Listen to me here when I talk to you - not to the character you RP as or whatever: I am talking to the individual sat in that chair, typing away and reblogging stuff. The human being.
Youâre beautiful and lovely and so damn wonderful and it pains me not everyone can see it - sometimes even yourself sometimes. And no, donât even try to argue with me. Donât you dare because Iâm right, like it or not. The individual I am addressing is beyond fantastic to this crazy, messed up planet that it wouldnât be the same without you.
And if you try to tell me I donât know you, I donât care. Guess what? Youâre human. And that gives you a few standard features, written into your very essence. It gives you free will and inner strength and courage and endurance and so much other good. Yes, it comes with bad but so does everything. I tried to think of a silly and colourful analogy to that but I couldnât think of one - apologies.
The point is, nothing and no one is perfect and the world would be dull if that was the case. The individual Iâm talking to may have all sorts of âblemishesâ (I prefer to call them characteristics because they add character) and thatâs okay. Iâm crippled with self-doubt and feelings of no worth. Thatâs okay.
The point of this late-night ramble is that, no matter what? Someone loves you. Family or a friend or a partner or a co-worker or someone. If you seriously canât think of someone?I do.I always will. Youdeservelove. Youneed love.
Itâs late here and my mind isnât on the narrowest track but tonight Iâve tried to help two people near and dear to me in a dark time. I like to think I have. Iâm happy to help you.
If you want to end your life, I beg you to reconsider. Itâs hard, I wonât lie. So hard that it mightnât seem worth it - but it is, itâs beyond worth it. Maybe those grand moments seem so far away but live for the tiny details. Live for waking up and finding that your favourite food is there for breakfast, that the sun is out on your travel to school/work, for the fact your favourite song comes on the radio.
Happiness is not winning the lottery - happiness is a collection of the small to form the massive. Remember that and live for that. Please donât take yourself from this world because of hardship because while itâs hard now it will get better: I swear it on myself.
If you want to hurt yourself, stop right now. For this example, Iâm going to assume youâre using a blade to cut. If youâre not, I apologize but try to follow regardless - the sentiment is there.
Set the blade down for a bit, yes? Grab a pen or a marker. Red if possible. Now, draw a line everywhere you would cut. Do not try and hurt yourself doing this, but make the mark. Do it everywhere youâd cut. Now, when youâre done I want you to put the pen down and look at those marks. Imagine them as open, bleeding wounds. Now as scars.
Is that what you want to see on yourself? I highly, highly doubt it. Consider how youâd never wear shorts/a short skirt/a short sleeved top because youâre afraid of someone seeing those scars, of the questions, of the judgement of those who donât understand. Think about it. No one wants that. Sure, it might distract you but it hurts now and it hurts in the future. Put that blade out of sight and donât touch it again. Destroy something instead - tear up paper. Try that instead of tearing up yourself.
If you have low self-esteem or concerns about your body, this is something I can sympathize with, âm sad to confess. I hate my body. I think Iâm ugly and fat and worth nothing at all. Iâm told Iâm wrong - and I will do the same to you. If you believe that? If you believe that youâre anything less than a flawless individual?
I canât make this easier, I canât make you feel another way⊠But I can tell you to try and accept yourself. Find a new viewpoint: Iâm not fat, Iâm cuddly. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and its counterpart remains there too. A perk is a flaw and vice versa in the right eyes. Look at your body the right way - sure, you mightnât be the skinniest but youâre healthy and worth a damn good cuddle. Maybe youâve freckles and you hate them but by God youâve beautiful eyes. No one was made purely bad, nor anyone purely good. Find that good and cling to it and let it keep you safe.
