When I was playing chapter 5, I kept wondering what would happen if Asgore realized that the prophecy, the one that's the basis for the Hometown religion, the one that surely he's familiar with, was happening right now? What if he found out Kris was the cage? What would happen if someone let that slip?

Obviously he would know parts of the prophecy we don't, but I still wonder. Would he have still kicked Kris and Susie out and stayed inside? I'm not sure.

I honestly wonder that, too. Considering the fact that the prophecy has a final tragedy that's clearly bad for all of the heroes involved, it seems like Asgore would have a pretty strong reaction to finding out his kid is one of those heroes.

I'm still of a mind that this is why Toriel had to stay asleep in the dark world, while Asgore wasn't restricted in that way. While Asgore certainly does stop by church to pray for his family, I think it's clear that Toriel is the most religious one in the family. If she was actually aware of what was happening in the dark worlds and Kris's role in things, I think she'd put the dots together much faster and basically lose her shit.
