In a shocking twist, I'm reading a book that was actually written in this century. I'm 3 chapters into The Master by Colm Toíbín. I figured it'd be interesting to read a novel about my favorite novelist (dearest Henry James).
It's really good and has the feel of a 19th century novel while also being able to dive into James's sexuality without disguising it under layers of subtext and ambiguity.
When you realize ChatGPT mostly stole its writing style from free articles online, so now every time you read a free article you're stuck in this horrible uncanny valley of wondering if a thieving robot actually wrote it.
Well, the ending of The Ambassadors was super depressing.
Happy Birthday Chita Rivera! (January 23, 1933)
“I am young in my energy because I really still believe that we can share who we are, and we can wipe off on each other. I see this huge tapestry when we’re born, and this red blob that’s your soul or your heart.”– Chita Rivera
Sometimes you become hyper focused on finding a certain gay porn video.
when the subtitles have slight inaccuracies like synonyms and asynchronous abbreviations/lengthenings to what's actually being said
I'm starting to think people on the Internet want us all to be perpetually miserable.
So I started reading The Ambassadors by Henry James. I read pretty broadly so I can confidently say it has the most difficult prose I have ever encountered. It's also ridiculously beautiful and gets easier once you get into it. I'm just in love with Henry James I guess.
Shout out to all my Gormenghast peeps. Steerpike is evil and awful but I'd totally bottom for him.
Well what the fuck am I supposed to watch after the last episode of Six Feet Under?
your coworker complimenting your outfit: cute sweater!
your gayest friend complimenting your outfit: you look like woke chucky in a sexy way
I've started listening to operetta, to fast track becoming the gayest man in history I suppose.
Sometimes I think about Eustacia Vye and I miss her. I too exist more in my fantasies than in my own life.
Oh no, the new Wuthering Heights movie was bad. Not even bad in a fun and campy way, just really boring.
Guess I'll just have to live with the Isabella pup-play scene for the rest of my life. Her characterization was so campy and weird, I wish everyone else was on the same page as her.
I must admit I loved most of Margot's gowns and the absurd set design.
Ragtime is amazing, god bless the understudies. Gaghhhughhh
Maybe I should be like Romola and do a soft suicide attempt by setting sail in a boat, then it'll lead me to a plague ridden village. Then I can take a gap year healing the residents and find that life is worth living after all.
