The smell of fresh coffee wafted through the air. The muffled sound of the Tv in the background.
Two bodies leaning against one another as they looked out of their apartment window, the sun slowly working its way up into the clouds.
“I’m so glad I met you.” A gruff and tired voice spoke out. Although he looked and sounded tired his eyes were full of energy.
A smile formed and you intertwined yours and his fingers.
“I should be the one saying that.”
Shota let out a scoff and you rolled your eyes in return. Both of you leaning in to rest your forehead together.
“No really. I’m so glad to have in my life. You mean the absolute world to me.” He spoke honestly causing butterflies to flutter in your belly and your heart to warm.
With a smile you turned your gaze to the window once again.
Snapping out of your haze you turn to see the red face of your boss. Your surrounding suddenly falling apart once you realized you were in a small cramped cubical. The sound of phones ringing and rushing feet rushed into your ears and The smell of stale coffe and printer ink invaded your nostrils.
“I give you one simple taksk and you don’t even have it done! Stop daydreaming and do your job.” He yelled. No one turned their heads. This happens too often. Imagining being with someone who doesn’t really exist. Nothing but a daydream. The mere though of all of that being an illusion is painful.
“Yes sir. Thank you sir.”
With a huff he turned on his heel and left. Leaving you with your thoughts and unfinished work.
‘That’s right. They don’t exist. Not in this reality.’
