So this song âThe Night Is Youngâ by Big Gigantic came on during @yungtownâs stream on Sunday night and someone made a joke that #TheNightIsYung. I donât remember why but I quick found a free download of the song (legal, mind you) and threw it in a blender with five Yungtown songs and this is the result.
On a side note, I completely didnât realize that the lyrics of âThe Night Is Youngâ were sorta sexual in nature until after I made the mashup. I think I missed it because of how the vocals sort of blend into the background. So... oops. Cuz... that kind of clashes with Yungtownâs usual subject matter.

Mashup of âTake My Starâ by Yungtown with Hanaâs ârapâ from the âAsagao Academy Normal Boots Clubâ game. While it is technically a mashup, I called it a remix to make it seem more like it was from within the gameâs universe. And⊠#HanasGotBarz is, admittedly, a cheesy title, but it sort of fits the overall jokiness of the song.
The original in-game recording session ended with:
Luke (Yungtown): "So, you don't mind if I use that on my album, right?"
Hana: âScrew you Luke!â
I imagine this remix as an alternate way the recording session could have gone, with Hana starting out okay, nearly messing up, but then Luke jumps in to keep it going and then Hana actually starts to get into it and enjoy it.

For those who donât know, Yungtown is a rapper and Youtuber who was featured as a character in this dating simulator âAsagao Academy: Normal Boots Clubâ along with several other gaming Youtubers (namely, the members of Normal Boots and Hidden Block).
There was a scene in the game where the main character, Hana, visits Luke (Yungtown) for help with something. Eventually, Luke gets her in a recording booth and has her spit a freestyle "rap." Out of sheer terror, she starts speaking and Luke records the whole thing⊠or maybe he doesnât... Itâs not entirely clear since he says he wasnât recording but then he asks if he can use the recording on his album (as seen in the quote above).
So, anyway⊠When I heard Hanaâs rap in Asagao, I was expecting it to be over the âTake My Starâ beat and was kinda disappointed when it wasnât. So, using the audio clips from the game, I made the song myself. Thanks to the magic of audio time-stretching, I was able to take the purposefully bad rap from the original game and turn it into what you hear in this mashup. There wasnât enough audio for Hana to rap 8 bars so I filled in some parts with lines from some old Yungtown songs (namely, Death2selfrecords â Lets-go from "Yungtown Classics" (2006) & Death2selfrecords â Interlude from âCollaborative Reinventionâ (2008)).

If you liked this, I have several Yungtown mashups and a self-produced remix in the works (the remix will probably be posted on my main Soundcloud @DNLHipHop).
One of my earliest mashups, I made "Let It Go N Stuff (Deadmau52)" November 25, 2010 (I distinctly remember making it in the car while on the way to my grandparents house for Thanksgiving). It was released January 27th, 2012 as part of the Check Into Five-Two Television mashup mixtape. On June 6th, 2014, I re-released it after fixing some of the mixing and making some new artwork for it (pictured above).
The mashup is comprised of the vocals from "Let It Go" by KJ-52, off his Five-Two Television record, and the original, instrumental mix of "Ghosts N Stuff" by Deadmau5.
Fun Facts & Trivia:
When I first made the mashup, I tried pitch-shifting KJ's voice to match the key of Ghosts N Stuff but since I didn't really understand how keys worked at the time, I wasn't able to get it to work. Now, I'm working on another mix using the same songs, but using a vocoder to match KJ's rap-singing with the melody Rob Swire sings on the newer version of "Ghosts N Stuff.â
I also didn't understand what clipping was, and the quality of the original release suffered from this. It's fixed in this version, though.
I made another mashup with "Ghosts N Stuff" and the vocals from "Good To Go" and "Poppin' Off" by Canon. At the end of that mashup, I sampled this one with a stutter effect. I liked it so much I added it to this one while I was fixing it for the rerelease.
