My grandpa worked in the mines. He was luckier than most cause they lived nearby. The coal companies would build a town by the mine, rent housing to the miners, and they owned the only store.
He said many a miner with a family worked for not much more than room and board after the company deducted rent and things bought at the store.
This is a massive property - 701 acres. This is the main residence- it's a fluid, sculptural design built in 1989 in Friant, CA. 3bds, 3ba, 4,100sqft main house. $4.9m.
This house is like an art piece in itself.
Look at how curvy it is. Sometimes, the ceiling goes low.
