“Here’s to hoping neither of us have to experience that. That would be an actual nightmare.” Chase grinned widely. “Name’s Chase Stewart, by the way.” He introduced himself. It was something he was still getting used to as most people just knew who he was back home. But it was a very welcome change.

“Yeah, let’s hope.” Adam chuckled and ran a hand through his hair. “Adam Stark. Nice to meet you, man.”

The punching bag didn’t stand a chance. A soldier with super serum coursing through his veins, angry at the world and himself? Yeah, that punching bag will be meeting it’s end soon enough. Otis punches hard, fast and doesn’t pause. The chain holding up the bag creeks and groans under each hit till it snaps. As it snaps Otis hits it one last time and sends it flying across the room. Chest heaving, sweat dripping from his brow, he doesn’t notice someone else has entered the room.

Adam had just placed his training bag down when he caught sight of the punching bag fly across the room. As it hit the adjacent wall, he raised an eyebrow, not moving from his spot. “Either you’re really pissed or that’s a really shitty punching bag.”

“Oh God, that would suck. I think I’ve had nightmares about something like that.”

“тата? мама?” were the first words that left Katarína’s lips as she stood up from what she could only describe as a wild version of traveling via Bifrost. It seemed like a few seconds ago that she had been listening to her twin’s wild explanation of the day, watching in her peripherals her мама in her тата‘s embrace. Now, her family seemed to have disappeared while she was lost in some kind of woods.

Closing her eyes, she allowed herself to calm down from the panic wishing to surge through her body; instead, she focused on her surroundings trying to figure out where the nearest person was. 10 feet. Blue eyes widened and a hex bolt immediately formed on her fingertips as she felt the unknown person come closer, “изаћи на видело!… come out!”

Adam took comfort in the woods around the town; he’d never had woods anywhere near him while growing up in urban New York, and although he loved it there, sometimes he envied the Barton kids because they grew up away from it. The quiet was a nice change and it allowed him to clear his head. He was walking peacefully, looking around, when he saw a familiar hex fly right past his face and hit a tree nearby. “Jesus Kat, you could’ve killed me with that thing!”

Squeezing his eyes shut tight, knocking his heart rate down a few pegs, he moves forward. Offering a hand to Adam to help him up. ‘ I- Habit, I’m sorry. ‘ Not entirely habit, but training. But the line between was blurred for the young soldier but he was getting there. Slowly but surely. Though this relearning and deprogramming process seemed to be hurting those around him. Eyes roam over Adam, checking for anything broken or bleeding. A sigh of relief slips free at seeing he’s okay. But the sigh of relief if soon replaced by guilt and his eyes find the floor.

“Hey, it’s okay. Really.” Adam took his friend’s hand with an understanding smile and pulled himself to his feet. He couldn’t say that he knew exactly what was going through Otis’ head, he’d only heard stories from Bucky and even then he couldn’t wrap his head around it completely, but one thing he knew for sure was that it couldn’t be easy for him to overcome the programming put into his head for years on end. Noting his friend’s obvious guilt, he placed another hand on his shoulder, this time with less force than before. “Don’t worry, I’m fine. I’ve been through worse.” He added in an attempt to lighten the mood.

A normal life. That’s what Otis wants, dreams and- can’t seem to obtain. Training from HYDRA felt as if it was burned into his skull, etched into his bones and darkening his nightmares. Sleep wasn’t an option, he sat awake eyes fixed on the door; always in fear that HYDRA will burst through it and drag him out once again. Feeling hunger and being the one to choose and make his own food was hard to grasp. He was far to use to the army food tossed his way and the I.V they place in his arm when they shut him off for the day. And touch? Well right now as a stranger places a hand on his shoulder, that very training he struggles with kicks in. The hand is grabbed, upper body strength used to flip the man onto his back and Otis jams his foot into the other’s throat restricting airflow. His eyes glaze over, becoming more like a robot than a human before he manages to snap out of it. Pulling away from the other, horror at his actions evident in his features. ‘ I- I’m sorry. ‘

When Adam saw Otis across the room from him, the last thing he expected was to be flipped on his back, and yet, as soon as he placed a hand on his friend’s shoulder, he suddenly felt himself hit the cold floor and an intense pain shoot through his body. He winced, the wind knocked out of him but able to breathe normally again within a minute. “It’s fine...” He muttered.

At the sight of his younger brother, a wide grin immediately lit up his face, however it disappeared when Adam took a fry off of his plate. Quickly, he smacked the other’s hand. “No! No! No! That’s my food!” Protectively, Fend pulled the plate closer to him. “If you wanna pay for it, then you can eat from it all you want.”

Adam let out a chuckle. “C’mon Fend, it was one fry. Not a big deal.”

Cassidy’s eyebrow quirked at his words “Did you just say you’ve been stalking me?” she asked, frowning a little. “I haven’t been avoiding you.. I’ve just been.. Busy…You know me..”

“Not actually stalking you... C’mon, you know what I mean.” Adam raised an eyebrow. “Cass, c’mon, we both know that’s not the truth.”

Fend wasn’t entirely sure how he’d ended up where he had, however he assumed that some Asgardian had punched a hole through dimensions and he’d somehow gotten caught in the crossfire. But now that he was here, he’d decided to roll with it; his laptop, lunch and Bucky Bear were still in his backpack, which meant he had no reason to panic. Deciding to get some food, he plopped down at the counter in the diner and ordered. Once he received his food, he immediately dug in. “Oh my god, that’s good.”

His older brother was not someone that Adam had expected to see, but lo and behold, there he sat. Not one for mushy introductions, he merely sat down across from him and ate a fry off of his plate. "Eh, I've had better."

She was busy with her nose in a book, she hadn’t even really noticed that it was Adam who had sat down next to her, but as soon as his voice snapped her out of her daydream she glanced up, pursing her lips. “Why would you think that?”

“I mean, you’ve been avoiding me all week, so I had to follow you like a stalker.” Adam replied with a shrug.

“Oh no, no one is sitting there.. Feel free..Sorry..” she reassured the person who spoke without looking up and leant forward to remove her belongings from the pile on the wooden chair.

“Okay...” Adam nodded, being a lot more awkward than he’d intended to be as he sat down in the chair. There was a moment of silence before he spoke again. “...Did I do something to make you mad?”
