There is no real way for me to say "good-bye" at this moment. So, I'll say "thank you" instead for being such a terrific class. At the beginning of the year, I wasn't sure how you would all merge as a group?? After all, you were a bit shy when sitting in the room together those first six weeks. But, something happened, and you guys went with it, and together, you made a real experience as a class--an experience filled with discovery, humor and creative expression. As a teacher, I couldn't ask for more. Thanks for reminding me why I do what I do!

I'll miss you next year. Keep up the great work. I was totally blown away by your final projects by the way. Here they are for you now to share. Happy summer! And don't forget those six little lines that you inspired you...

IN CLASS, the week of May 21st

Monday: Edit day for all. Discuss when and where final crit should take place.

Tuesday: Off-campus shoot for Box Project. Please line up David and Mr. A for this purpose. It's supposed to be cloudy too!

Thursday and Friday: Final edit days in class. And in-class evaluations.

Keep in mind, that you are more than welcome to come into the lab during exam week. You can edit, you can hang, study, whatever you need.

IN CLASS, the week of May 14th

Tuesday: Prom group shoot in RWC. Great news about David Robins! And he has a tux. Brilliant! All other costumes must be ready to go too as we will not have time to be searching for props and costumes the day of.

Box group will be heading to Sammy's house to block scene and finalize shot list. Ms. Howard will be driving kids off campus. Sammy, please confirm with your family that this is good time to descend upon your home.

Wednesday: Prom group will shoot in the dressing room.

Box group will shoot on location at Sammy's house.

Friday: Import and begin to edit. Going into this final edit, we're going to take time to review post-production techniques that you've learned, and address the ones that you're still struggling with. Consider the following: "J" cut, jump cut vs. overlay, applying key frames. Also, I would like you to create a dynamic audio track for your piece--meaning the sound should not be the last consideration.
