Ⱐâââ Ⱡ⟠Of course he had considered that option; the thought nearly made him sick to his stomach, seeing as all other features about him said otherwise. Often times, he was used as physical, tangible proof against his own sworn word. It was best not to dwell on such things, but as the other said, it was more than just a possibility.Â
âHmm? Oh.. my wings?â he glanced over his shoulder, as if suddenly expecting them to not be there. âNo. Not at all. Believe me, Iâve tried. Should they be able toâŠ?â Right, as if the other would know the answer.
âTo hide.â Kuro responds. Why would-- Itâs a question repeating over and over in his head. Curiosity made him want to ask how were you created. But heâs not going too, not bothering to make more trouble for himself.
âIt makes no sense....you make no sense.â
Her tongue clicked as she walked and she took out a notebook, getting inspiration for song lyrics. She usually started off with the tune, but whatever.
She was glancing up every few seconds to see where she was going, of course, but she was almost completely absorbed in her work.
âHuh. Guess this isnât a waste of time after all.â
âWhy wouldnât it be..â Ash speaks up without thought, words spilling from his throat with more resentment than actual curiosity before heâs shifting his feet, twisting his head in the others direction.
But instead of pressing further, he mumbles; âyou should be more careful...you could get hurt not paying attention.â
Ⱐâââ Ⱡ⟠Admonishment was the last thing he had been expecting from someone who had a rather lax attitude ( at least outwardly, but heâd always been a poor judge of character ) and an almost careless sort of mannerism seen in just his facial expressions. Crane found himself more surprised at the bit of adviceâ could he call it that, or was it a threat? âthan he was taken aback by it.
âWell, better to be staked through the heart for what I am than being burned or lashed for what people perceive me as.â
âThatâs trueâŠâ he admitted with a self-conscious shrug, more so to chase off that rather morbid thought than anything else. âBut it is easy to tell Iâm something else, so itâd be easier if I was honest, wouldnât it?â
âI guess....in the end, they may not believe you.â
Ash just continues to peer at the other, as if he expected more. Felt there should be more, however; he wasnât willing to press constantly into how others felt unless the situation was dire. Ash blinks slowly, not in the action of expressing he cared or trusted the other too much of a feline action than vampire anyways-- but in languid motion as he asks, âcan they retract...?â
Oh. Thatâs how it was. Normally sheâd retract her offer here but she didnât want to be a jerk. And it got them up, anyway.
ââŠGlad to see youâre feeling better.â
She sort of sighed and stood up, slinging her guitar case over her shoulder and walking away.
 âAll right, letâs go.â
    âMmm.â
âI guess?â  He mumbles, hands gripping his hood and sliding it over his hair as he followed the woman, a soft-- âthank youâ following his prior statement, deciding politeness was the way to go.
âAlright. Thatâs fine. Iâll just have to pick up more food on the way home. Good thing weâre near a convenience store.â Yep. His family is probably screaming from their graves right now. Letting a stranger in his house was definitely not the smartest thing in the world, but hey, the guy needed a place to sleep!
âOh! I should prolly give you my name. Iâm Len.â There. No longer strangers.
âIâm...Sleepy Ash. â He says it slowly; as if heâs unsure to utter his name to a stranger. Itâs not like they were making a contract; he had no worry. But it still lingered presently in his mind. Heâs, however, eager to go to the convenience store. Excitement tugging beneath his core; though his expression kept calm.

 âUhâŠâ
She questions how true that is, exactly, but doesnât question it verbally. Slumping onto her guitar case, she propped her head on her hand.
âKinda fragile, huh? Wouldnât expect it. If you want I can but some ice cream for you, or something. Since it probably hurts. I guess.â
âHurts so bad.â Ash is over-exaggerating.Â
He just nods at her words; fragile- not really, he acts like it. Easier to do than pretending to be full of energy. But- her offer of ice cream, heâs blinking and his gaze is sharper and focused on the woman. Would he take down an offer of free food? No.
Even if it was already cool out; ice cream was something he hadnât eaten in awhile. âYes.â Thus, he stands slowly; as if he had no problem period.

The idol groaned as she hit the ground, her guitar case pinning her down. Rolling over and freeing herself, she brushed herself off with a mildly disgusted face. She looked around to apologize, almost stepping on the person sheâd run into.
âWhâ oh. Uh⊠You okay? I musta hit you pretty hardâŠ. Can you move?â
Wow⊠Most people would have gotten up by now. Or at least tried to. Or maybe started groaningâŠ? Maybe they just didnât want to get up?
It was one thing to have fallen, another entirely when the speaker attacker had the nerve to almost step on him. Ash, however, offers no words of response for a moment. Heâs blinking away a daze he hadnât realized he held before twisting his head and staring upwards at the speaker.
âIâm fine.â Not really; he never was completely fine. But heâs better than he was two hours ago; except instead of hungry heâs aching. The more he thinks about the pain he canât really feel, he swears it feels like heâs been stabbed. âIâm recovering from the fall.â
âWhat? No! No not at all! Iâm just looking thats all.â Now inreality she doesnât know that her âjust lookingâ is more creepy than anything else.
â....But why at me.â Itâs still bothering him, and his run away instincts are screaming strong.

Takes a small step back but continues to watch, humans are strange creaturs.
Why does she keep staring. âIs...the..re something..on my face?â

He recognizes compact; a shoulder pressing harsh against his own- foot catching uneven sidewalk and Ash falls. Heâs too slow too react; or more so, lethargy gripping him so heâs stuck in a deep desire to rest.
Ash lays on the ground; blinking slowly and resting his chin against the concrete. There are people moving around him, not plenty due to the chill of the night air and his arms are placed flush against his chest and ground. Natural reaction of falling, but not having helped regardless.
âOw.â Is uttered moments after, a delayed reaction and still heâs not moving.

Ⱐâââ â± âŸÂ ââŠAh.â So far, that was the only verbal response he could manage. The other had quite thoroughly proven his point, albeit in a way that somewhat missed it altogether. His wings were ( most unfortunately for him ) quite a REAL part of him, while the otherâs ears heâd alluded to were fake. His question was met with a shrug. âThey donât do anything yet. Theyâve yet to grow in all the way. But itâs not like I know how to fly, anyway. I donât know that I would either. Iâm a vampire, not⊠well, something thatâs supposed to have wings. Itâs kind of ridiculous.âÂ
   âOh.â
This guy was a vampire? Ash shouldâve figured he was something strange, if those wings counted as anything. For a second, he had guessed simply cosplay, something extravagant for a day. Too much hard work, but Ash is blinking slowly now, lips parting as he responds--
âYou shouldnât go around saying that. Who knows whatâs out here willing to take a hit at a vampire.âÂ
Len looked back at the strangely tired guy in front of him curiously. âI mean, I could definitely give you the money.â He watched as he thought on the matter, a bit shocked when he was asked about his house.
âAh- Uhm Well, I live alone in a house that was supposed to house me and like three other people. Thereâs a bunch of space and all the rooms are still furnished. I dunno.. I find it very big.â
âI donât want money.â Ash has found his choice. Staying at a hotel was too much work including finding one he would actually want to stay in, and there was no doubt that maybe the others home would be easier to leave, considering he would be unable to just waltz out through a window more closer to ground if he chose a room close to it.
âLet me stay with you tonight, and Iâll leave tomorrow.â
