A binding of Thy Eternal Summer by Synthpop
Last one for binderary!
A perfect bound 3 month planner.
Like the window sketch book I cut a pattern into the book cloth and layered it with a holographic card stock. I LOVE the effect. I did it on the front and back this time.
Okay! And thats all of them!
I didn’t quite meet my goal but Im happy with what I made and tried a lot of new binds and techniques.
Some simple pamphlets with chunky edge stitching and a small x book (with pockets)!
Guess who forgot to post all the books they made for Binderary!!!
So here is a crisscross binding made from scrap marble paper!
Id never done this binding before so unfortunately the tension is a little too tight and it doesn’t fold back correctly but thats fine! Still works and looks kinda cool.
A quarto tone paper sketch book
I wanted to use up some of the scraps from the last note book so I made a window cut out in the book cloth and layered it on the cover.
I love the subtle 3d effect and texture it adds
Oh! And I waxed the edges! It does loads to the feel of the pages and adds a nice shine!
But if you try this, don’t be like me, wait for the ink to dry and use a softer wax…
Binderary book 1!
This one is perfect bound cause I wanted to use a buncha pages from a journal miss print but needed to cut to get the pages I wanted.

If you ship Thancred and Urianger and love painful pining then I can not recommend this enough. It is beautiful and I cry every time.
This one gave me a lot of trouble and Im not entirely happy with how it came out. I actually ended up making the case TWICE cause the first one’s for-edge was way too close to the textblock and the paper I was using to cover it was rather thin and wrinkled irreparably on the back.
So I tried again with new paper (I like this design a lot better anyway).
Protip: only use as much glue as needed to case in. More just makes a smudgy sticky mess of your endpapers. Do not be like me.
Only just realized I neglected to post this one.
I designed and typeset my journal planner for this year!!
And it is a CHONKER! I decided I wanted it all in one book instead of in 3-6 month chunks (which would have been smarter).
But now I get to feel like Im filling out a book of spells every morning and it makes the most satisfying *whooomp* sound when you close it.
I love it.
The edges are a bit rough cause it was too big to fit in my guillotine but in this case I think it give it character.
✨Binding #3!✨
This one is a binding of the beautifully haunting What Fades Away by @audreyskdramablog .
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
I sprang for some mohawk super fine and boy Im glad I did. The page feel makes a world of difference.
The typesetting took me ages. There was a lot of dramatic spacing and scene breaks that I was unsure how to translate but Im really happy with how it came out!
The foiled spine makes me smile.
Over the weekend I made 6 dot journals for Christmas gifts
The first three are for my siblings who joined me in the FFXIV MMO Suicide Pact and are fashioned after their main job. I *love* they way the Reaper book came out. I just happened to have marbled paper that fit perfectly
A binding of Erasing all the Lines in the Sand by @thebeatneverleaves
If you are on the good ship Urithan then I highly recommend this fic. Its sweet and domestic and Thancred’s voice is so spot on
I really struggled with this one but I am really pleased with how it came out.
I actually made this one twice! The first looked fine but when I sat down to read it was so riddled with typeset errors that I just scrapped the whole thing and started again from scratch.
I took screenshots around the bookman’s shelves to use for the endpapers! I wanted to try something a little more bespoke then the abstract marbling and oil paintings I normally use. Im thinking of getting into gpose crimes for some more complex shots.
A binding of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving.
Over October I had this grand plan to bind a bunch of classic spooky stories but this is the only one I actually finished.
And Im really happy with how it came out!!
I played with making more dramatic title splashes in this one. Printing it required me to swap back and forth between my lazar and inkjet printers strategically. Which was easier then I suspected it to be. I may do some books with color in.
Also I finally caved and got a cutting machine! I was shocked at how nice the labels came out using it. I may never go back to toner and foil.

If you are a Thancred Waters enjoyer in any way I highly recommend this absolutely delightful series (Particularly A Constant Distant Thunder and Walk in the Wilds. I just adore them.)
So this binding fought me tooth and nail the whole way, from typeset to press, but I really love how it came out!
This is longest bind I’ve done by far and I panicked a little when it was a printed and ready to be sewn. I knew I was going to have to round it (which I had never done). So I printed up a quick note book to practice on. And I think it came out okay! (both this and the note book)
The only things that make me scream internally are that I took a little to much off the top when trimming (Measure twice, cut once. Don’t be like me. Who didn’t measure at all.) and a small publishing error on the very first chapter header in the whole damn book. (seriously I nearly cried when I noticed right before casing in…)
But that’s okay. We are going to be zen about that. I didn’t even notice those things when I opened it after it finished drying I was so excited.
BTW the endbands are made with some cotton fabric, double-sided tape and twine. Which worked way better then it had any right to.
✨Finished another book! ✨
A second fic from the wonderful Slaughterotter, Losing Cohesion. Definitely check it out if you are into FF7 and want to be emotionally destroyed.

I tried foiling and making my own end-pages this time. I’m pretty happy with the result.
Now if only I can keep it from warping.
So I just spent the last month on my first fanbinding project and lemme tell you it was a ✨learning experiance✨
But!! Here it is! In all its slightly wonky glory!
I brought in the margins to much I feel and the case is a bit cocked but its done and now I have a copy of Stitches by the wonderful SlaughterOtter sitting on my shelf. If you haven’t checked this fic out I highly highly recommend it!
