I think Markiplier is one of the few major social media personalities who actually deserves his audience. Seeing him crying over the overwhelming support for Iron Lung, a project he personally poured heart, and soul, and love into is just such a nice change from the "Mr Beast-ification" that seems to have taken over a large chunk of the internet. He's said before he has more money than he knows what to do with and I'm so, so glad that he's putting it to good use.

So many characters should be permanently disabled in multiple ways or AT THE VERY LEAST have severe chronic pain but everyoens a coward so no one writes the effects of the injuries they inflict </3

I don't know much for certain, but one thing I know beyond all doubt: should Gin truly die by the end of the series, a part of me will die with him — and there's nothing I can do about it.
Whenever I finish any show, book, or piece of media I’m always like “yeah that was good but it wasn’t as good as German science-fiction time travel thriller Dark (2017)”

People who don’t climb mountains—the great majority of humankind, that is to say—tend to assume that the sport is a reckless, Dionysian pursuit of ever escalating thrills. But the notion that climbers are merely adrenaline junkies chasing a righteous fix is a fallacy, at least in the case of Everest. What I was doing up there had almost nothing in common with bungee jumping or skydiving or riding a motorcycle at 120 miles per hour.
Above the comforts of Base Camp, the expedition in fact became an almost Calvinistic undertaking. The ratio of misery to pleasure was greater by an order of magnitude than any other mountain I’d been on; I quickly came to understand that climbing Everest was primarily about enduring pain. And in subjecting ourselves to week after week of toil, tedium, and suffering, it struck me that most of us were probably seeking, above all else, something like a state of grace.

Beautifully said & worth remembering.
