LGBTQ+ identities reflect the image of God.
Many Christians are taught to believe that LGBTQ+ orientations and identities were deviations from what was "natural" or "God's best". The #oncegay ideology asserts that anything other than cisgender heterosexuality constitutes moral failure.
These beliefs are harmful and flatly untrue.
Beloved, you are not a mistake. You do not fall short. You need not change. Your love is beautiful in the eyes of God. You bear the image of God, wholly and unequivocally. May you rest in this truth today. - Unchanged Movement.
Many say that their "gayness" doesn't define them and that is true. But at the same time, we can't separate our gayness from who we are. Our LGBTQIA+ness is a part of who we are. It is ingrained into our essence and that is why it is not possible to change. We can only change how we act and present ourselves, but beneath that outward appearance, we are still the same person that God has always seen and loved. - Floyd Poenitz
Hello Beloved!
Above are some resources if you need to talk to somebody if you are in a crisis. Please use them if you need to, it isnât weak to reach out for help.
Alongside these resources, Beloved Arise has partnered with The Christian Closet to provide counseling for queer youth of faith. You can learn more about that here. On that page, we also provide some resources for learning about mental health issues in the queer community for both youth and people of faith.Â
Your mental health is important, and we believe that your faith and your queerness are important factors. For this reason, we find it important to address these things when tackling mental health. Thatâs why we have partnered with the Christian Closet, who focus on your faith, your queerness, and your mental health all at once.
Remember: You are Beloved, You are Loved, You are Valid, You are Wanted, You are a Child of God.
You valuable and loved. The world is better with you in it. There is hope and people who care.
We have always been taught that Christianity and anything other than traditional heterosexuality cannot co-exist. That dilemma can be devastating to anyone going through the torment of reconciling their sexual orientation or gender identity with their religious identity.
I believe LGBTIQ individuals are wholly loved and accepted as they are by our Creator. This is not a message of mere convenience; it is a message well-studied in the original language of the Bible (Hebrew and Greek) and consistent with scripture.
Here is to the LGBTQ+ Christians who have to deal with their family saying they are sinners
Here is to the LGBTQ+ Christians who deal with doubt in their faith because they are told that God hates them
Here is to the non-straight Christians who get told that marriage is only between a man and a women
Here is to the trans Christians who deal with being told that god didn't created you like that
God loves you and he wants you to be who he created you, whether that be a trans bisexual women, a cis lesbian, a trans gay may, a nonbinary pansexual, an acearo person who is agender, or a straight trans person. God love knows no limits!
Saw this at a local church. Made me really happy :)
I love this!!! My kind of church.
Saying homosexuality is a sin, is like saying the earth is flat. You may think you can prove it from the Bible, but in reality it isn't true and only serves to make you look silly. - Floyd Poenitz, 7/11/2020

PSA FOR LGBTQ+ CHRISTIANS
I KNOW THE CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY CAN BE UNACCEPTING TOWARDS US - BUT PLEASE REMEMBER THAT:
YOU ARE NOT HATED BY GOD
YOU WILL NOT BE CONDEMNED TO HELL BECAUSE OF WHO YOU ARE
YOU CAN STILL BE A CHRISTIAN - REGARDLESS OF SEXUALITY AND GENDER
BECAUSE GOD SENT HIS SON TO SAVE EVERYONE - REGARDLESS OF SEXUALITY AND GENDER
AND YOU ARE UNCONDITIONALLY LOVED BY GOD - REGARDLESS OF SEXUALITY AND GENDER
DONâT LET ANYONE TELL YOU OTHERWISE.
THANKYOU AND GOODNIGHT
~~ youâre all so strong and deserving of acceptance. remember that you are not a burden. keep going and stay strong xx
My response on a message board to a lady who told me that because of my sexuality, I wouldn't inherit the kingdom of God:
The Bible says many, many things. Do you realize that the word âhomosexualityâ wasnât even a word until 1868? The problem with all you âthe Bible saysâ folks is that you really donât know what the Bible says. You read the most current interpretation or translation of it, and you read it literally. You teach it to others and they teach it to others, and voila, you have a bunch of well-intentioned people that are seriously misinformed. To truly understand the passages that unaffirming Christians use to condemn gay people, one must first go back and study those verses in their original texts. Those said passages referred to male temple prostitution that was carried out in pagan worship to Molech. Some also referred to pedastery, which was sex that was between a young slave boy and his master. In all these cases, the same sex acts were in addition to the sex these men were already having with their wives and concubines. The sin was in the fact that it was against their nature to have gay sex- they were straight, married men. They simply were overcome with their insatiable appetite for lust- so much so that they had sex with young slave boys. Another sin was partaking in orgies with male temple prostitutes. These were pagan rituals, as in worshiping false gods. None of this has anything to do with loving, committed same sex relationships and I think we can all agree it was wrong. I will agree that some gay people are promiscuous, as are straight people. But gay people are also capable of having a loving, committed, monogamous relationship- just as straight people are. If you would open your heart and mind to the fact that we are all Godâs creation and that He loves and cherishes us all the same, no matter how different we are, I think you would find that God will bless you for it. I donât know why God created me this way. What I do know is that He is God, He is sovereign, and He doesnât make mistakes. You may not be too certain of my salvation, but thatâs okay, because I am. I know the author and perfector of my salvation. I am certain of my identity in Christ. Instead of condemning entire people groups to Hell, perhaps a better thing to do would be to get serious about studying the Bible in the original text and learning more about this subject. When Christians truly begin to study this topic and hear the truth, instead of simply regurgitating what theyâve always heard, that is when all this hateful, divisive nonsense will end and true Christian unity, love, and inclusion can begin.
Let the truth set you free. Well said!
EPIC! A MUST SEE! Be sure you have some tissue because this will moisten you eyes. A message from a mom that every gay and straight person needs to hear. DONâT SCROLL BY THIS!
Three years ago today I had the greatest honor in baptizing my lesbian niece. Her brokenness came from all the hate and spiritual abuse for being born gay. But Jesus loves and adores her as well as all LGBT+ individuals. This day she was affirmed as a beautifully created masterpiece of God as she shares her personal journey. May you be inspired but most importantly know you too are not broken because you are an LGBT+ individual but a treasured gem in the eyes of God.
