Greetings, Inspiring Beings! It has certainly been an interesting time. I have been editing videos for several months on projects that I am so excited to share with you very soon. It has been something else to construct visual poetry to assist in bringing new music out into the world. During that time, I also received an offer to film a Queerstock Cabaret and Dance Party.  It was highly meaningful to be there and document that experience. I grew up in the extremely homophobic Midwest, and often feared for my personal well being because of my sexual orientation. Since the time I relocated, I have been so grateful and amazed that who I am and who I love is highly celebrated in the area. I went to my first Pride Parade last summer, and now my first Queerstock. Every once and awhile, I’ll get this strange feeling like I’m occupying the thin veil between two realms, past and present. It’s a powerful juxtaposition and teaches me many things.  Here is the teaser I put together with the footage from that night. A few months ago, I had this astounding opportunity to be an assistant director to Heyrick Chassé on the set of Sarah Fimm's upcoming video for “Killing Machine.” I often stop to think about everything that transpired that day. I remember meeting J.W. for the first time, and feeling a vast ocean of memories and experiences held beneath a calm exterior. It was humbling to watch the force of that ocean surge forth as he got into his character, holding military medals in his hands and revisiting places of his past. His voice carried the sound of those who stood beside him in battle, and a translucence shone through him during the more intense scenes we shot. It was enough to stop you in your tracks. I learned a lot that day about PTSD…and the all the realities that go along with it.

When I met Talia Denis, I was absolutely stilled by the quiet gentleness that shone in her eyes. I don’t know that I have ever met a happier human than her. She was an absolute delight to work with and I learned so much from the smile she always wears.

Anne Cavallaro wore this vibrant grin, eager for the adventures of the day. No matter what is going on, she has this way of making everything an epic quest…and I cannot tell you how many times this woman has saved the day. She is just pure magic…inside and out, and I was so happy to share that experience with her.

I cannot thank Sarah enough for having me along for this ride, and for everyone that came together to put their minds and hands into this moving piece. I am so grateful for the immediate friendship that formed between Heyrick and I as I could lend him a helping hand on two video shoots.

The Sparkle Poetess Sabrina has a new poem! 

"The Troubled One" Looking at the cradled trees In tapered light and splintered breeze, I hold back the surging ocean - The turbulence of this emotion Slamming into my tired mind, Waking in what is not defined. A silent diction of perpetual phrases Drifting through these cloudy hazes. Humbled by the imprisoning force That took my words without remorse. And thus I sense a subtle knowing In frequenting ways of passive showing, That I gave too much my quiet will While wondering how I’d be there still. Cruelty preys on lonely hearts - No sooner whole as love departs. Nobody wants a troubled one.   An emptiness constricts the air, We squirm inside a watchful stare; Listless in these endless processions That listen for the muted confessions. The breath is shallow in the lungs That hears the unspoken on many tongues. I do not fear to bring it out, To shed a light on all this doubt.   The words I hear in cornered spaces; A constant barrage of searching faces, Loneliness has clouded vision - A clever devil of mass division. But I must know it to understand As I hold it inside my empty hand; A turbulence that sweeps away The courage that would let me say With gentle wisdom I cannot hear, “I let myself succumb to fear.” Nobody wants a troubled mind. So I welcomed what I knew of light To hold together this fragmented night. “Get up!” I heard while on my knees That fell upon a thousand seas Of questions plaguing vapid sighs That walk the world in lost disguise. It’s special love that is not inclusive - That jaded, paraded, red carpet exclusive. The empty eyes while sitting in bars That look for her in reticent stars, As every word falls short of the feeling Of all that life it has been stealing, While you tended to that hungry fire That burned to ash your every desire. Nobody wants a troubled heart. A solace to encase the time In running measures of ease and rhyme, As meaning has become diluted And everything is now polluted; Spilling the last human shred That ever traversed this pensive head. So l try to release this surging ocean - The turbulence of this emotion. Waiting for love to be returned To erase the years I’ve slowly burned, And kept inside what longed to shine To have the heart that could not be mine; To wash myself in a cleansing sun And no longer be a troubled one.

As I have been immersed in the realm of video editing, I have been thinking about the first film set that I worked on. Last spring, I had this amazing opportunity to work as an assistant director to Heyrick Chassé on the set of Sarah Fimm’s upcoming video for “Rock and Roll Star.” My mind was completely blown by all the intricate details, both technical and interpersonal that occur while filming art.  This is a behind-the-scenes still shot of my experience in front of the camera after hours behind it. It was something else to embody this character. She was a sort of 18th century writer, and somehow, it was like some part of my unconscious alter-ego came forth. It was such a surreal moment. I am so happy to announce the release of a new poetry video and poetry single! I have been in a whirlwind of creation and wanted to make something to bring a little light into this interesting interaction of orbital beings known as life. “The Unfettered Mind” is a poem that has taken on several meanings throughout the years, and there was something that came through during the recording session with Pete Caigan at Flymax Recording.  There are moments in our lives where loving is letting go, and the will to find the greater connection to each mind often leads us to the realization that separation simply isn’t possible. Silent epiphanies effloresce  In this unbalanced chemistry, Waiting for the light caress  To permeate this symmetry.

Beyond the wingèd sun extending,  Emulsified in arms that cleanse,  A golden light is ever mending  To purify the dimming lens.

Reaching through the silent tide  To speak of this prohibited heart,  So you can see this from inside  And pull these flimsy threads apart.

Unbinding all the endless love  Waiting before the steady gaze;  That watches me as if above  My self-constructed, endless maze.

The chambered door within your smile,  (Aureate soliloquies encasing), Was looking at me all the while  I was lost in thoughtful pacing.

It weeps within the broken spirit,  Withered in the truth’s denial; Waiting for my mind to hear it  As it walks along this measured mile.

Adhering me against the wall,  Distant as the orb of night. Waiting for the axe to fall  And bring this rogue into the light.

To recognize within the mirror  The path that I am choosing, To hear the urgent message clearer  And calculate what I am losing.

I feel it pouring through this chest That heaves the labored breath of will.  I’ll ride this wave unto its crest  To rage in fury ‘til all is still.

To breathe into this pressing phrase, That is a thief of restful thought,  That tortures me in subtle ways  And keeps the only thing I sought.

The gentleness that was my peace  Submerged me in a depthless sea.  And through its light, it would not cease  To always draw you next to me.

The universe within the sphere  That liquefied the quieted face,  Burst from an incipient tear  As it traveled varied levels in space.

A vision flashed across the skies  And only silence was found.  So I wiped its colors from my eyes  And heard again the life of sound.
