These are some portraits of very young Jensen in various roles, which I made quite a while ago. This is the Dean I'm picturing in Regency Omega, although he's even younger in my story. Young but badass when he has to be!

And here are some of my rough sketches for Dean's favourite type of clothes, which combine masculine and feminine styles:

My inspiration, I have to admit, was mainly Shein! They have some lovely styles, even if the shopping reality quite often doesn't match up to their photos! Here are some of the photos I used as inspiration:

There are lots of other lovely dresses that I've got my eye on to draw Dean versions, so I'll probably add to this post. I hope you like them.

Here are some more. The 'Deanness' of the faces varies, of course, because actual really-looks-like-him portraits take ages, and these are just sketches.

I think I might draw more toward the masculine style because I liked giving him boots. Also maybe some where I add outdoor clothes. It would be fun to add some hats. Not bonnets!!

unfortunately i dont think its queerbaiting if the creator is just so terminally heterosexual that they never remotely considered the same gender relationship their show is centered around could be read as romantic. it is deeply painful however.

Maybe accidental queer baiting? The way someone may not mean to say something rude, but it may come off rude, so it's rude. Frustrating either way.

Not being a dick, just a friendly clarification.

By definition you can't accidentally queerbait. Queerbaiting is specifically using a same sex pair from the show to market the show to queer audiences with no intention of ever following through on a romantic relationship.

There is officially licensed Destiel merch signed off on by Kripke. Teen Wolf had a commercial with the actors for Derek and Stiles draped over each other talking about being "on a ship." Both shows actively used scenes between them as marketing while actively mocking fans for wanting them together. Sherlock has multiple characters refer to Johnlock as a couple, including characters we're supposed to believe are never wrong about human behavior and pushed those scenes in marketing. Then they acted insulted when fans saw them as a couple.

That's queerbaiting.

Done on accident it would just be queer subtext. Done because they had no other choice due to censorship is queer coding.

The specific meaning of the word is really starting to get lost and it's a pretty important one to keep accurate. It describes a very specific phenomenon that was done repeatedly and maliciously for decades and is meant to examine that specifically.

Doing it on accident sucks, but it isn't a tactic of capitalism intentionally intended to suppress queer representation while making money from queer fans.

I feel like the strongest aspect of my gender is being a mother and woman who feels the strength of her ancestors. When you go through horrors, you draw upon their strength, so I found I could protect my children in the only way possible by guiding them through the awful process of seeing their Dad die. If I could, I would have stood over them with a spear, but I could only talk and listen and explain and teach them breathing techniques, and at the same time not hide my own love and grief.

I'm glad the facial expressions are coming across accurately! It can feel so absurd to say gosh I hope the torment maze removes some fire and rusty nails soon, but alas, sometimes that's all one can do.

Perfect. The one on the right is not telling the one on the left how to handle the fire and rusty nails or saying useless things like 'you have to keep fighting,' as if that’s something the tormented one hasn't thought of. They’re just empathising and reflecting and not making it about them!

I can't tell you how fucking frustrating it is to have some random call centre person spout platitudes at me because they think they're being kind when actually they're just trying to make my situation about them so that they can feel better, having fed me some useless nugget of advice which actually, in over eleven years of dealing with cancer (seven of them knowing I'm not getting away with it), I may actually have thought about already! Rarrrr!!!!! And no, I won’t get to ring the fucking bell because there isn't one at the Marsden and most of us are never going to be in the situation where we can say 'bye bye, cancer' and move on with our lives!

The only option I have is to live alongside it as happily as I can and I don’t need a stranger to tell me how to do that!

This week I bought myself a beautiful shiny blue guitar, put up some more solar lights in the garden to make fairyland, played ping pong with my cat, dived deep into my regency/spn fanfic, cooked pies and ate them, dressed in bright summer clothes, talked and listened to my children about things that don’t matter and things that do. And so much more. And I had chemo last week and will have it next week and I had a scan yesterday.

The battle with cancer sometimes isn't about surviving it. It’s about having it and living with it and having a fucking good time anyway. I love my life.

In France if you suffer from hair loss as a teenage girl and cannot afford a real hair wig the school will try and force you to go to class bald. The school will make you buy a chemotherapy turban, you will buy two different so that the school can choose which one they prefer and you will prove that they are chemotherapy turban and not hijab but once you wear it they will change their mind and say it looks too much like a hijab and insist on you going bald or buying a real hair wig that you cannot afford.

If your doctor makes multiple documents confirming that you suffer from alopecia because of stress and the medicine you have to take for your epilepsy and that wearing a bonnet or something is recommended for your mental health as you’re not ready to go out bald in high school as a teenage girl, instead of admitting they are wrong the school will accuse the doctor of lying and report him to the Ordre des Médecins (equivalent of the General Medical council). Your doctor will find himself asking you for a document stating that you are not Muslim in order to defend himself and prove that no he wasn’t colluding with you so you could wear a substitute for hijab.

In France if you are a North African nurse at a public hospital and wear a fabric surgical cap they will try to make you remove it because apparently it’s a hidden hijab. They will accuse you of going against secularism and when you’ll argue that they are discriminating you by assuming you’re Muslim for a surgical cap on your head they will change their angle and claim that you should wear nothing on your hair because you wear the same surgical cap in multiple bedroom which is unhygienic apparently (which is a bullshit argument cause you wear the same scrub/uniform in different bedrooms as well). They will go as far as claiming that disposable scrub caps (you know the thin papery ones?) are not okay to wear in a hospital even if you change it regularly. And then they will fire you for a lack of hygiene because you wear a surgical cap.

All of that will be done in the name of secularism and women’s right despite having nothing do with either quite the opposite.

The teenage girl’s story is also not just about racism and Islamophobia it’s also about ableism as the girl is convinced that the real reason the school is trying to push her out is because she had an epilepsy crisis in class and nobody knew what to do and the school nurse was absent. It could have ended badly had her best friend not known what to do to help. Apparently it was bad enough to cancel class for the rest of the day and the teacher was shocked to the point of ending on sick leave.

oh and don't forget that many parts of France mandate by law how much skin women must show in swimsuits, which they claim is about not getting street dirt in public pools but which is disproportionately enforced on Muslim or even just Middle Eastern/North African women

she does not believe these are the same plant. I tried to explain, and she thought I was either misinformed or lying. so I asked her what exactly did she think the yellow ones were called?

she answered, with complete confidence: Daffodils.
