where is the safe check-in in beirut?
where is the lebanese flag on facebook?
where are the news headlines, and lights on government buildings and honouring and remembering the lebanese victims? or the syrian victims? or the iraqi victims? or the schoolchildren in pakistan, who get killed while in class?
these lives matter too. they too were daughters and sons, mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers. they too had struggles and dreams. they too were killed prematurely. these losses deserve the same outrage and empathy, the same outpour of love and sympathy.
if you gather and protest, march, or pray remember all victims of terrorism - not just the european ones. be aware of media bias, fight against it. educate yourself and educate others. be informed, that is the only way you can offer support.
don’t forget this when the media starts spreading hate and fear
period.

i bleed each month to help make humankind a possibility. my womb is home to the divine. a source of life for our species. whether i choose to create or not. but very few times it is seen that way. in older civilizations this blood was considered holy. in some it still is. but a majority of people. societies. and communities shun this natural process. some are more comfortable with the pornification of women. the sexualization of women. the violence and degradation of women than this. they cannot be bothered to express their disgust about all that. but will be angered and bothered by this. we menstruate and they see it as dirty. attention seeking. sick. a burden. as if this process is less natural than breathing. as if it is not a bridge between this universe and the last. as if this process is not love. labour. life. selfless and strikingly beautiful.
there’s nothing wrong with this.

57 Canines Rescued From Dog Meat Farm Are Brought To US To Be ‘Treasured’ In Forever Homes
Dozens of dogs who were destined for a sad fate are now getting a new beginning.Animal rights group Humane Society International (HSI), along with Change for Animals Foundation, rescued 57 dogs from a meat farm in South Korea, earlier this month, a representative from HSI told The Huffington Post. For more on these remarkable dogs recovery and rehab process and how to adopt one go here.
Ummmm?? No.
What gives anyone the right to come into a different country with a different culture and history, and say “No, you don’t eat dogs. They’re cute and adorable and you’re horrible for eating dogs.” That dog farm was someones livelihood.
America claims it loves dogs so much and yet dog shelters are so overpopulated from abandoned dogs that 5500 need to be killed PER DAY. This amounts to approximately 1.2 million per year. GUESS HOW MANY ARE KILLED PER YEAR IN KOREA??? GUESS?? BETWEEN 1.1 AND 1.3 MLLION. YEAH. So both countries end up throwing a shit ton of dogs onto the fire, but the difference is that Korea actually makes good use of the meat that comes off them.
The reasoning behind not eating dogs can be applied to other animals like pigs and yet no one comes into your country to rescue pigs from becoming bacon. If they did you’d get upset because it goes against your culture. Pigs can be kept as pets too, so the only distinction is you decided you liked one more than the other and convinced yourself that made it special. You don’t need to go out and start eating dogs now, but you have to stop shaming people/cultures that do or you’re a hypocrite.
Y’all get so worried about cultural appropriation but when someone ACTUALLY interferes with another culture it’s OK because dogs are cute.
Pretty much what I thought. I’m not a vegetarian but I know stupid shit when I see it. We raise animals for their meat, treat them so badly it’s awful, and then go to other countries, with other cultures, and act like we are the fucking white knight of all animals on earth ?? Start by sweeping in front of your door before trying to “take care” of other people porches ….
Yeah I agree with the commentary on this surprisingly
Pigs can be kept as pets too, so the only distinction is you decided you liked one more than the other and convinced yourself that made it special.
I’m glad other people had this same reaction
Its funny because animal rights groups kill tons of healthy adoptable dogs on American soil and then turn around and “save” dogs in Korea for the warm fuzzy value.
If the farmer cooperated and was compensated then ok whatever but there’s still some stickiness at work here.
Ridiculous and racist. White people gotta fly halfway around the world to save 57 dogs in Korea, when thousands of dogs are put down in US city pounds every day. I’m a dog owner, tree hugger, and animal lover, but humans need to kill in order to live, that’s how it works. We kill trees to live in, we kill plants for vegetables, we kill animals for meat. Anyone who doesn’t accept this, is profoundly alienated from their own connection to nature and life and death. If these people wanna do some good for humane animal treatment, try cleaning up the US chicken and beef industries.
Big ups. The racist and colonist shit done in the name of “protecting animals” is straight up busted.
“OH THOSE EVIL BACKWARDS KOREANS EATING A DIFFERENT KIND OF MAMMAL FROM US, GIVE US GOD KNOWS HOW MUCH MONEY TO SAVE A COUPLE DOZEN OF THEM SO WE CAN FILM SOME PROPAGANDA”

Hey dude I love your dramatic readings. Anyway, can you read the name of every state in America in the most seductive way possible? In alphabetical order please.

Well, OKAY.
Saying the Names of All 50 States in Alphabetical Order…Seductively
Why are all your poems about girls. Are you trying to write from a boys point of view? I think that's really creative and I've never seen that in writing before! You're going to go far with your poetry :)

Misty Copeland & Brooklyn Mack to Make Historic Debut in Swan Lake
For the first time in dance history, a major company will perform the ballet “Swan Lake” with two African-American lead dancers — Misty Copeland will take on the lead as Odette/Odile, while her love interest, Prince Siegfried, will be danced by the Washington Ballet Theatre’s Brooklyn Mack. The two will effectively shatter the all-white stereotype of “Swan Lake,” the most traditional of ballets.
Black dancers have been rare in leading ballet roles with major companies, especially in classical works such as “Swan Lake,” in which the star is traditionally white and waiflike.
Copeland said in a statement: “It certainly goes against traditional casting. I am so pleased to have the opportunity to show that African American ballerinas can also conform to the traditional vision for a swan as feminine and sylph-like while also being artistically and physically powerful.”
Septime Webre, artistic director of the Washington Ballet, called the event history in the making, and said that it challenges the paradigms about how principal dancers in classical roles should look.
“The ballet world has had a history of a glass ceiling of sorts for African-American male dancers to a degree but certainly ballerinas,” said Webre. “So it’s been exciting to question the notion of what Swan Lake should be about!”
The Washington Ballet production of “Swan Lake” debuts in April 2015.

Your first time is NOT supposed to hurt
You are NOT supposed to bleed
If you bleed, that is NOT your hymen being ‘popped’, it is a tear due to lack of sexual arousal and natural lubrication.
This is all a MYTH perpetrated by men so they don’t have to make sure you are comfortable and sufficiently aroused enough before you have sex with them. It is an excuse to disregard and hurt you.
I just really want women to know this.
The purpose of the first draft is not to get it right, but to get it written.
