one of my favorite things about Deep Rock Galactic is the dwarves' enthusiasm, and how infectious it is. something as simple as a hotkey that lets your character salute is such a small, yet impactful feature that brings out the best in people when they're together.

DRG players have taken to making their characters salute whenever:

a new player joins their game

whenever the team completes an objective, or kills a tough enemy

whenever a player revives them

whenever the team completes the entire mission

whenever anyone does something cool

whenever they successfully piss off mission control

or even just… whenever someone else salutes. even if literally nothing happened to warrant the saluting. even when there's a good chance the first salute was an accident.

this creates an environment where the players are constantly and endlessly CELEBRATING each other’s company, all in a game about mining stuff and shooting alien bugs in the face.

it immediately establishes a sense of camaraderie with people you’ve never met, and i think it’s beautiful how this game encourages uplifting each other.

Turtle WoW is no more

It's hard to describe what this stupid private server for a 20 year old game meant to me. And what it meant for the community. The server shut down few minutes ago, 15th of May at 2 o'clock CET. And the final goodbye... well... The GMs showed up, the people showed up, almost three thousand people mourning the greatest WoW server of all time. Take a look yourself.

I even had a little fun wedding on the spot. Since, you know, the world is ending.

And then the final march of all the turtles...

There is this feeling of "Oh my god, what am I going to say last? What are my last words going to be?" And in the end, it turned out to be surprisingly simple.

"I love you. All of you."

Every now and then I get reminded of the Elden Ring movie that's in production right now and I can't but wonder how are they going to make it understandable to the public.

Just take the names of the main (expected) cast. Marika, Melina, Miquella, Malenia, Maliketh, Messmer, Margit, Morgott, Mogh, Godwyn, Godrick, Godfrey, Godefroy, Renalla, Rellana, Renna, Ranni, Rykard, Radahn and Radagon. All of these are seperate characters, except some of them are more than just one.

Said toreador also wore diamond encrusted boots on the regular

A reoccuring joke about a tzmicse making hunters in pillows

A two minute long scene of the players watching a guy eat a steak
