Meadow is a new side muse of mine; she is the daughter of Tod and Vixey. She was created by me and @fledermuse/Sawyer, my good friend and RP
Note: Meadow’s adult icons are drawn by Fleder, but I have permission to use them. I do not take credit for them. Her kit icons are also provided by him.
🏳️🌈 + i misread the meme and came up with my own questions lol: how does meadow find out that she’s bisexual? in her adult verses, is she actively seeking or open to a partner?
(🌿) You’re good, Del- I’ll take it! :3
Meadow didn’t have any romantic interest in anyone whatsoever until she was almost fully grown; she knew Tod and Vixey were happy together, but she didn’t see the point in finding a mate for herself when she could just do whatever she wanted, and she didn’t have to sacrifice her time for anyone- save for her parents, of course.
However, she was lying in the sun near her parents’ den one day- she finds her own home nearby when she’s a young adult, but that’s not the point- and spotted a dainty, grayish and white vixen with beautiful, leaf-green, very luminous eyes, a light red undercoat, a feather-like tail, black forelegs, and long, thick fur; the other fox had hunted down a chipmunk, seemingly rather soon before Meadow saw her.
Something felt… strange in Meadow’s chest, and all of a sudden, her head was swimming. Why was she so intrigued by this other vixen? Why did she want to get closer? To talk to her?
Keep in mind that Meadow doesn’t have the best social skills, nor has she ever really interacted with other foxes, but at that moment, she didn’t even think about it. So, confident as could be, the red and orange fox strode right up to the other and smiled, her tail held high in greeting.
“Hiya, stranger! How y’ doin’?” she’d greeted the other, flashing a big smile. “My name’s Meadow- I live real close ‘ta here.”
“Oh! Um… hello.” The other female smiled back and slowly put her meal down, awkwardly, and folded her ears sideways. “That’s… um, that’s-… nice.” She blinked, glancing around. “…my name is, ah, Dusty.”
Meadow puffed her chest out and brushed her slightly ruffled leg fur down, still clearly confident. She opened her mouth to say more, but then became quiet.
“Uh-! Yuck, a chipmunk? Why’s it so… gross-lookin’?!”
She realized that she’d spoken before thinking immediately upon seeing Dusty’s expression: offended. “Yes, a chipmunk. It’s hard to believe another fox would say it’s ‘gross’… and, by the way, a word of advice: don’t be so quick to judge. It’ll do you a lot of good, believe me.”
Dusty left, and Meadow, rendered speechless, felt her belly clench in shame.
She saw Dusty again a few days later across a small pond both were drinking from, much to her shock, and approached carefully with her tail low and a bashful smile on her muzzle. They’d made eye contact, and Meadow’s face had felt hot. It still did.
“Um-… I- hey… Dusty…”
The brownish vixen licked her lips and glanced warily at her, unimpressed. “Hi. Are you putting on a little ‘show’ so I’ll feel bad for you after you made a rude fool of yourself the other day?”
Meadow winced. “…n-no…” She ducked her head, unable to make eye contact. “…I jus’ wanted ‘ta say that I-I’m… sorry. I just-… I can’t eat meat by itself. I hate the feelin’ on my tongue… but… I really shoulda thought b’fore I talked.” She sat down, her posture and ears still drooping. “D’you think… if y’want… we could be, ah, friends or some’m?”
Dusty sat up, her eyes wide. “Oh… well…”
The gray/brown fur on her cheeks turned a little pink, and her ever-so-captivating green eyes glowed. “You know, I think I can give you a chance, Meadow. Not all animals can admit their mistakes, and now that you did… I can see you a little bit better.”
She smiled, and, though stunned, Meadow smiled back. They were only friends for a short time before they inadvertently began courting each other, and eventually became mates!
So, to sum it up? Meadow is not currently looking for a partner in my portrayal, but what I said here is what her future will look like. For now XDDD thank you!!!
Oh also Meadow’s beginning to wonder if she’s, in fact, only interested in vixens; she just finds herself irritated by young males, if she sees or talks to any. ‘They’re so full of themselves!’
Bug my character about their past! Ask them about the things you wonder about! Give them scenarios to get their brain going! Today is all about bringing out the growth hiding within my character.
The yearling vixen blinked and sneezed- after turning her head- at the poke to her nose.
“Woo… golly, hi, Melody! Ya know, y’coulda just called my name if ya wanted my attention!” Meadow teased, giggling. That was a trait she shared with Vixey; they both had that cute little laugh! It didn’t matter that Meadow was an adult now- she’d always share traits with her parents!
“Wh-… h-hey!” Meadow yelped, springing sideways in shock. The kit was bristling and frightened, but, being true to her fiery nature, she pinned her ears angrily and flashed her teeth, tail puffed out.
“Who’re you?! What’re you doin’ here??” she snapped, but didn’t get any closer. She had no idea what a cat was.
“You’re in the forest, dummy! A big ol’ bear’s gonna come n’ eat you!”
