GOD! Lumity seriously had the potential to be gay Inukag! and it was WASTED!!
Both Inuyasha AND Amity started off as antagonists-
I think one of the reasons why it failed is that it just took itself too seriously. Like, EVERY episode that's Luz and Amity centric is MANDATED to be dedicated to having the two girls bond closer and closer until Amity starts pining and then Luz starts pining, etc. Whereas, in Inuyasha:
Even AFTER Kagome has come to the realization that she's in love with him, their dynamic remains platonic and comedic.
Literally BOTH of them will pull out the "it's not like I LIKE you or anything" card. I mean it when I say they are Tsundere x Tsundere.
The real funny part is, there's an episode where they both play matchmaker with Sota(Kagome's little brother) to help him ask out his crush. There's a scene where Kagome and Inuyasha are chillin' in her room and are just like "man, why is it SO hard for your kid brother to just confess?"
"I know right? If he loves her, he should just come out and say it!"
and the two just sit in silence for a bit. It's dumb and I love it.
I know that TOH and Inuyasha are in VERY different genres but I think if Dana really wanted Lumity to be more beloved and actually seen as good rep,
look I have a bias. I have watched this anime THREE times and I love it more and more with each rewatch because there's always something I miss during a previous viewing.
