Naomi, Naomi and Ely’s No Kiss List
Dear baby, I hope someday somebody wants to hold you for twenty minutes straight. They don't pull away, they don't look at your face, and they don't try to kiss you. All they do is wrap you up in their arms and hold on tight without an ounce of selfishness to it. I hope you become addicted, baby. I hope you become addicted to saying things, and having them matter to someone.

iMix (Playlist #6)
It’s been a while since I shared a playlist here on the blog. It’s spring now -- a season I am not thrilled about, because it means summer is just around the corner, and I don't like summer. It just gets too dang hot!
Anyway, this is the playlist I’ve been listening to a lot lately. It mostly upbeat songs that help me haul my ass out of bed in the mornings to do something and be productive. This is also my go-to playlist when I’m in the shower, and I blast this in the car when I’m driving because well, why not?
Check out more of my playlists on Spotify. :)

Reading Me Before You by Jojo Moyes, in preparation for its movie adaptation that is coming out next month.
Writing this post and another one that could possibly go up tomorrow.
Listening to another playlist I recently created on Spotify.
Thinking about how much of a brat I really am, despite believing all these years that I’m not.
Smelling my favourite body mist from Bath & Body Works.
Wishing for some kind of enlightenment, because I’ve been feeling stuck in a confused state of mind and I don’t like it.
Hoping for a better future for the Philippines.
Wearing a NYX lip liner and I am absolutely in love with the colour -- it’s called Sand Beige -- perfect for everyday!
Loving Brooklyn Nine-Nine! Since most of my shows are on a break, I’ve been looking for new ones to watch and I stumbled upon this on Netflix. I’m also currently watching Empire and Game of Thrones, so it’s nice to throw in a light comedy in the mix.
Wanting to try out more vegan recipes. So far, the ones I’ve tried were huge successes, which is very exciting.
Needing to master self-discipline, like, yesterday.
Feeling light-headed, probably because I’ve only had one decent meal so far today. It’s past 5pm.
Clicking through different online shops -- virtual window shopping, y’all lol.

- BREAKFAST, 10:47AM -
I woke up today wanting some pancakes but I wanted the process to be quick and easy and just enough for one person because I was the only one here, so I decided to try Buzzfeed’s 3-Ingredient Pancakes. I honestly cannot remember if I’ve had this before, but they’re pretty darn good. The texture is definitely not like normal pancakes (because duh, no flour) so it’s basically just like scrambled egg dessert, but it’s really delicious -- you should definitely try it out!
There is nothing more precious than time spent with the people you love. This was taken the other day (March 20th -- International Day of Happiness!) when me and my family went on a trip to a little city that's about an hour away from where we live to check out the place. We went on a short walk and I shot some clips, mostly of the sky (because it was such a beautiful day!) and my feet (I have no good reason for that, really), and I was inspired to make a video, so here it is! I hope y'all enjoy watching. :) xx
E P I S O D E S I X
This is probably the worst episode so far because I barely ate and didn’t even pay attention to the time. It was surprisingly a very busy day for me -- I originally thought I was just going to stay in for the entire day, but random errands came up and they needed to be done, so I ended up spending half the day outside going from one place to another, making phone calls, and sending emails. Even though this is going to be a lousy post, I feel so good because I accomplished a lot of things today. Yay for productivity!
- 10:50ish AM -
I’ve never had coffee in a long time, so I thought I’d reward myself with a cup. I just had it with a piece of Banana-Chocolate muffin that I made the night before.
- 1:30ish PM -
I went food shopping with my mom and decided to get this from the bulk section because I’ve been craving for sour gummies (these are cherry-flavoured, my favourite kind). We didn’t realize it was already afternoon until we got out of the supermarket, and out of everything we bought this was the easiest to eat, so I guess that’s my late lunch? Lol SO GOOD THOUGH! It’s also really soft gummy candy, so it doesn’t hurt my jaws from chewing and they don’t get too stuck in my teeth.
- 7:00ish PM -
My only proper meal for the day, I guess. It’s my cousin’s birthday tomorrow and we went out for dinner for an early celebration. I know you’re not supposed to eat a lot at night but I was just so hungry at this point that I think I ate two more slices of pizza and two more pieces of chicken. #NORAGRETS hahaha!
This week was uneventful, but oozing with kilig and good vibes.
I started off the week with a midterm exam -- which wasn’t exciting at all -- and for the first time ever for this particular class, I’m actually kind of nervous to see the result of the test hahaha but Y O L O loljk. I was still pretty high with excitement and happiness though because of Leo’s Oscar win the night before. YAY LEO!!!!
Tuesday, I decided to watch OTWOL Reel to Real which is their “special feature” I guess. It’s a compilation of outtakes from the show (mostly JaDine moments duh), interviews with the cast, and a special interview with James and Nadine, talking about how their friendship blossomed into sweet, sweet love, with a love story every girl wish they could have (no? maybe that’s just me lol) plus statements from James that proved he is too good to be true. Seriously, where can I buy one? Char. To all the haters out there, don’t even, okay?
On Wednesday I did another episode of Wednesday Noms, which you can check out here. Thursday I received a very good news -- an answered prayer, but I can’t talk to you guys about it yet because it’s part of a bigger picture and I don’t want to jinx anything so I’m trying to be low-key about it even though it’s actually a big deal. Lastly, I’ve just been binge-watching Full House. I really needed a light, funny show to watch after all of the intense and stressful events in The 100.
That’s it for my week, darlings! What have YOU been up to?
E P I S O D E F I V E
Hello everyone and welcome! It’s another Wednesday Noms episode and this was supposed to go up last night but I got distracted watching Fuller House hehe. Better late than never!
- 1:30PM -
Because I got out of bed so late, I got really hungry and needed to eat something while I was preparing my late lunch. I saw some [strawberry] yogurt left in the fridge (about 1/2 cup) so I decided to use that up. We have some kiwi in the house so I cut one up, then topped it all off with muesli and *bam*, perfect pre-meal snack!
My Favourite Things: February 2016
I cannot believe we're on the 61st day of the year already! But before we move forward with this month, let's backtrack to February to talk about some of my favourite things.
Garnier Micellar Water
Micellar cleansing waters are a huge thing right now. I haven’t heard of them until last year (they’re apparently a French thing) but I’m pretty sure they’ve been around longer than that. All the buzz was around the one from Bioderma but a 500ml bottle of that shit costs CA$35 so no, thank you HAHA. A lot of people swear by it, but that’s quite steep, because it’s still essentially a bottle of water. Good thing a lot of the brands available at the drugstore are coming out with their own version of it and according to the ~research~ I’ve done, this is the best one so far. I believe Garnier released them at the end of last year but I haven’t seen them in Canadian shelves until February. I got mine for CA$10 at Superstore (probably cheaper at Walmart), which I think is a reasonable price for a 400ml bottle. I’ve been using it ever since I bought it and boy oh boy do I love it! I used to use makeup wipes to remove my makeup (duh) and although those have served me well, I feel like this does a better job at cleaning my face. It takes everything off -- and I mean e v e r y t h i n g, without having to vigorously rub the product on your face and because it is water, it doesn’t leave your face sticky with serum-like residue like the wipes.
E P I S O D E F O U R
Here’s a brand new episode for you guys!
Some notes:
I used a chicken patty for my sandwich if you were wondering. They’re fully cooked and pre-packaged, I just heat them up in the oven for 15-20 minutes.
Yes, the mac ‘n’ cheese was from a box A G A I N (not even the good kind), don’t judge me. It’s actually leftover from yesterday and since it became all dry and gross, I decided to spruce it up a little bit by adding about a quarter cup of milk, 1 tablespoon of butter, a dash of salt and cayenne pepper (for an extra kick), and I found an almost-empty jar of Cheez Whiz in the fridge so I decided to use that up and put it in the mix.
Also, I would like to point out that I drink water -- and lots of it. I think I don’t really show my drinks in these posts and that’s because I only ever drink water; I try to stay away from juices, pop/soda, and coffee as much as possible. I have a handy little tumbler (actually not so little, probably about 18oz??? I have no idea) that I always use when I’m at home and I drink two of those per meal and maybe one in between. I don’t always have lemon water, but I saw lemons in the fridge, so I thought I might as well use them.
I’ve been obsessing over avocado toasts lately. I haven’t tried one until recently because I always thought they’re weird and overrated but O M G they are amazing! They’re so simple, so easy to make, so healthy, and SO GOOD! What I do is I toast some bread, mash and season half an avocado with salt & pepper (and lemon juice, if you like), spread that mixture on the toast, put tomato slices on top, then sprinkle with a pinch of salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper (it’s obvious that I love this stuff) and voila, awesomeness and perfection!
I hope you guys find this somewhat inspiring and helpful even though it’s honestly all over the place. I’m trying my best to be consistent with this series and it’s probably the only thing that’s keeping the blog alive right now haha! I hope y’all like it. :) Laters, darlings!
A letter, an aftermath*
I'd like to think that I have a better understanding of (certain) things now. I’ve been hating you all these years -- blinded by sadness, confusion, and the love I no longer want to feel for you but can’t seem to get rid of. I’ve been blaming you; I have been telling myself that it’s your fault that I cannot be happy, that it’s your fault that I can’t move on. I have convinced myself that you broke me because you never loved me back, but as I sit here and recall our moments together -- as I look back at our “relationship” which has brought me tears and laughter (sometimes, even both at the same time), I have come to a bittersweet realization: you did. You have loved me all these years. You have loved me all along -- the moment we became friends until that flourished into a bond that stretches limitless. You loved me even when we had petty fights, even when I pushed you away, even when you found out things about me that I wasn’t proud of -- secrets that I never told anyone else because I didn’t trust them as much as I trusted you. You loved me all through the years, even when I started to feel the hate towards you, and you knew... but still loved me anyway. You loved me -- love me -- if the words you speak are true. You never fail to tell me when you have a chance, you always try your best to make me feel it, I was just too selfish to recognize it. I can see it now, or maybe I always have but never wanted to admit it. I understand now... you love me, it’s just not the kind of love I wanted from you. It’s not how I wanted to be loved by you. You know I wanted more, but you could only give so much. Still, I want to thank you for not giving up on me. Lastly, I would like to apologize; I’m sorry for being an idiot and I’m sorry for claiming that I love you more than you love me because in truth, you love me so much more than I deserve.

Today was spent mostly by myself -- my siblings were at school and my mom was either out for an appointment or at work -- so I didn’t feel the need to cook big batches of food. Anyway, that didn't stop me from making a WN post this week because I'm so pumped that I have been consistent with it so far. It's really not that hard to come up with content because well, I eat everyday (duh) and all I have to do is share what I had every Wednesday, so it's pretty easy. Also, I can talk about food all day haha! I really hope you guys are at least being inspired to cook, because it's never too late to learn, you know! So... here goes nothing!
E P I S O D E T W O
Welcome to another episode of Wednesday Noms! I didn’t really plan on making a WN post this week but here I am haha! I’m not sure if I talked about this before, (probably in one of my update posts?) but I’ve been living away from home for University and the house I was living in is owned by my cousin who was actually a chef back in the Philippines, so he’s usually the one manning the kitchen, preparing meals for us. Once in a while I would cook for everyone as well, but I didn’t spend as much time in the kitchen as I did before (which I guess was both a good thing and a bad thing). Since I’ve been back home though, I have reclaimed my position as the ‘chef de cuisine’ of the household and it wasn’t until today that I felt how nice it is to be completely in charge of the kitchen again. You need to know about one thing though, and it’s that sometimes I get lazy too; some days I just don’t want to cook at all, so we just hope and pray there are leftovers in the fridge or just microwave instant noodles or something. But some days, I’d really get in the mood to cook and go all out -- well today is that day... ish. So here’s what I ate for today!
My Favourite Things is a monthly blog linkup hosted by Eirene and Raisa that was made to showcase -- you guessed it -- yours and my favourite things! I decided to try it out for fun and also thought it would be a great way to discover new things. Of course it is a blog linkup, so you can join in too! Stay tuned 'til the end of this post for more information. Without further ado, these are a few of my favourite things (for the month of January):
E P I S O D E O N E
One of my favourite things to do is eat; I just enjoy stuffing my face with great food. I love to cook, but to be honest, even before I start prepping my ingredients, I’m already looking forward to eating whatever it is I’m about to make. That being said, I think it’s a little bit funny that I rarely talk about the thing I’m most passionate about (haha) here on the blog.
Since I am always on the lookout for new things to try out (new recipes/meal ideas, unusual food combinations, et al.), it’s also very interesting to me to take a peek at what other people are eating (is that weird? creepy? is it too much? I think it’s fun). This concept is not at all original: it’s all over Youtube and various food bloggers are doing “What I Ate Wednesday” blog posts/link-ups, but I think Lauren was the one who inspired me to do this. I’ve been watching her videos non-stop for the past week or so and I especially love watching her “What I Ate in a Day” videos. I love how casual it all is and I love seeing what random meals she comes up with when she’s not filming her cooking show. She’s actually vegan and I’m not (and really not trying to be because I love dairy too much), but she really makes vegan food seem so appetizing and she always almost convinces me with every video that vegan meals are just as fun and good as non-vegan ones. Still, I’m not turning vegan anytime soon because of my love for dairy.
