Seeing people I know and like using AI is making me understand the protagonists of those old time sci fi dystopia's.

"Oh I don't normally use AI, I just wanted it to plan my trip"

You lived on this planet for decades, you know what you like, there are hundreds of websites where you can type into any search engine " things to do in [area]" and have at least a hundred different options.

"Oh I only use it so I can figure out what to make during the week with what I have"

The most popular website as you type in "recipes" into google have sections where you click dinner- quick and easy and those usually rely on staples + 1 or 2 items. I found 30 recipes on chicken alone.

"I had a writing idea, so I typed a few sentences into Chat GPT and I was able to write 20 pages with it."

I think one of the funniest abortion stances I've heard was from my parents neighbor. He's a like, hard-core libertarian viking larper guy who is very tall and very fat and very bald.

He believes a fetus is human with a soul, but also its "basically attacking the woman's body" so if she wants to get rid of it, that's "basically self-defense". He compared it to shooting a home invader. So he supports abortion not as healthcare, but as killing a baby in self-defense

I have historically had extremely treatment resistant insomnia, but recently finally found a medication that actually works - not perfectly of course - but works.

Only thing though, the dreams I am having. Not everytime I sleep but a few so far, ARE VERY REALISTIC and not like the way they have been in the past, no like I truly and actually believed two of them happened and was mad when my partner insisted we hadn’t actually done the things and even in a recent case - I hadn’t gone to work for a day (this one was tricky). I digress, this is all just build up for how I got to my current state of mind because ADHD………. IMAGINE MY DISAPPOINTMENT when I awoke to realize I hadn’t published a fic on Tumblr that was PERFECTLY executed in a “choose your own adventure” style.

Thing about this though is that I have a break in schooling coming up soon, so, in the mean time I’m going to refresh my memory on imbedded links and mass draft posting and folks, I think I’ll finally publish my Jack Abbot x former!Paramedic!reader fic in this style. Have some editing on the fic itself to do as well just for sake of continuity/smoothness from choice to choice.

Is this like an out of pocket thing though? Would anyone actually enjoy? Follow? Will it be too messy in a digital format? Ugh, my therapist said I need a hobby (not a reference I was actually told that) so why not choose something so extremely complicated?

Having my partner read fanfics out loud to me while I work on a paper for school because I kept getting distracted reading them and the technology doesn’t yet exist for AO3 to have audiobook capabilities (something I’m half tempted to create and trademark myself). AND ANYWAYS as the Naked Brother’s Band said if THAT’S not love then what is?

I saw a post talking about how some viewers just aren’t experienced enough to watch the Pitt and I think it needs to be said that’s not about how much medical knowledge you do or do not have. That’s about how much in your life you’ve had your back against the wall with only more sh*t coming at you head on.

Some of ya’ll DO NOT understand what it takes JUST TO SURVIVE.

Like McKay telling Ogilvie he needs to learn a little, some of y’all are the same. And I’m not someone to argue on the internet, if you don’t agree with me, I understand and I welcome you to explain your viewpoint so we can both learn. But straight up approaching everything with black and white, “that is bad in my eyes, your reasoning does not matter, death unto you.” ? yeah, no.

I’m not home currently. The Pitt has been my partner and I’s weekly us time. We’re both very busy, but on Thursday night we make dinner, put our phones and work away, watch the Pitt and then debrief after (mainly because I have medical experience/knowledge and they’re curious and have questions on some of the more nitty gritty stuff) - anyways I’m not currently home.

After tonight’s episode I called, they very quickly answered with a, “I haven’t watched yet, work is busy, will watch tomorrow.” I asked if I could AS AMBIGUOUSLY AS POSSIBLE talk about the episode. So we did.

After I finally finished and said we’d pick back up tomorrow after they watch, my partner very fondly says, “you know people on YouTube and Spotify and anywhere a podcast can be made make money for doing exactly what you just did, and honestly not telling you to take up podcasting, but you’re actually good at it.”

So anyways, stay tuned for a YouTube series.

it's really interesting to see how people respond to characters in the pitt bc it is essentially a show full of basically well-intentioned, hard-working, good people who all fail in very specific ways bc of their own biases and personal traumas which gives you an essentially even playing field, and yet the fandom's own biases and personal traumas also clearly dictate who they have sympathy for and who they very much do not so you get a very wild intersection of takes on everyone which covers every possible iteration of bias and trauma. which is basically the point.

Trinity Santos doesn’t have to accept Frank Langdon’s apology. She can be mad that he reacted (as animals do naturally) with aggression. She never HAS to trust him again.

Frank Langdon deserves to heal and get better. He has suffered consequences even if they don’t seem devastating enough to Santos. He doesn’t deserve a death sentence and to end up divorced and alone and without a job before he is given a chance to show it was a falter.

These are not mutually exclusive things.

How it feels to genuinely enjoy the Pitt and not get caught up on every little bad thing a character has done because they’re all complex human beings and none of them are truly evil like everyone in this fandom seems to think

The last 20 minutes of that episode was a RIDE, but can’t appreciate enough that my husband (bless him and his want to be involved in my interests really ive ruined him) knowing I’d agree - kept saying “now kiss” during Abbot and Robby’s heart to heart, and then 5 minutes later saying the same about Robby and Whitaker.

Also the fanfics THE FANFICS that can be written about Whitaker house sitting for Robby? And the Abbot doing naked-yoga thing?

I could write them, I won’t, but I could.

This, but, the piece of media has been taken off and then added back to the platform at least 4 times and every time I put it back on my watch list and then see the ‘leaving soon’ and think, “wow I really need to get to that this time.” but still don’t, and have this insane overconfidence it’ll be reuploaded in 4, 6, or even 9 months, but one of these times, I’m telling you eventually, they won’t reupload it and this goes for shows and also life and yeah.
