“Do I even want to know what you mean by that when it comes to Ryan?” Ireland asked curiously knowing that with Ryan it was never good. “I’m okay. I promise I’m doing alright, mom.”

“I guess I’m sucking all around on the mom front these days, huh? I’m sorry.” Caroline sighed quietly, offering a soft smile at her daughter. “I know, sweetheart, thank you. But, I’d want to spend time with you regardless of me missing my mom, I hope you know that.”

“You’re not sucking as a mom in the slightest. You’re busy, and I can’t fault you for all of that. I have too many siblings and you have too many friends for me to be too greedy. I do know you want to spend as much time with us as you can, it’s just not always that easy.”

“I’ve been missing my mama too I get it,” Ireland admitted taking her mom’s hands in her own, “But I’ve been doing pretty well. I’m keeping myself busy but if you ever need someone to talk to I’m around.”

There’s every possibility he doesn’t know that we can get back into town, and even if he does, he’d find his family first. And I know that, but I have my family back. That’s better than I had for a long time, so it’s okay.

I think having our family back is the most important part of it all. As much as I love Caleb I could live without him as long as I had you guys.

I had Xander, but..who knows if he’ll ever come back here again. I don’t know if I can keep blindly holding onto that. But I’m alright on my own, I mean, I spent most of my life by myself, it’s not much different with this stuff.

If he was the one for you he would have already come back to you, Avs. I know you’re an independent badass but you can need someone from time to time.

I wouldn’t be surprised. I mean, Lily’s not, Mom isn’t really, but the rest of us definitely are. And you’re welcome. Even though all things considered, I think we’ve seen each other at worse than this.

I don’t know I feel extremely pathetic about all of this because it’s Caleb of all people. Our mother is something special though we can’t compare ourselves to her or it’d never work.

Yeah, I guess sharing a best friend with a baby probably doesn’t help matters. If you want that Ire, you should tell him. Sixteen years apart is long enough.

It’s not even sharing him it was the fact that seeing him with a kid absolutely has me ruined. But I’ll talk to him. I can’t promise I’ll be sober for that discussion, but I’ll at least put myself out there.

I mean, Beca was insistent on staying childless and she’s about to have three. You never know, things change. 

Trust me I want to have them especially considering I’ve now been forced to see Caleb with Trinity’s little boy. It might have been the worst thing for me.
