HDR on iPhone Lesson
How to make dark cartoon like HDR effects on your iphone!
The guide your about to read will help you achieve photo effects such as these examples. Check the post below for a video guideline.
OK so the apps you will need are as follow
camera+, lenslight and filterstorm
1. open the photo you want to edit in camera+, when in the lightbox touch your photo and edit. In scenes choose Auto then go to fx and touch special and add the HDR filter, in the top right hand corner touch done. When you back in lightbox touch save.
2. Now open your Unedited photo in filterstorm, we will come back to the Filtered one soon. Now that you have your unedited photo open in filterstorm we need to darken the image, so for this we need to go into the filters menu, the menu with a logo that looks like a sun, now touch curves and adjust the brightness to your satisfaction, now you have done that touch the tick.
3. OK so you have darkened your photo to your liking, you now need to go back into filters and scroll right down the menu to Double Exposure, now find the photo that you edited earlier with camera+ HDR filter and open it. When the image is loaded align the HDR image with the darkened image, you may have to pinch and zoom to get it right, but no need to rush, just take your time.
4. When you have aligned the photos together touch the paintbrush, then touch the paintbrush again and enter the show options menu at the bottom left hand corner, set the opacity at around 20 to 30 and change the diameter to your liking with softness on full, do the same for the eraser. Now use the paintbrush to lighten parts of the photo until you feel satisfied, Use eraser to darken again.
5. Now that you have finished that, you need to touch the tick and save to photo library, now open the image in lenslight to add whatever light effects you choose.
Hope this tutorial has helped you create some fantastic images, if it your not happy with your first attempt then keep practising until you get it to how you want it
Thanks for taking the time to read through my tutorial, happy editing :)

HP TouchPad & CyanogenMod 7.1 Android Alpha 3 update
Date: November 24th, 2011
The new CyanogenMod 7.1 Android Alpha 3 update has been released; this is the new build of Google Android for the HP TouchPad. RootzWiki has the all the updates from Alpha 1 up-to-date, this tablet PC as standard was released with webOS 3.0 software, but the world went crazy for an Android port.
The new CyanogenMod 7.1 Alpha 3 main features include: Last prominent form of “sleep of death” fixed, Bluetooth DPad/arrows do not rotate with screen, Webkit backing store (smoother scrolling), Minor improvements to 2D/3D performance in some apps, Serial# now populated, as well as Battery stats now available to Android, General wifi fixes, Possible fix for A2DP and wifi interference, Preliminary Touchpad 4G support (no radio), Shorter hostname as a result of serial#, Possible fix for SD card not mounting, Status bar should take less resources after an app goes full screen, and Camera FPS improved but still nearly non-functional.
Must remember that this is still at alpha stage, so is still not what you call perfect, but it is getting there. This new Alpha 3 bring s a few problems such as plugging in the headphones and then the tablet speaker shuts down, this sounds ok but you cannot hear audio in your headphones.

Installing CyanogenMod update for HP Touchpad
Over a week ago CynogenMod released an update for the HP Touchpad, here a some of the fixes
Changelog: (AKA things we hope we fixed) * Plugging headphones in should now shut off speaker volume * Battery drain issues have been (partially) addressed * More apps now available in market (thanks to Flemmard) * Temporarily removed suspect fsck_msdos to fix random folder deletion on media/sdcard. * At least one type of "sleep of death" (TP won't wake up) has been fixed * Wifi should no longer hang in sleep * Vibrator no longer disappears * Touchscreen no longer unresponsive after sleep * cifs support added * Touchstone should now charge better * fixed broken links resulting from first version of installer (mount now works) * pptp vpn now works * OpenVPN TUN support added * USB mounting in vold added * Misc. fixes to ACME Installer (more graceful exits, nonstandard LVM media location handling, etc.) * fixes to surfaceflinger to improve performance * upstream cm7 changes added
1. Download the latest update ( CynogenMod7 ALPHA 2) from HERE
2. Connect you TP to your pc via usb and turn on USB storage, drag the cyanogenmod update to the root file of your TP and unmount your usb.
3. On your TP, HOLD DOWN the SLEEP button until the tablet options pops up, now touch REBOOT and then touch RECOVERY and OK. Your TP will reboot into RECOVERY mode.
4. Now that your in RECOVERY mode use the VOLUME controls to navigate your way to "INSTALL ZIP FROM SDCARD" and press the HOME button, now choose navigate to "CHOOSE A ZIP TO APPLY", again now navigate using the volume control and find the update you earlier placed in your root, once found confirm install and wait for the TP to reboot.
5. You should now have the updated version of CyanogenMod.
Top 5 paid apps installed currently on my iOS Device
Everyday there are 100's of apps been released for the iOS platform and I just wanted to tell you my 5 most favorited apps that I use on a day to day basis and don't get deleted after just a days use.
5. QuickOffice pro
Quickoffice pro is one of the first word processing apps for the iOS, and is an extremely good one at that. It is capable of viewing word, Excel and PDF formats, word processing is a breeze, if you can type and send email via the iPhone/iPad then you will have no problem typing out a document.
Once you have finished with your document you can either email the document to yourself to print or transfer with the built in transfer feature and download straight form you PCs browser.
4. Plane Finder AR
Plane Finder AR really does take the iphone to another level, have you ever been relaxing in your garden or just going about your daily life and wondered about what it is that is flying over your home? The plane finder is a augmented reality app that detects and scans for planes in and around your area in real time.
You just point it at visible planes direction and it will display the current speed, height, model and destination, it will also tell you about planes that are out of site or around the outskirts of your hometown. Its a great app for curious folk or if your hobby is plane-spotting this app just makes it all just more fun and reminds us of how far technology as really come over the years.
3. Bills on your table
Bills on your table really has made my life much easier when it comes to bill paying, before this app I used to have to go through stacks of bills to find my next bill date but now with this app I don't, Bills on your table is a bill organizer and reminder, you type in your bill type e.g, credit cards, rentals, phone bills, and set a date for when the payment is due and around the bill date you will receive a push notification reminding you of an upcoming Bill you can set repeat reminders also.
It also has a stats section showing your total output every month, I also advice to make an account with them, that way your bill data is backed up onto there server so if you ever need to restore your iOS device or you accidentally delete the app you can recover all of your data so you don't need to type it all in again, and this also gives you the ability to log in and view your bills on your computer.
2. qbro
qbro is an absolute stunner of a camera and photo editing app, with over 25 different filters for your photos this really is a must for any iPhone photographer. You can either edit a already taken photo from your camera roll or take a photo with the inbuilt camera, when you apply the effects you can easily compare the original to the filtered version by just holding your finger on the photo. I have been using this app for almost a year now and it has decent updates with new filters and effects and is currently a very popular camera app.
1. Camera+
Camera+ is my number 1 favorite app, mainly because I love photography and this just has all the tools for making the iPhone a fantastic camera phone, with over 40 effects and 16 scene settings this really is an epic iPhone camera app, it is very nicely set out, smooth and fast at processing filters, there is a built in camera app which I personally don't use but have tested it and don't have any faults to put on it. There is options to crop and adjust your photos and change the scene settings eg., clarity, flash and night, you can add borders and filters eg., HDR, Cross process, 70's and lots more, the filters look very good quality and are great for playing around with. Camera+ really does beat them all and I recommend for anyone who enjoys taking photos and editing there iPhoneography.
