ââŞď¸ things i like: percy jackson, the marauders, ateez, kpop, writing, reading, singing, arcane, conan gray, epic the musical, hadestown, all of us are dead
annabeth being almost more inherently or naturally âhumanâ (as an attribute like having humanity not biological) than Percy because athena is linked to civilisation and humanity
whereas Percy being colder and maybe more objective towards humans (Annabeth can be objective as well but like itâs different) and motivations and stuff because his father doesnât have the same inherent link to civilisation, instead he understands humans desperate desire and need for things like water and food and escape (like survival)
YESSSSSSS!!!! iâve thought about this so much before. but itâs definitely an au LMAO
but i love the thought of annabeth being way more human and way more feeling and way more outgoing and good at being a leader etc etc. due to her mother and her domains. versus percy being way more cold and âcruelâ in the way that nature is cruel with survival of the fittest.
like the dichotomy of you have to be strong in nature to survive and if you arenât strong then youâre already dead versus the first sign of civilization being a healed femur fracture, taking care of each other and helping one another survive.
percy standing by and watching a younger demigod struggle in a fight against a monster, almost apathetic as he watches because his mentality is âif they canât survive this then they arenât made for this world. this is a test they have to pass on their own.â and annabeth comes in and sees and barely thinks twice before jumping in to help defend the kid because his life is important and means something
but like percy very much embodying the laws of nature vs annabeth embodying the laws on humanity. and the conflict between them on that levelâŚâŚpercabeth rivals era couldâve been way more fun like that. percabeth enemies era almost dare i say.

The Hogwarts library was freezing. Hermione pulled her Gryffindor scarf tighter around her neck, ignoring the ache in her fingers as she dipped her quill into the inkwell. It was past midnight. The restricted section was shrouded in shadows, and the only light came from the flickering candle at her elbow. She was searching for a translation of an ancient Arithmancy text, but her mind kept drifting to the war brewing outside the castle walls.
A floorboard creaked behind her.
Hermione spun around, her hand instinctively flying to her pocketed wand. "Who's there?" she whispered into the dark.
A tall figure stepped into the candlelight. Draco Malfoy.
He looked awful. His usual pristine Slytherin robes were slightly disheveled, and his silver-grey eyes were hollow, framed by dark, bruised circles. The sharp angles of his face seemed more pronounced in the dim light. He stopped short when he saw her, his expression freezing into a familiar, defensive sneer.
"Granger," he spat, though his voice lacked its usual venom. It sounded hollow. Tired. "What are you doing lurking in the dark?"
"I could ask you the same thing, Malfoy," Hermione retorted, lowering her guard just an inch. "The library is closed. Youâre out of bounds."
"Like you care about rules anymore," he muttered, crossing his arms. He didn't leave. Instead, he stepped closer, his gaze falling onto the mountain of heavy books stacked on her table. "Still trying to save the world with parchment, I see."
Hermione sighed, the anger leaving her all at once. She was too exhausted to fight. "Iâm just trying to study. What do you want, Malfoy?"
Draco didn't answer right away. He looked at the empty chair across from her, hesitated, and then sat down. Hermione froze. Every instinct told her to grab her things and run back to the Gryffindor tower. They were enemies. They belonged to different worlds, destined to fight on opposite sides of a terrifying war. Yet, looking at him now, he didn't look like a threat. He looked like a boy drowning under a weight too heavy for his shoulders.
"Itâs quiet here," Draco said softly, staring at the flickering candle flame. The mask of aristocratic arrogance had completely slipped away. "Everywhere else... it's too loud."
Hermione stared at him. The silence stretched between them, thick and heavy, punctuated only by the distant howling of the winter wind against the castle windows. For the first time, she saw past the cruel insults and the blood-status prejudice. She saw the fear.
Slowly, deliberately, Hermione slid one of her reference books toward him. "If you're going to stay, you might as well look up the properties of powdered moonstone for me. Page three hundred."
Draco looked from the book up to her face. His silver eyes searched hers, looking for a trap, a joke, or pity. Finding none, his shoulders dropped a fraction of an inch. He reached out, his pale fingers brushing against the worn leather cover.
"Three hundred?" he asked, his voice barely a whisper.
"Three hundred," she confirmed.
They spent the next hour in absolute silence, working side by side. There were no insults or no hexes. Just the steady scratch of a quill and the turning of pages.

oh wait i kinda love that. poseidon explains that he became careless with his responsibilities as a god the more time he spent with percy and sally. "i was becoming human," he says. and that's why zeus forced poseidon away from sally and percy.
it changes the worldbuilding for sure because as poseidon explains/implies, all the gods were able to have contact with their children until poseidon became infatuated with sally and percy and that's when zeus forced them all to stay away. so like everyone bonding over the course of the movie in never having met their godly parents kinda falls on percy and poseidon in that had percy never been born, everyone would've grown up having some contact with their parents.
but that's an interesting spin on why the gods need to remain separated from humanity because they start to, for lack of a better phrase, fall from grace. and zeus didn't like that. idk i like how sympathetic and "human" they made the gods. their love and care for their children is real and there but it ruins them either emotionally when the kids die or like. actually ruins them and they descend from godhood? idk ignore me
also lame to have percy kick luke's ass. luke almost killed percy in the books đ please guys the percy glaze is out of control please give me my loser boy back
pause. are they implying riptide is made out of the same metal kronos's scythe was made out of? or did poseidon literally carve kronos up with riptide millennia ago? in the pjoverse, zeus uses his scythe to dismember him and cut him into a thousand pieces, and now percy is claiming that riptide was used to "kill" kronos millennia ago. so like. riptide being made out of the same metal as the scythe? crazy lore but alright
can you imagine the scythe being divided between the brothers and hidden in their domains only for zoe to find a beautiful piece of metal that reminds her of her uncle and turn it into a hairpin. and them she gifts it to a mortal she thinks she could befriend before he discards her and she goes on to find purpose with the hunters and then millennia later this little boy destined to kill or aid kronos in a new titanomachy shows up wielding a blade made of his own weapon. maybe it wasnât handed down directly but this boy is zoeâs family the way he is kronosâ family and heraclesâ family and he is destined to be better or worse than all of them.
can you imagine the trust necessary to allow him to continue using such a powerful weapon with such a meaningful history?
