkin’s voice hesitantly rose.]

This season.. the Magistracy is..
Under New Management
Tune in tomorrow for the next exciting chapter of The Inquest Magistracy : We’re Still Alive!
[part 1] [part 2] [part 3] [part 4]
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN (YOU):
WHAT FOLLOWS IS A NON-OPTIONAL REFRESHER ON RECENT KREWE EVENTS, AS MANDATED BY SENIOR ADMINISTRATIVE PERSONNEL; ALL EMPLOYEES ARE REQUIRED TO REVIEW CONTENT WITHIN THIS PACKET. REFUSAL WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE ADMISSION TO THE PAIN CUBE FOR A STANDARD ROTATIONAL CYCLE.
*Esteemed colleagues and underlings,
It has been a tumultuous three years since the establishment of our department; the Magistracy began it's existence as a division comprised of only two individuals, the Magistrix, and myself. Since that time, the Magistracy's numbers have swelled and ebbed with the vagaries of bureaucracy, arcane as they are..
But the Magistracy has stood strong, weathering it all. However, it has done so through not simple chance, but rather through the sacrifice of blood, sweat, and various other bodily secretions of yourselves and those around you. It is through these sacrifices, and through your unswerving sense of loyalty to the krewe that our department has seen fit to persist, and it is through them that we will forge a future brighter than a rapidly collapsing sub-space singularity.
It is in this atmosphere of administratively enforced congratulation that I must take the opportunity to remind the whole of you of what has transpired most recently, and how these events relate to our goals at hand. In the spirit of expeditiousness, I have condensed these topics into an easily digestible list.
1. We are still in pursuit of the renegade researcher, Tezzin. While we have no facial metrics to base around our search, all employees should not allow this to deter them in their efforts. Locating this individual is PRIORITY ONE.
2. Transdimensional fugitives are still on the loose following a break in subject containment. 'Benefactor Raz', along with several low-level detainees, were liberated by an unknown third party. All personnel should consider themselves on high alert.
3. Additionally, all employees are to remain on the lookout for the whereabouts of Intelligence Officer Thirri, who surreptitiously went missing shortly before the transdimensional prison break.
Certain other deleterious elements have been sighted since the incident, slinking about off-limits areas and shadowing krewemembers. While a conclusive identity has yet to be ascertained, glimpses of blue and gold seem to hint at some manner of unified structure behind these individuals.
4. In regards to the previously mentioned transdimensonals, all discussion on the matter is to be kept to an absolute minimum in the company of non-krewe personnel. Failure to cooperate with this stricture will result in a 24 hour stay in the Pain Cube.
5. While attacks on personnel by unknown outside parties have dwindled for the moment, a ban on uniforms while off-duty is still encouraged. If an aggressor accosts you while out of uniform, activate your transponder and attempt to flee the scene immediately.
6. The efforts to establish a base camp within the Maguuma Wastes are still underway. If you have received or requested a work assignment, proceed to the coordinates enclosed in your datapacket and report for duty.
7. Voting for renaming the Pain Cube is currently underway. Swing by Teokkin's desk and cast your vote today! First five votes earn a free meal ticket at Syn-Tax! Syn-tax; the hottest beats and the coldest drinks this side of the equator!
Bearing all of these points in mind, allow this missive to close with my earnest congratulations on executing our most productive year this far. Endure in your works, and it is my firm belief that nothing may stand against our inexorable march towards progress!
Sinisterly,
Disaggregator Gerik
The heck is going on?
Well, a lot of things. I'd like to address the cause of leader absence first. Primarily, it's that both Balderdashing and I (plus our charr roomie) have been trying to find a place to live, and the means to do so. Our efforts have been fruitess for more than a year, far longer than we anticipated or had the ability to cope with (abundant medical issues have also plagued us this whole while). Our living conditions have consisted of a flithy basement, spotty internet, and scarce food. And then I got stuck in California, without my desktop. Balderdashing got a new job that required an immediate flip of his usual schedule, which was a godsend, but it did have unfortunate timing for the guild plot he had just started (the last one INQ did, at the desert camp with the mysterious Nizktt). THE GOOD NEWS is that our home hunt is likely over. Expect word from us (and hopefully regular activity) sometime early this fall, possibly late summer.
And what's going on with the plot..?
We're planning to write a synopsis for everyone in the meantime. It'll be posted on this blog and announced on the MOTD, so stay tuned.
Okay but what about right now?
That's up to you! We're aware the guild has been in stagnation during our absence, and it's made us sad to see, especially because we've not been able to do much about it. This Inquest guild was intended to be a hub for RPers who wanted to engage in Inquest-related RP, as operatives or officers or even specimens, and cultivate a safe environment for RP events to be easily coordinated between members. There’s been long periods of downtime between guild plot events, but we want to remind everyone that there is more to RP than the events from leadership, and encourage everyone to keep on RPing, with or without us. This guild and its stories are about you as much as it is any one of us, so please feel free to use our established lore as much as you’d like. (and remember to rep!)
I’m available for questions via tumblr inbox. If you feel stuck and wonder about RP prompts, I can shoot you some suggestions, too!
