Got my drawing of trans Cassidy done but before I post it I need to spread my headcanons to make sure people get me:

So. Vampires are sensitive to sun. Sunlight is same shit as uv light. This would basically make tanning beds and other uv lamp systems murder to vampires. Laser is a strong aggressive light. This makes me headcanon that any type of laser treatments would at least be more damaging to vampire skin.

So yeah anyway- why am I rambling about this?

My trans fem Cassidy headcanon is that she might’ve tried laser hair removal when it was a brand new still in development technology. Combine still in development not the safest zapping light technology and sensitive vampire skin… you get nasty burns.

So yeah my additional headcanon to trans Cassidy is that she has second degree burn splotches all over her body

do you FW the headcanon that cassidy is gender non conforming in some way or another.because i like 2 think he’s experimented with it in the past but i want 2 know yr opinions on the matter….

I actually have my own headcanon that just strengthened when I read you first talking about it:

So… the stonewall uprising happened in New York in 1969. Based on his backstory, Cassidy has lived quite a lot in New York. He may not have been in stonewall inn during the uprising. But if he was a gender nonconformist, there’s a chance that he definitely had been there at least few times

Okay this will be a spoiler warning for blood and whiskey special because you never know when someone appears and reads my things and gets angry because I spoil the ending in a way 🆘

I have two different headcanons about why Cassidy killed Eccarius in the end of blood and whiskey special🆘

Or three because I may know the true reason: kill your gays trope. Garth Ennis didn’t want to move Eccarius into the main story and if he didn’t kill him off, he would’ve needed to make a better reason because this was a prequel after all!

But that’s a shitty reason because it only makes sense in real life

So anyway my real headcanons why he might’ve done it!

Reason 1: so. Cassidy decided to kill Eccarius right after finding him sucking the blood of a woman and killing her. Around the time that the blood and whiskey special is in the paper back version that I read, is when Cassidy has never killed a woman and literally says no to one who wanted him to bite her. Even the men he had killed around this time of the comics, he hadn’t killed any innocent man. He sucked the blood of that guy who stabbed him in the eye in the second issue and he ate the cop in the beginning of blood and whiskey special. So he might’ve killed Eccarius because he saw himself as someone less evil than Eccarius because to Cassidy, that woman hadn’t done anything wrong to deserve to be killed. (I feel like this reasoning could be very plausible if the rest of the comic didn’t shit on the characterizing of Cassidy)

Reason number 2 (my headcanon): self sabotage. This was the first time he met someone immortal like him and someone who even liked him and literally told him he loved him! Maybe the idea of having someone by his side truly forever made him slightly nervous so the second he found even the smallest reason to kill him and make sure he’d stay alone and free, he took it and killed Eccarius almost without even thinking about it. Also internalized homophobia was probably also feeding this self sabotage because come on. 1900 weren’t very accepting of homosexuality. Cassidy had definitely seen a lot of homophobia during his lifetime. It definitely had seeped very deep into him.

And if I feed more into the Cassidy is gay headcanon, I feel like Eccarius wasn’t the first male lover he had killed or just abandoned.

what do yu think the preacher trio would think of eccarius if they met him .

I feel like Tulip wouldn’t exactly hate him but he would think he’s an annoying pretentious ass

Jesse’s reactions would probably depend on how Eccarius behaves when they first meet. Like if he’s acting all pretentious vampire but isn’t literally covered in human blood or literally sucking the blood of a woman right in front of him, Jesse would probably just think Eccarius is a weird a bit quirky guy.

But if Eccarius was sucking the blood of someone when Jesse meets him, yeah.. he would NOT like Eccarius. He’d be absolutely horrified and disgusted by him. Like he’d probably have a similar reaction as he had when he found out Cassidy was a vampire.

But I feel like he wasn’t always like that. Like not even after vampirification. I feel like all those decades in the ‘murica did that to him💔 I mean he always had the tendency to get hurt in idiotic ways but that’s not the weird thing about him. That’s just shitty self preservation skills and childish recklessness that he never grew out of

I think he became more of a critter creature in the 80’s because even in the 70’s flashback he’s not that much of a freak. And like we never saw him in the 80’s

In the first issue, tulip said she’s vegetarian so I feel like she’d enjoy Indian food because vegetarian Indian dishes are so delicious and I love headcanoning all the preacher trio with stuff about meee muhehe (my favorite Indian dish is palak paneer btw)

Cassidy likes raw steak. I won’t forget that. But I also think he probably eats things like black pudding and blood sausages because they have a lot of blood in them so they would be at least a bit more nourishing to him than bland bread or whatever else he ate during the comics

QUESTION. how do you think the preacher trio (+ maybe eccarius) would draw themselves.

I feel like Tulip would draw herself as accurately as she can. Maybe a more realistic and detailed western comic style

I feel like Jesse would rather draw cowboys and stuff like that so I think he’d draw himself as a cowboy in like a more simplistic western comic style

Eccarius would definitely draw himself as handsome as possible and like the most stereotypical sexy vampire with blood dripping from his mouth

Cassidy would draw himself as a stick figure with sunglasses but the lines would be super shaky. In my headcanon, all that alcohol and drugs have affected his fine motor skills too much to actually draw well. Like when he actually would try to draw his hands would just shake.
