The Plia Chair is a great example of democratic design ideated by the Italian designer Giancarlo Piretti for Castelli in 1967.
The design was so iconic that when it was presented in Milan at Salone del Mobile the crowd went home with samples from the stand. It’s still is a classic design that keeps selling all over the world, mostly in his beautiful transparent version.
It’s a chair that I saw placed in different locations, as it works anywhere: at a dining table, in office spaces, in a bedroom, etc. It’s a very simple design and its colour variants are so beautiful and elegant, elevating this simple design to a luxurious piece.
