the hyper is fixating-

I like to think that Rocky feels like a lot of words in English are superfluous, so he tends to cut the "unnecessary fluff" on purpose, despite knowing perfectly well how it's done correctly. A small part of it is also just personal defiance, he's not ashamed of being an eridian and sees no reason to adapt to humans more than necessary. Friends and strangers alike understand him just fine, and that's all that matters.

He sometimes also kinda mockingly uses it almost like "baby talk" with Grace, since this particular syntax and lack of conjugation is the result of him originally dumbing down his wording in Eridian just enough for Grace's roughly cobbled together translator to make sense of it until Grace learned it properly later.

So when Grace act stupid, Rocky will speak stupid with Grace too. The next step of Rocky's particular brand of sarcastic "you're being an idiot"-ese would be to start miming at him "puppetshow" style.

You know he's being concerningly serious when he starts actually talking in English with full, perfect grammar sentences.

I also wanted to make a little gif to visualize how the range of motion for his mechanical arm functions, since I keep drawing it come up from behind different shoulders haha

I'm still not sure how exactly he controls it but this is just a first rough concept kinda thing anyways.
