i completely agree! she 100% needs to do more than what she’s doing now for the black lives matter movement. this post was referring to the people who thought the story she told about missing her graduation was selfish and were giving her shit for that, when in my opinion it was just a cute little anecdote.

Taylor Swift was asked to do a video congratulating 2020 graduates and that is exactly what she did. She was comparing her missing her high school graduation and how it is disappointing but better things are to come.

You all read so far into every word that comes out of her mouth. Damn. It was a cute video with a cute message!!

This is about the graduates and once again you’re making it about Taylor which is probably part of the reason she doesn’t partake in a lot because it always shifts the focus to her.

I seriously don’t understand how this happened? Why are there people hating on Taylor for her graduate together speech?

It was always going to be a short speech because she was a GUEST speaker and frankly her speech was as long as most other guest speeches in the broadcast

The video is more than likely pre-recorded and therefore recorded before the #BLM movemwnt gained momentum. With how vocal and direct Taylor has been in this regard recently I don’t think she would’ve shied away from it last night had she had a choice to send an updated video.

As someone who is graduating college this year in a less than ideal or traditional graduation procedure, Taylor sharing a person anecdote about her own less than traditional graduation honestly gave me something to relate to even more.

There’s so much going in the world right now. I think the one thing we should’ve learned by now is to be empathic and kind. Especially so towards someone who we claim to love so much 🤷🏻‍♀️

struggling to understand why people are hating on taylor after that (and everything she seems to do or not do lately)

like it’s actually frustrating - she’s a celeb, she tried to relate to us by saying she had to get her diploma through the mail, it’s kind and thoughtful of her STOP BEING SO MEAN

and btw before anyone says anything i’m graduating this year too, i just finished college

So I went to see the rep tour in NJ bc me and my boyfriend (at the time) were on a j1 in New York together and we queued for ages to get some merch but everything I wanted wasn’t in my size so I decided to hold off...

Antway, after the show we went to get our bus (we had bought a return ticket) and it was LASHING raining and long story short they wouldn’t accept our tickets so we were stranded

and all we had on us was $50 between us in cash and about 20 different taxies refused to bring us to New York with that they wanted at least $100 and I honestly had an absolute breakdown

Then some absolute GEM of a taxi man agreed to bring us to Times Square (we were staying in the bronx) for $50 and we just the subway home but oh my god I was SO grateful that nothing was in my size hahaha

But I’m delighted now to have been able to get some merch online finally!!! 🥰

But on the bright side I had the most INCREDIBLE night, both our phones died before the show and I danced for the entire night in the LASHING rain with TAYLOR FREAKING SWIFT
