Castiel’s progress...
This was what I finished with yesterday:
Then I got as far as this, which might not look much different (apart from the light - it's still the same pink really) but represents frustrating ages of trying to get his eyes right. And his lips. And everything else:
Then I slapped on a bit of background and some highlights with the chunky pastels and got really pissed off because I was losing all the detail. I don’t have a photo of that stage. (Because I was pissed off.)
Then I broke out the pastel pencils and just randomly played and scrubbed and messed about in an experimental way and came up with this:
So, okay... he's getting there. Still quite a way to go and I'm not sure what will happen next. Tone it down a bit? Leave his hands rough so they don't distract from his face? Not sure. I'll hopefully do more tomorrow, but then Wednesday's chemo day. He'll get finished eventually.
