Michael Cunningham, from “The Hours,” originally published c. 1998
The Lovers of Valdaro, discovered by archaeologists at a tomb in San Giorgio near Mantua, Italy. The couple have been holding one another for 6,000 years.
“I think there are people that help you become the person that you end up being, and you can be grateful for them, even if they were never meant to be in your life forever.”
— Bojack Horseman
the only thing that matters are the trees and the air and the love you pass on in everything you do. you are not even here. life should be treated like a dream. enjoy your dream, stop thinking about things that dont matter, everything is okay.
yea i’m kinda just done with the nonchalant way we treat sex and the way we ignore how sex can be damaging. sex can be fun and empowering and liberating and freeing. but so many of us have to unpack the damage that sex has done so that we can really enjoy sex. and i’m tired of acting like you can just skip those steps. that we can all just have sex and enjoy it and if you’re not having sex then there’s something wrong with you. there are so many reasons to just stop and think before having sex. and it’s exhausting the way we act like it’s no big deal, when to some people it’s a huge deal
Golden.
Staffin, Garafad - Isle of Skye.
Once you realize that the road is the goal and that you are always on the road, not to reach a goal, but to enjoy its beauty and its wisdom, life ceases to be a task and becomes natural and simple, in itself, an ecstasy.
Nisargadatta Maharaj (via dissenting)
I keep remembering — I keep remembering. My heart has no pity on me.
Henri Barbusse, The Inferno (via oios)
I dream too much, and I don’t write enough, and I’m trying to find God everywhere.

Do you believe in "other half" or soul mates? I really hate when people refer to their significant other as "other half" because I'd like to think we're already whole and enough before anyone came in and I'd like to keep my individuality away from my bf/gf...
I wouldn’t call it “other half” but I definitely believe in soulmates. I used to think that you have one soulmate for your whole life and that specific person, soul, spirit connects with you over and over in different lifetimes, but now I think that we have a few of those. I think we have certain soulmates for certain times of our lives. I believe everybody shows up at the right time. I’ve met two people that really felt …important to me. One of those was so damn strong I just can’t shake it. Anyways, I think we’re all whole beings on our own, absolutely. And I think that certain people come into our lives to love us the way we needed to be loved at that time, or to expose parts of ourselves to ourselves that we wouldn’t have seen without them, or to make us confront fears, to challenge us. But yes, overall, to love and love and love. They come to wake us up, to make us grow. You’re still an individual and still capable of being independent if you are committed to loving a person. It can really be so simple and I think we mess this up a lot. We overthink it all and the bottom line is loving. Two wholes, growing and loving. And not always staying. You will always be wholly yourself, with or without another person.
I want to leave as soon as I can. I think I was born with a suitcase.
Sherman Alexie, The Absolutely True Story of a Part-Time Indian (via adderalldust)
It is best to let go of those who are not passionate about growth as you are, because their ways will assist in keeping you tightly knit within complacency. So let sleeping dogs lie, especially the ones who are not even willing to change and elevate for themselves.
(via 11travels)
And sometimes I have kept my feelings to myself, because I could find no language to describe them in.
Jane Austen, Sense and Sensibility (via wordsnquotes)
