Numbers in Tarot
Hello! I decided to make a post and talk about numbers tarot. When doing a reading, a number might pop up a lot (example: three of swords, three of cups) or simply stand out. That number could mean something on its own (example : a date, 8 march) or have a deeper meaning. In this post, I will write a little about every number.
☽︎ Major Arcana ☾︎
What I usually like to do is combine both digits instead of using a number above 10.
Example : Temperance is number 14th
Instead of using the meaning of the 14th number, I combine 1 + 4 = 5 and I use the meaning of number five (which is found under in the "minor arcana" part).
This is a personal preferance and I know many readers who use the meanings of the numbers like to do it. You can always look up the other numbers or use this method instead!
˗ˏˋ ♡ ˎˊ˗ Minor Arcana ˗ˏˋ ♡ ˎˊ˗
☮︎ Ace (1) - new beginnings, inspiration, potential, opportunity
☮︎ Two - balance, choices, duality, decisions, partnership
☮︎ Three - creation, growth, expression, fruits of labor, synergy
☮︎ Four - structure, foundation, organisation, stability
☮︎ Five - chaos, change, conflict, uncertainty, instability
☮︎ Six - harmony, communication, progress, healing
☮︎ Seven - reflection, assesment, strategy, wisdom, knowledge
☮︎ Eight - progress, evolution, mastery, action
☮︎ Nine - fulfillment, attainment, fruition, end of a goal
☮︎ Ten - renewal, end of a cycle, transformation, completion
Tarot Numerology
A page from my grimoire. I don't often use these as a literal interpretation for the cards themselves, but to help interpret the overall theme of the reading and add a layer of depth to how the cards relate to the theme and the other cards.
1 – New beginnings, opportunity, potential. The number of creation, primal forces.
Major Arcana: The Fool.
2 – Balance, partnership, duality, tactful, gentle, diplomacy, forgiving, understanding. The most feminine number. It is all knowing. The most underestimated when it comes to power and strength.
Major Arcana: The Magician.
3 – Creativity, groups, growth, but also could be spoiled, scattered, in need of guidance. Need to express oneself through creativity.
Major Arcana: The High Priestess.
4 – Structure, stability, manifestation, stability, depth, grounded, strength. Dependable, punctual, obedient, trustworthy, conventional.
Major Arcana: The Emperor.
5 – Change, instability, conflict. Extremely dynamic and energetic. Can be unpredictable, always in need of change and motion. Equality between feminine and masculine energy.
Major Arcana: The Hierophant.
6 – Communication, cooperation, harmony, nurturing. Loving and caring. Motherhood. Sympathetic, sacrificing, often focus on young, old, and less fortunate.
Major Arcana: The Lovers.
7 – Reflection, assessment, knowledge. Philosophy, searching for truth. Skeptical.
Major Arcana: The Chariot.

Major Arcana: Justice, or Strength.
9 – Fruition, attainment, fulfillment, sophisticated, worldly, beautiful. Understands the connection between things. Humanitarian qualities. Loving, empathetic, but can seem aloof or hard to reach. Searching to rectify abuse.
Major Arcana: The Hermit.
10 – Completion, end of a cycle, renewal, success, focus, leadership. Enhancement of the traits of 1.
Major Arcana: Wheel of Fortune.
11 - Intuition, psychic powers, neuroticism, as the "Master Number" it represents a channel between the conscious and unconscious mind.
Major Arcana: Strength or Justice.
12 - Creative, individualistic, unconventional, self-reliant, can be selfish, inefficient, or irresponsible.
Major Arcana: The Hanged Man.
