You and Justin have been together for almost three years. Your relationship isn't perfect, but it's the best one you've ever had. In your past relationship your ex-boyfriend kept telling you that no one will ever put up with you, you were ugly, and that you were lucky that you were even with him. You believed every word that came out of his mouth, and sometimes that interferes with yours and Justin's relationship, but the thing is, is that you've never discussed your past with Justin until today. You didn't want him to hear all of the things your ex had said to you. Mainly because you didn't want him to realize that everything he had said was true.
The point to where you had to tell him was when it came to when you thought you were ready. You knew you loved Justin, and you wanted to share a special moment with him. Except that the moment didn't turn out to be special. It turned out to be your worst nightmare come true.
"Justin, please stop." You whispered. You weren't even sure if he was able to hear you. He continued to kiss your neck, face, and jaw.
"Justin, stop." You louder. Justin got off of you and had a hurt look on his face.
"Did I do something wrong?" He asked.
You began to cry. You didn't want to tell him. Not like this. Not right now.
"Y/n, baby, what's wrong? I'm sorry for whatever I did." He said while trying to hug you. You turned away.
"It's not you, Justin." You cried.
"Then what is it?" He asked.
You took a deep breath and gave yourself an internal pep talk before saying anything.
"I was in a relationship before I got with you. My ex, his name was Brandon. He didn't love me, and I don't think he ever did. I think his whole purpose of being with me was to see how long it would take for me to spiral into depression and possibly kill myself. He always told me that no one else will ever love me, that I was a mistake. He even told me that I was the reason my mom died, Justin. He hurt me so much. Both mentally and physically. I didn't think I would ever get away from him. Then one day I did, and shortly after I met you. I didn't think someone like you would ever want to be friends with someone like me, much less in a relationship. I believed every word he said. I never wanted to tell you this because I was afraid if I told you that you would realize that he was right and you'd leave." You rambled. You looked down at your hands. You didn't want to be in the room with him anymore. You wished you could just disappear.
"Y.n...." He whispered. You finally looked up. He looked as though he was about to cry. You hated seeing him cry, and now you were regretting everything you had told him.
"Y/n., I love you. I don't tell you that just to be talking. I say it because I mean it. I love you. I love the way your nose crinkles when you laugh. I love how your glasses match the color of your beautiful green eyes. I love how passionate you are about things you believe in. I love everything about you. Do you not believe me when I say these things?”
“Justin, I do, but sometimes it’s so hard to remember that not everyone is like him. He and I were together for so long that I didn’t think I’d ever get away from him or be able to find someone else. He’s in jail now, though, so it’s not like he can hurt me anymore.” You said while remembering that horrible winter night that he got arrested. He hit you, he punched you, he ripped your hair out. If you hadn’t have called the cops the doctors said you would have never made it. Your nose was broken, and you lost so much blood. Not only do you have a very descriptive memory of the incident, but you also have the scars to constantly remind you of it daily.
“I’ll love you always, Y/n, and I’ll never hurt you. No matter how much it annoys me when you eat my fruit loops.” Justin said before giving you a kiss and pulling you into a tight hug.
