in addition to the fact that people just have different natural rhythms, a big reason why we can’t seem to go to bed as early as we “should” is that nighttime is, for many of us, our safest and most fulfilling time of day. we don’t have to work, we won’t be contacted by bosses or insurance companies or collection agencies or other suffocating life business… we’re likely only to be contacted by our friends, or by no one at all. night time is release; it’s ours. we can rest or recreate. we can do things we actually want to do. who would choose to cut that short?? just to usher in the next morning when our lives are not our own again? nighttime is precious and nothing could be more normal than the desire to embrace this

as someone went from wearing makeup everyday two years ago to someone who never wears makeup now, two things have happened:
1. I actually sincerely, genuinely prefer the way I look without makeup more than with it. Nowadays I don’t think a lot of people realize that the more often you wear makeup, the more foreign your face will look to you without it, and vice versa. I’ve gotten to a point where my bare face feels the most me.
2. When I do wear makeup, it’s actually fun! Because I’ve decided to give up on concealer and foundation and contouring, it really becomes more about the artistic expression. It’s fun to wear bright orange blush, glittery highlighter, and pastel eyeshadow. Makeup should be no different than a kitschy accessory, or a fun outfit.

Book Recommendation: House of Leaves
by Mark Z. Danielewski
If you are looking for a great horror (some argue that its actually a love story) book I highly recommend this one. It’s my favorite book of all time. It has a very unconventional format and it’s one of those books that gets better with every read through.
I don’t want to give too much of the story away but the book is about a man doing a documentary on a strange house and strange things within the house.
We will be doing more book recommendations due to high requests, if you have books that you think we should share, please inbox us!
