My name is Lucy Tran. I am in an interracial relationship with Arthur Garcia for about a year and a half. I am Vietnamese, 19 years old and heās Colombian, 18 years old. We have been together since my senior year. My family disapproves of our relationship and his family doesnāt want to get involved with the trouble my family costs.
On March 31st, 2015, my boyfriend and I were at home studying for my government class (I been struggling really bad) and my stepdad came home and lied to my mom. He told her that we were sleeping together. In all truth, he was sitting on my desk, and I was on my bed. My stepdad kicked my boyfriend out of the house, and threaten to accuse rape on him. After my stepdad called my mom, she called me and gave me two options.
1)Ā Ā If I want to be with him, I have to move out and sheāll cut my college support. Which means she wont pay for my classes towards my degree.
2)Ā Ā I must break up with him.
At first, I leaned forward the second option, because I cannot quit school, and my boyfriend would never allow that. That night, I waited for my mom to come home to tell me the new rules that sheās going to have on me. She came in and told me that she disowned me and allow me to finish up my education, but afterward I must move out and never call her mom ever again. She is only willing to pay for my Fall and Spring semesters.
This isnāt the first time my family had attacked me because I was dating Arthur. Everyday, I come home and they would tease me, and talk bad about me. My family would gather at my auntās house every night and had called me things like slut or that Iām not human. They would stalk my every move, and expects me to report to them. My youngest aunt is the worst; she tried to turn my own sister (my only family support left) against me by telling her that I am a bad influence. My stepdad tries to give my sister money to win her over. Everyone who I am related to, but my sister, is against my relationship. This relationship has done me no harm and I have to say my boyfriend is the most patience and understanding guy ever.
I am a 4.0 student at Wharton County Junior College. I work for an insurance firm and my mom keeps all my paychecks to āsaveā for me. I only work three hours a day, enough for gas, but now Iām struggling to do so.

But I am trying to graduate as soon as I can, and I am also trying to get a P&C license to officially start selling insurance. To graduate faster, I must take summer courses, and winter course. These terms are out of pocket. I already signed up for summer courses and two classes is about $954, excluding books, and supplies. For my P&C license, the fee is $75 each time you take the test. I had co-workers who took the test up to 7 times to pass. I am really aiming for just twice. I also need money to pay off my credit bills because since my mother takes away my paycheck, I use my credit card for gas, food, and etc. I am about $900 in debt.Ā Any extra help would be appreciated because I have exactly no kind of money to my name at the moment. I need to finish my education to be able to escape from the ignorant environment I am trapped in, and to be able to move out. I am not asking to pay for my apartment or anything. Just for classes, test, and my cc debt. I need this as a start up. And I lack support from those whoās supposed to mean the most to me.
