"And their different ways of living... That is the true freedom of Pokémon. That is what connects Pokémon to us....But that can't be proved with numbers. It's the incompleteness theorem..." =Affiliated with closed rp...
“N-no...! Please! Just leave me be! I’m sorry for what I’ve done. I know it’s not right. B-but please... please... go away.... I don’t know what else I’m capable of. I-I just wanted to help my pokemon friends. I didn’t mean to hurt everyone I love...”
The sun had long hidden itself over the horizon, only its reflection to stand in its place. Spilling across the sky, the stars sparkled and twinkled, trying to compensate for the lack of natural light. Regardless, N found himself in the artificial lighting of Nimbasa City. The dazzling lights of the city’s notorious night life glistened in the dark. The street lamps created an illusion that ignored the time of day.
Having been turned away from the pokemon center for the lack of available lodging, N politely left the center. Although N had no problems sacrificing lodging to another, more needy trainer, he couldn’t seem to think of a solution to this predicament he had found himself in. Instead, N entered the city’s night life. Nimbasa City was truly one that never slept. N had decided to embrace that fact.
Despite the late hours, people continued to play. The flashing lights of neon hues illuminated the night sky. As if hypnotized by it, N had found himself attracted to it. With nowhere else to go, he followed the concrete side walk towards a familiar park. While N preferred more natural settings, there was something attractive about the urban set city. The colors that flashed back at him, urged him to continue to play into the night until eventually, the park had also decided to sleep.
Now eerily quiet, N found himself alone in the desolate park. His body worn from the day’s excitement dragged to the nearest bench. N still hadn’t solved the predicament that was thrust upon him but a moment’s reprieve wouldn’t hurt. He looked out at the empty park and gradually, that vision disappeared.
“...ir....Sir....Sir, wake up,”
Awoken from his sudden slumber, the traveler looked up at the figure before him. They were clad in a blue uniform, a formal hat adorned atop their head. A badge was pinned to their breast pocket, a shield embroidered on the sleeve. It was clear what their occupation was. Still foggy from sleep, N gazed at the person with a confused expression.
“Sir, do you have any sort of identification with you? Can you explain to me why you were sleeping out,”
“The world is a detestable. The way we pit pokemon to fight each other, the way we fight each other.. All of it is deplorable, despicable even. Is there any hope for us to change as a race? What a disappointment we are as a society, no, just as creatures of nature. It’s absolutely disgusting. But you, dear Ingo, should know all about that foul form of communication. After all, you’re a leader in that wretched system.”
box of chocolates: are you single? if so, what would you say the best thing about being single is?
“I’ve always been too preoccupied to really worry about romance. I mean, I’ve always believed that my ambitions to help pokemon are more important than my own romantic escapades. It’s just nothing I’ve ever thought to pursue.”
“I’m not sure what these emotions I feel are... They’re nothing rational about them. It’s a science that I still have yet to learn. Why do these chemicals in my brain make me feel the way I do? Is what I feel an adolescence or something deeper? I’m sorry I can’t answer that question clearly... I’m not sure of the answer myself.”
confessions: if you could say anything to your crush right now, what would it be?
“If’ there’s one thing I’d like to express, it’d be my undying gratitude. I think I’ve learned more about what it means to be human since we met than I have my entire life growing up. Because of you, I only wish to keep being better. And maybe one day, I’ll be acknowledged as a hero of something.”

It was already hitting late afternoon on the clock, and Cheren knew that his class was coming to a close. He had to sum everything up in a jiffy. It was harder to present than he thought, and the topic wore him out. He decided to sum up Z-moves for those in the Unova region, and there were many questions after his speech.
❛ That’s all for today. Please come back next week and I’ll expand on the topic, ❜ he was relieved to hear the final bell ring. All the students were leaving, and none of them stayed to ask him anymore questions. They could probably tell how worn out Cheren must’ve been. He gathered his notes off the pedestal and was about to walk out of the classroom, but there was someone that was very familiar still occupying the room.
❛ Class is over. But I believe you’re not a regular student– N. ❜ he knew the man all too well. Perhaps not as well as a certain someone they knew did, but they did run into each other frequently during travels. It did feel just like yesterday that they met.
❛ I thought that was you who spoke up earlier… what is it you would like to know?❜

Infuriating. Absolutely intolerable. Standing at the gates of the building, N stared at the small school. Having been tutored specially in his very own castle, N had no sentiment towards this place. Children of all sizes, all of them shorter in stature than the retired king of course, skittered about the grounds, whispering empty gossip into each others ears. N had made his presence quite clear as an unannounced guest. A snarl crossed his lips before he came to his decision to enter this establishment of brainwashing.
He had heard rumors of a certain trainer who had retired from his journey came to settle in the upcoming Aspertia City. When word traveled to the wanderer’s ear, N was shocked to hear such a rude, ambitious, idealistic, young man had chosen to remain in one place rather than continue questing for strength. At one point in N’s own journey, he considered Cheren his own adversary. Nonetheless, although N’s morals had changed, his pure dislike for Cheren’s judgmental character had not. For this, N was obligated to correct.
And that was how N arrived at the Aspertia City School. Curious eyes glanced at him as he strode through the halls nonchalantly. He listened carefully for that distinct voice of Cheren’s. When they had first met, N looked at him as nothing but a child, dreaming of the ideals that is strength. The memories of being antagonized, the sharp tongue of his constantly making snide remarks.
Sliding into the classroom, N disregarded the distracted students. His glare was focused entirely and solely on the teacher as he continued his lecture. The education the young prince received was vastly different from this setting. N loomed over a quiet corner of the classroom, consistently calling out whenever the chance allowed him to, regardless of whether the statement was factually correct or not. It was this childish urge N could not rationalize into words or equations. It was a primitive dominance that N was asserting. As a leader of sorts, N felt an obligation to the youth to correct them both morally and academically.
Finally, the bell signaling the end of the lecture called out to the students. In the now empty classroom, N was approached by the former traveler. It had been almost too long since they had confronted like this. Many of their encounters were met with animosity but this time was pure petty.
“There’s nothing you can teach me, Cheren. I’m just astonished to find you in an establishment like this. I’ve heard from others taking the gym challenge. It’s good to see you sharing your knowledge with upcoming trainers. You were so crude back in your youth. Is this the type of education the average student receives? No, I’m not a regular student for sure, but I think you’d like to know me as an unexpected guest,” N greeted Cheren with a sneer. As the words poured out of his mouth, N could feel his voice seeping with distaste. Emotions that could not be rationalized, N allowed himself this guilty pleasure, ignoring the clear frown upon the other’s face.
“So, I would like to ask, “Dear Teacher”, what has become of that ambitiousness? Or rather, why are you brainwashing the innocent? What brings you here?”
“Thank you for the compliment! I’m quite flattered but I don’t know how to take this. I don’t deserve your kindness. Please, share it with others who are more deserving than I. You’ve really improved my mood considerably. Thank you.”
